I had an amazing experience at Harry Ramsden's! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the fish and chips — perfectly crispy and flavorful. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were so friendly. A big shoutout to Stefan, who made our visit even better with his attentive and personable service. He truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I highly recommend this place for a great meal and excellent service!

Not a good experience unfortunately, had pie and sausage and chips, had to wait 30 mins for food even though the restaurant was very quite. Food was tasty but service not good. For fish and chips is quite expensive also

Absolutely banging fish and chips! Everything was fresh, crispy, and cooked just right—proper comfort food. The location is perfect, right by the sea, and the vibes are great. Big shoutout to Scarlett, who looked after us so well! Super friendly, made sure we had everything we needed, and just had a really good energy. Service was quick even though it was busy, and the portions were solid for the price. If you’re in Eastbourne and fancy some top-tier fish and chips, this is the spot. Will 100% be coming back!

Had an amazing meal at Harry Ramsden’s in Eastbourne! The fish was perfectly crispy, the chips were golden and delicious, and the seaside location made it even better. But what really made our visit special was the fantastic service from Scarlett—she was so friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed with a smile. Even though it was busy, the food came out quickly, and the portions were great for the price. If you’re in Eastbourne and craving proper fish and chips, this is the place to go. Huge thanks to Scarlett for making our experience even better—we’ll definitely be back!

Vegetarians unwelcome…. After waiting 10 mins to be seated in a half empty restaurant we noticed a table sign (not on menu) mentioning the current use of beef dripping. We waited a further 20 mins to attract the attention on one of the staff (there were 2 working- although maybe one of them had been pulled in off another area as she really didn’t seem to want to be there) I asked what, if anything was suitable for vegetarians. There was a very uninterested reply that everything was cooked in beef dripping and no help with anything I could have. We left and found a much more welcoming restaurant round the corner. I totally understand the use of beef dripping- but I would suggest at least something suitable for a vegetarian and staff who are aware of which those dishes might be!

This was excellent. The chips were divine and in no time we had our food. The chicken bites were so good! Would recommend and come again! 👍😄

A very cold day and a very warm welcome. Food was excellent, as always. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Taylor was or waitress on the day.

Fancied some fish and chips whilst on a weekend break. As we were olwqlking along the beach with our twin 2 year olds we thought we'd pop in to this restaurant. However, even though we said that my wife and I would be ordering full meals and that we would treat our twins to a portion of chips, we did explain that our kids have special dietary requirements and we would have to feed them each a pouch of food. We were quickly told that the only option we had was to order a takeaway and leave the restaurant. Had the venue been crowded with a queue, maybe I could have understood this, but the place was empty, I remember a couple and a single person eating in the entire restaurant. We were utterly disgusted and how they were treating us. We have never been turned away for any restaurant (and let's face it, this venue is more of a fast food joint) in fact most previous restaurants acknowledge that our children may be ill or have a condition and are super accommodating. Not Harry Ramsdens. They would prefer to turn business away that helps two parents on holiday.

I came back here yesterday 15/2/25 as I was in the area meeting up with a friend decided to get fish and chip dinner I have been before last year was greeted by a very nice polite young lady Taylor took us to a table she said we give us a few minutes to make are choices which she did I went for a large cod was very tasty hot looked great on the plate the place was clean and tidy Scarlett gave us are drinks both these two young lady looked and acted very professional was smart looking polite in my view there isn’t any thing bad I can say about the food the service the business massive credit to the company in my view both these girls need a massive pat on the back for doing a fantastic job not easy dealing with Jo public but these girls do it so well some times you hear young people don’t wish to work more interested in just chatting with work staff than working not these two girls the opposite I think stunning service and I will be back very soon promise 1000/1000 stars both stunning love mr cheeky in Kent Glen Xx

Service was very good when we went to Eastbourne’s Harry Ramsden’s for afternoon fish and chips tea with Prosecco. Although we knew that the food would be “fried and greasy”, my partner and I were not prepared for just how much batter would be there. Very naive, I know. The food, however, was very nice. We have to mention Annie, our waitress. She was very attentive and informative and made our experience all the more enjoyable. Word of warning. It is very draughty if you sit by the windows on a windy, cold day.

We didn't see Annie but I believe she cooked our fish and chips which was delicious. I would definitely recommend this establishment. Unfortunately the QR code didn't work for me but these two definitely deserve to win the Harry Ramsden competition for staff. 🙂

Visited HR in Eastbourne this evening: Sadly the food was dissapointing. We had pie if the day tasted" dry"- as if it was old, despite the gravy as a side which was cold. The cod was ok but also a bit dry.Chips could gave been crispier. Definitely not worth the money. Won't be rushing back to any branch.

We had a delicious meal for three of us and since HR have gone back to using beef dripping we are delighted…. It makes such a difference to the flavour and crispness! Please don’t stop! Really enjoyable lunch and lovely waitresses too… we look forward to going there next time we’re in Eastbourne.

Absolutely delicious and served within minutes of ordering. Worth every penny and the train journey over from Hastings. I had the large haddock and chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce, bread and butter and a pot of earl grey tea. Everything was so fresh, tasty, best quality and cooked to perfection. You can't beat frying in beef dripping. Lovely lady serving and great atmosphere. It doesn't get any better than Harry Ramsden's...

Very nice restaurant and very friendly staff, I had the 60s club fish and chips (fish portion was a bit small), however the meal was very satisfying it came with tea and bread and butter pudding with custard, I added mushy peas as an extra, good value if you aren't looking for a large meal, (it suited me fine). Unlike my last visit to Harry's in Blackpool (we had to order at the counter) this one had table service, if I'm back in Eastbourne I'll happily visit again.

Went in to order some chips recently, while I was waiting I noticed a mock news article on the counter which said they were considering bringing back beef dripping. Eventually I noticed a tiny message at the bottom of it that said all fried food is now being cooked in beef dripping! It is not clear at all, and seems quite sneaky, so even the chips are not vegetarian friendly now. Very unsatisfied with this, will not be returning.

I grew up near the iconic fish shop - it was so much more than that - on the White Coss roundabout at Guiseley (alas no more) in the 60's and the memories came flooding back. In my day fishcake, chips, tea, bread and butter cost 3/6 (18p for you young 'uns) but my Club 60 meal was nowadays very good value at £11.99. The return to beef dripping was just the icing on the cake! Thank you.

We had the 60+ menu, great value. The lovely lady that took our order even accommodated me because I'm lactose intolerant she offered me a small soft drink, I even offered to pay extra but she said it was OK. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Next time we are back in Eastbourne will be coming back here!

Had an afternoon tea here very unusual as it was fish and chips chicken burgers chips curry sauce mushy peas etc. Very different was very nice and hot and had a lovely seaview table would go again got voucher from groupon.
