Lovely old pub, Robinson Brewery really have invested well in their estate and the Swan Inn is no exception, absolutely chock full of character. Well worth checking out if you’re passing. We chose from the light bite menu which was terrific value for money, great portions and good quality. Very friendly, attentive staff waiting on. The cherry on the cake? Possibly the best pint of Unicorn Bitter I’ve had in a long while.

Called into the Swan just on spec while touring the area. Greeted by very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome indeed. We chose meals from the light bite menu which were very good indeed. I had beer battered fish and my wife had the lasagne. The only thing that needs identifying is the £6.75 a pint for Neckoil IPA. Ridiculous price. Overall a very warm and inviting place to visit. I think I'll book a room there soon for a better visit to the area. Well worth 5 stars in my book.

This is the 2nd time this year my Wife & myself have stayed at the amazing venue. This time we returned with Our 2 Friends for a Saturday night away & again from check in with the lovely Lady owner until checkout everything and everyone was perfect. This time we ate dinner, which my Wife & one friend both had the Braised Steak Pie which my Wife said it was the best Pie she had ever had! Our Friend was equally impressed. Our other Friend & myself had the lasagna which was absolutely spot on, oh my delicious! Portion's are great. Proper home cooked, locally sauced meal's, you can just tell. We then ate breakfast and again omg just amazing. The sausage and the bacon are just the best. Breakfast is an absolute bargain for the price, including Cereals, toast, tea, coffee, orange juice, toast, lots of preserves and of course the King of the Full English ❤️ The Lady Owner is just so lovely, attentive and would literally serve you extra coffee etc. Just such a hardworking, lovely and friendly Lady. Accomodation yet again 100%, this time we had no 3 & 5. The only thing we could probably say is that room 3 and 4 door's open on to each other so it was a bit awkward as we went in and out as the neighbours often doing the same to smoke outside our open bedroom window 🙄 Not the Owner's fault at all. The room's do get very hot but the fan's in the room are top quality & kept us cool all the time we were there. We will be back 100% even just a drive out for Sunday lunch, but also more time's with our Friend's again to stay over. Thankyou to all of your lovely Staff & Owner. You are outstanding!

The best fish & chips I've ever had. Crisp, rich-tasting beer batter. Fresh fish that practically melts in your mouth. Chips have just the right crunch on the outside, perfectly fluffy inside. The sticky toffee pudding is delicious too: rich without being stodgy, served with caramel sauce and luxurious salted caramel ice cream. Do your mouth a favour and eat here!

Although it’s over 4 miles from Nantwich this is a lovely little pub, we also ate here, word of warning the portions are enormous, share the starters. The rooms are compact (I sat up in bed and was able to lean over slightly and make a cup of tea, that small) but our room was beautifully presented, two shower heads which was a great, yes we’d definitely come back, but perhaps order taxis to travel to and from town for more variety of meal options.

Decided to go to the swan to celebrate a 90th birthday. They didn’t let us done. We normally pop in for a ping when we’re passing (never fails to serve a good pint) …and we already know the old charm, with a twist, interior suites us well. The food was excellent Beef pie… every bite was succulent quality beef in a beautiful gravy ….AND….a proper pie! Fully wrapped and cooked to perfection … no soggy bits… Cheese and Onion pie…. Again cooked to perfection, it tasted exactly of what you’d expect it to. Cheesy and oniony. The onions were cooked but not over cooked so you could still get a proper taste of onion. (Akin to when Morrison used to do C&O Cornish pasties a few years ago. The service was excellent… the server remembered who had ordered what when returning with the meals. Remembered drinks. Just a super pleasant experience.

We had booked for a family of eight for a special occasion. The meal went well until desert , when one guest ordered cheese which was advertised as including Brie and grapes. When the plate arrived it had neither, just three small portions of very ordinary mouse trap quality cheese, some chutney and a few water biscuits for which the price was £9.95, more expensive than all other deserts. I queried this when paying the bill and was offered a £3 discount, which I felt was insulting. The Swan advertise themselves as serving a range of quality cask ales. After one point of Robinson Unicorn ale which was so bad I was forced to drink lager. I will not be returning.

