Didn't stay in the hotel, but went for a light sandwich lunch. The sandwich menu offered a fantastic choice of food, at very reasonable prices. A great choice of sandwiches and chips meals, and brunch offerings too. I chose the Eggs Royale which was beautifully presented, and delicious! I look forward to coming back.

We enjoyed an excellent meal here. The pub is cosy and very welcoming. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Two of us had pie and chips and one had macaroni cheese. All of the meals were absolutely delicious and the portions are big. I would definitely recommend.

We went to eat there on Friday my wife had an awesome meal and loved it. I however usually order the ribeye steak was disappointed to find that they have changed their menu and it is no longer available I decided to try the rump was one of the worst steaks I've had. I recommended the royal oak to many people for the good food but have now changed my mind and won't be back.

No customer service. On entering, we were welcomed with the wonderful words "How many for' Sat at a table menu states in a rude manner "No substitutes given on menu" Ordered and waited The vegetarian breakfast was not worth the money. To add insult to injury, a member of staff opened the patio doors near to where we were seated. This then made our food cold. No apology was given. On leaving staff just looked us up and down. However if you are a regular the staff are all over you. This used to be a nice place to go, which I had used for years. Will be giving wide bearth for a long while.

Booked Xmas lunch for 4 people. On arrival we were taken to a table in the bar, and when we asked where the xmas menu was, we were told they were fully booked. I pointed out that we were booked and showed the email from them confirming this. They ignored that and said they were still fully booked. We very reluctantly stayed and ordered off the pub menu. After a wait of almost an hour we were served our meals, and I have to say, it was one of the worst pub meals I have ever had. Dried up chicken with hard bacon on top, and chips that were dry and hard. The peas were fine though. Their only interest was in the xmas lunches in the restaurant half. Considering that the Coach and Horses has. Quite a good reputation, we were very disappointed.
