The best restaurants serving British food in Stockport North West

Coffee is only ok, but there is much better in Stockport in my opinion. But what has put me off returning is this.. they advertised carols and hot chocs for £2.50 on the sat before Christmas ..it was advertised on fb, so I thought I would take mydaughter along for a treat..There was a solo singer, not quite the festive Carol singing we expected..and staff denied all knowledge of the advertised discounted hot choc?! Sent msg about it via fb and it was suggested I emailed the manager which I did..then received zero response! Will definitely go elsewhere for weekend coffees, plenty of choice in Stockport!

I went to this place for my dinner at work, she asked me do I want food or drink, I said a bit of both, she only turned round and said we don’t do any of that here you should go to the cafe down the road, this woman needs to learn some manners and good customer service skills, what a disgusting way to treat a customer to tell them we don’t make what you want without even knowing what I want.

Food cold chips were like crisps and kebab was just meat paid extra for nan bread and we paid £2 50 delivery and tipped the driver never again .

First time today. Sausage, chips and gravy. Was lovely! Usually I find chippy's too greasy, but here was spot on. Will be visiting again!

Best place in Stocport for breakfast and dinners. Great banter and atmosphere and super value for money. X

stumbled on this cafe while being diverted because of building works. What a beautiful church & lovely welcoming atmosphere. There is also a heritage section for research & small gift shop.

Good meal, we were staying at the local premier inn and ate here. It was a little empty when we arrived at 5.30pm but soon was quite busy. Enjoyed our three courses. I think the starters could have been better but the mains were nice! And enjoyed a Cadbury sundae to finish! We tried the happy hour cocktails and I enjoyed them but maybe could have been tastier. Overall a good evening!! Service good, a bit tired ambience!!

Gluten free food offering was really poor. Ordered the toast of the day sandwich which turned out to be a Schar gf roll straight from the packet with some cold dry turkey on it. So butter, no seasoning, no sauce, nothing. It looked totally lost on the plate with a pot of pale looking chips. It’s did come with a very small jug of ‘gravy’ but even this was tasteless and very watery. A really disappointing looking meal that I definitely wouldn’t recommend. Even some vegetables or salad on the side might have helped the dish to look more appealing but instead the roll and the pot of chips looked lost on this huge plate.

You gave me a chicken burger without the chicken.... Salads only???

When we first walked in, we had high hopes because the service was excellent and the pub has such a cosy feel. The food was average unfortunately. My partner had the carvery. The meat was fairly good, the veg was average and the potatoes weren’t nice at all. I had a sweet potato, mushroom and (I think) spinach pie. There was one small slice of mushroom in the pie and the coconut sauce in the pie had a weird taste. It was yellow and it tasted like mustard, mayo and coconut - just not for me. My mash had a few bits of raw onion skin in too, which I wasn’t expecting to find.l and the pastry was underdone. I will say that my carrots were lovely. For the price we paid, I would have expected higher quality. It may be a one off so we may try again

Invest in this A1 pub. It’s excellent.

A nice little find.. Fabulous mushroom and Stilton jacket potato.. Warm atmosphere and vibrant buzz within. Will visit again 👍

Good food, great drinks and atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and polite.