Chose the Swan Inn for a Mothersday meal. Our first family meal of the year and it was absolutely shocking. Firstly, it took an hour for our food to be served and only partially served as it was missing the items. We raised this and 2 of the guests waited whilst their food went cold, however when asking 15 minutes later where the items were, the waitress apologised and said she needed to take a drinks order first for an alternative table. Additionally, another guests burger was burnt and bun was stale. We complained about this also as the missing items came out 20 minutes after the main meals. This completely ruined the meal. The lady apologised and offered free desserts. We declined as we decided to go home for a takeaway. To make matters worse, they tried to charge us for a meal that was ruined and missing items. After the waitress argued about the payment for my mother's meal, we wouldn't speak up, they eventually removed the meal from the bill reluctantly. I can honestly say this was disgusting and not worth the £60 we still had to pay for fish and chips and chicken and rice with one rou d of drinks. I'm hoping this review makes people think twice before booking for such a special occasion.

Had an overnight stay for my husband's birthday. Bed was uncomfortable and shower leaked. Bells at the local church going off every half hour throughout the night which would have been nice to have been warned. Starter and main were burnt, couldn't believe the chef had allowed the burnt pie to even leave the kitchen, couldn't cut through the pastry. The nacho startes also burnt but we let that go. My turkey dinner had half a slice of meat on. A replacement was going to be at least 20 mins due to the staff concentrating on a larger party so we left without eating feeling sorry for the waitress who was left by the management to deal with the situation.

During our stay we had lunch and dinner, and even managed to squeeze in breakfast before we left, all the menus left us spoilt for choice and the food was absolutely delicious - the best pub meal we’ve had in a long time - I must make a special mention for the cheese pie which my partner and I can’t stop thinking about!!! We live locally and always enjoy a visit to The Swan, the food is always top notch, especially their Sunday roast. We visited on Sunday 19th Feb and whilst we enjoyed our meal, things just felt a little lacking. You couldn’t fault the amount and...

Spent a lovely weekend in one of the 7 rooms in the converted stable block. The accommodation was excellent, super comfy bed and excellent shower. Breakfast was equally good, freshly cooked and quality locally sourced ingredients. We ate in the pub one night and again...

Visited The Swan again last night with friends for a meal and it was at its absolute best! The place was packed with not a table to be had but that didn't affect either the 5 Star service or the standard of food. It came...

What a lovely little place! Came here for lunch and the food was incredible, reasonably priced and loved how many drink options they had. Perfect for coffee fans, the staff were also exceptional. So friendly and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Will definitely be returning.

All their beer is made in house by Bollington Breweries. Friendly service and pleasant clientele. Recommended.

Nice real beer and food. Cosy and friendly. Not quite as good under Buxton Brewery cut good to see it re-open. 04-07-24 Sadly closed again with stripped out fittings and furniture with a sad now on the window from Buxton Brewery saying we tried 😥

A group of 23 of us booked for the Christmas 3 course meal. The booking was for 7pm and it took the staff until after 8 pm to start bringing the Starters to us in dribs and Drabs. We were advised the Vegetable soup was not available and we're offered 3 alternatives. One of which turned out to be not available. 1 person did not like the alternatives to the soup but was not offered anything else or her money back for this. The main courses arrived again after the staff not clearing the tables and again in dribs and drabs. The cranberry sauce arrived after most people had finished there meals. The Turkey was beautifully cooked but the Salmon was overcooked, Some of the vegetables were more than slightly Al dente and some cold. Again the tables were not cleared properly and the sweets arrived again in dribs and drabs. We were not offered the option of brandy sauce for the Christmas puddings and the pitiful amount of Custard that was to shared between everyone was very disappointing. The overall experience ended around 10.30 meaning it had taken 3 and a half hours to serve 3 courses if food. There were only 3 staff we could see in the premises and they seemed to be trying to cook and serve at the same time. They appear to be prioritising walk in customers and blamed this partially on the poor service and lack of staff allowed to work by the management. Finally the Cheese and biscuits ordered specially for two people and confirmed the day before were not brought out and we were told that was only available on Christmas day. We shall not be booking this again! Please think carefully before booking a large party for a meal.
