Attractive appearance, menu looked appealing. 6 adults, one 12-year-old and a baby. Very accommodating about providing a table. Ordered food, waited 30+ minutes. 2 burgers overdone and hard, 1 burger raw/ uncooked, fish 90% batter, very little fish and overcooked called server, very offhand. Complained at bar and had 2 meals refunded. No manager available on premises. On the basis of our experience, cannot recommend.

My wife and I were on a cruise on Lake Windermere and we decided to get off and have lunch in this cafe. We both had tasty Leek & Potato soup, served with bread, along with 2 coffees. So nice just to sit at the table overlooking the lake whilst enjoying our lunch before continuing our cruise.

Headed in as a group of 9 as other cafes weren't big enough to accommodate (absolutely fine), and we're seated quickly. Everyone had coffee or tea and a scone. Scones were a good size and delicious. Service from the guy with long hair was fantastic.

Fair pub grub. My cheese was burnt on my hunters chicken. The children only got 4 nuggets when the menus said 5 and one daughter got beans instead of the peas we ordered but this was rectified when I complained. Not very good though. The children’s menu did not have a price on it but it was reasonable. Nice atmosphere and the building is very characterful.

Went in fish and chips shop, cold and wet needing food as all restaurants locally fully booked. I ordered and sat down to wait for it to be cooked. I realized nobody had asked if we wanted to eat in or out so I asked if we could eat in. The young lad serving said no because we ordered takeaway ( I hadn't specified anything) I offered to pay more if it cost more and the lad refused. We left and ate outside In the rain ( there were plenty of free tables inside) The food was expensive ÂŁ18 for quite a small piece of fish and chips and a single burger. It was ok but nothing special. Wouldn't return because of the staff attitude.

Great service compliments the menu which always has a Sunday roast dinner on Sundays. You need to book in advance to ensure of a table at your chosen time as there is nothing worse than being turned away and having to wait for a table.
