My wife and I used to visit this eatery on a regular basis to have a breakfast type meal. One could have a full breakfast, toast and eggs, breakfast naps and baguettes, coffee etc. On our most recent visits our waiter got my order wrong bringing fried eggs, not poached. I declined a change in the food accepting that it was a simple mistake to make. On our most recent visit my wife wanted an Americano coffee while I asked for a Flat White. We were offered an apology but were told the coffee machine had broken down so only filter coffee was available. My wife ordered an omelette while I had an egg, bacon and sausage breakfast baguette, or toast; I cannot remember. When our food arrived I chose to eat the egg first. When I started to eat the bacon I found it to be less than hot and undercooked. As was the sausage. We were eager to leave as we going to Nantwich. I asked for the bill and in passing said that the bacon and sausage was inedible. The response surprised me a little to be told I had eaten half of the food but they would knock ten percent from my meal. There was no offer to re-cook it and I paid and left. Later, on checking the bill I found that I had been charged for an Americano and Flat White despite having had only filter coffees. I was very disappointed with the experience. We had enjoyed our food on a number of previous visits but this was the first time I had made a complaint; the egg mix-up aside. It suggested the place ran well when everything was only okay or maybe the broken coffee machine had got them down. Whatever the reason we haven’t returned for breakfast.

This was our third visit,my wife and I plus a wheelchair. We have returned because the food for the price is excellent and you can sit outside and watch the boats in the marina. The food is still good and tasty but they really tried our patience with very slow and poor service. I don't know who is in charge but they really need to spend some time training the waiting staff and putting down some simple rules. Every time we have been they have not wiped clean the tables and chairs, we are outside with birds etc so it's clear when marks (bird poo) has been there for a while you would think in the summertime it would be someone's first job! When we have arrived there is always at least one table with used crockery on and if you watch they deliver food etc but usually go back empty handed so have to make a special trip to clear a table so when it's busy you can guess the tables don't get cleared unless they get help from other areas. But they are friendly, the views are good and the food tasty and good value so we will give it one more try if the weather stays kind. There is also inside seating.

Booked a table for a Friday evening meal and couldn't understand why it was so quiet, perhaps because it was January. The service was attentive but not over the top, a very pleasant place and the food was very good and not over-priced. Choice of about 5 starters, 5 mains and the same for desserts. If you book in advance you get a free bottle of wine too for Friday evenings!! The galley is part of Aqueduct Marina, but you don't need to moor your boat or even have a boat to visit. It's a great place to visit for breakfast, lunch or afternoon as it's right by the marina.

We've called in a couple of times recently for lunch, when we were passing nearby. It's not quite a restaurant, but a lot more than a café. The key feature is the location. Part of the Aqueduct canal marina, and overlooking the boats moored in the basin. The portions are usually huge, which some may find off putting, but you can ask for a small one. They offer the usual staples, and specials which change regularly. Some of the specials are really unusual and tasty, but don't expect haute cuisine. It's just simple and well cooked. Some staff are clearly inexperienced, but are always friendly and keen to help. We will be back.

Having previously been a regular visitor, we visited The Galley on Saturday 20th September, after a break of 2 years, as we were in the area we decided to go for a quick lunch as previously we had always enjoyed the food and the good service. However yesterday was extremely disappointing as the service was slow, we needed to ask for cutlery, napkins, sauces etc; even elements of our order had to be subject to further request. The soup of the day was particularly disappointing as it was a milky consistency and had no flavour. We when mentioned this to the young people serving, they replied with a distinct lack of interest. Therefore we shall not be returning again.

We were out looking for a spot of lunch and I remembered that there was a cafe near the newly built marina. It was a fairly cold and damp Wednesday, so the cafe was quite quiet. The menu is great for a small cafe, baguettes, jackets, omelettes and a decent selection of main courses. Portion size clearly isn't a thing then know about. Everything was huge, we just had baguettes, and they were rammed full of meat, lovely salad, tortilla chips. Really nice and very filling. Others in the cafe has soup and a sandwich, omelettes, full English - and it all followed the same pattern of looking very nice and being plentiful. Prices were slightly dearer than expected - Baguettes were £6.50ish - though well worth the money. Staff were lovely and polite, service was prompt and it's now certainly on our list of local places to pop in for lunch. Looks like they have a few special events too.

Had a lovely lunch, the vegetable crumble was superb, great banter between customers and staff. Everything is homemade to a high standard.

Would have liked to have given 5 stars... But the cheeky so and so's carpark has sent us a parking charge notice!!!!! We've eaten in pubs and restaurants, all over the country and never ever had to pay for parking, I don't even remember seeing anywhere to pay for parking? We were so pleased with the food that we were going to make it our regular stop when we go to the nearby airport monthly. Well certainly not going to be doing that now!

The most appalling 'meal' and service that I have ever been subjected to. We ordered steak and ale pie and this was brought out to us and placed on our table and described as a pie. However, there was absolutely no pastry, just a bit of gravy in a dish. When I called the waiter back he said 'to be honest, we've ran out of pastry' - are these people for real? To add insult to injury, the manager actually tried to charge us for the pies we never received!!!! Shambolic and not for the first time, but definitely for the last. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY!!!!

This place has a vast amount of things for children to play on. However don’t expect to get food quick- they have two cage areas but one is never open and the other has a constant huge queue because the staff take forever! Even if you want drinks you have to queue with the food and last time we queued for 25 minutes! Ridiculous when you have children to supervise and feee!

Average food more like a pub, raw onion in the scotch egg bhaji, bang bang cauliflower poor, fish and chips were tiny and fish dry. So over priced for below average food.
