A nice pub and one we will be visiting again. We did feel the portion sizes were rather small though and my husband was still hungry after leaving. The mushroom stroganoff was lovely just not enough as a main course we felt.

Absolutely fabulous evening meal had by all the family at weekend. Greeting was lovely and welcoming at the bar. Quick service despite being very busy. Buzzing atmosphere. Lighting adjusting to time and darkness outside. Staff were lovely. Meals were all fantastic (especially the all famous bhurtpore curry’s…you’ve got them just perfect, and the naan bread was unbelievably delish!) Deserts were amazing!!! You’ve done Simon, Nikki and their team proud I bet! Will definitely recommend and return soon xxx

I moved from Nantwich to the new estate In Aston . I was most welcomed by previous owners Simon and Nicky who sadly had decided to retire . They introduced me to the new owners who were taking over . The transformation of the premises is second to none with exceptional decor and fittings bringing this new pub into 22nd century in my eyes . The Bhurty (& next door No 18 cafe) is a must visit for anyone who is coeliac/gluten intolerant! There is always a huge selection of options (starter, main and dessert!). The menu is clearly marked and all the lovely staff are really knowledgeable on what is safe/not safe to eat! Last night, I had the burger, with chips, coleslaw and even gf onion rings, followed by the summer cheesecake 🤩 both delicious!

Lovely pub, with delightful, welcoming staff and pleasant service. Very accommodating and if you have a motorhome and eat in the restaurant, you can stay in the field behind at no charge.

Quite possibly the best steak ever! Certainly right up there when eating out. Cooked to perfection, nicely melt in the mouth!! Great beer and great service too. Considering the pub is currently undergoing renovations, really looking forward to using the finished article….

We went for lunch today. The staff were so welcoming, atmosphere was spot on and the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Had a very good meal. Roast pork and Steak pie. Wine was very reasonably priced. Service was good, but the young ladies serving seem to spend a lit if time chatting, rather than looking round at their customers. Overall, it was a good meal, with a nice atmosphere. We look forward to returning once the main building is opened after its renovation.

We enjoyed a great Sunday lunch with delicious puddings. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We're looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.

Great place to pop into for food and drink or even a takeaway?!!

Excellent curries and India theme to a large oak paneled pub inspired by the landlord's visit to India. A large varied range of real ales always changing. Always friendly and relaxing. One of my favorite places. Let's hope it doesn't change inn name or character.

After a recent change of management at this pub, we visited to have a meal, looking forward to many more visits ahead. All of my family’s meals were lovely but unfortunately mine wasn’t quite right, I didn’t mind. But my mistake was to politely explain the problem and asked one of the staff for a replacement. I was approached by the manager who told me that she was sorry I didn’t like the food but then proceeded to tell me that I was wrong about my complaint. It was rather disappointing and uncomfortable to be honest. When my replacement food was brought, she then passed my table and spoke rather loudly that she hoped I liked that one. It sounded very sarcastic and It was easily heard by customers near to me, which further contributed to the discomfort. The criticism was taken very personally, which was unnecessary and quite weird, I felt. Never experienced anything like this before anywhere. Shame, because everyone else’s food was great. I didn’t even mind that I had to return mine. Don’t complain about the food😳

Had a really nice lunch in the temporary pop-up in a TeePee at The Bhurtpore. Excellent food (which came very quickly) and a nice choice of drinks and excellent service. It's very nice ( and warm) in the tent, and I look forward to going into the pub when the refurbishments are finished soon.

I have visited The Bhurtpore since I was in my early thirties, and am now in my early seventies. I used go there regularly as the food is always delicious. However being a vegetarian, over the years the choice of menu has been limited to the extreme and is always the same dishes on offer. While in the 70s and early 80s this was marginally acceptable but definitely since the mid 90s this is a disgrace! Do you not value none meat or fish eating clientele? There are so many local venues that have embraced customers of varying tastes, and they are making a fortune on the backs of these short sighted landlord/landlady Come on Bhurtpore, step up and meet the challenges of the modern local communities! I was a loyal customer for many a year but there was only so many “Cheese and Leek” potato cakes a person can take for Sunday Lunch! Other newer customers may look at today’s menu and see a very few other dishes (compared to meat and fish menus) however these too are still the same as years ago. Please please change.

We had food in the Tipi last night and it was lovely! So toasty warm in there, food was delicious!

Lunch in the tipi. Great atmosphere in the tipi and it was warm on a cold sunny day outside. Soup and ham and cheese toasties combo was excellent. Food was a little slow in arriving but definitely worth the wait . Temp toilets in the car park, but these were clean and heated aswell. Good value for great food. Compliments to the chef.

A lovely family lunch. A great setting with good food and service. Can’t wait to see the rest of the pub after the refurbishment. Definitely worth a visit now to the teepee.

The reason we moved to the village

We have been regular visitors to the Bhurtpore Inn for about 20 years . We are travelling some distance from Shropshire and have really been impressed by Simon George's range and quality of beers . The Campaign for real ale have also been impressed as The Bhurtpore Inn has been a long time regular in The Good Beer Guide . Nicky George has an excellent front of house team running the food service . We have enjoyed the quality of the fresh food that is always served to customers with politeness and keeness to help. On our latest visit on Wednesday 10th January 2014 we noticed the sign saying that Simon and Nicky have finally managed to find a reliable buyer for The Bhurtpore Inn. Simon and Nicky are due to leave The Bhurtpore Inn at the end of January 2024. The new owners are already making initial modifications to the dining room / restaurant at the front right hand side of the building . This room is now closed and is being converted in a separate coffee shop business. The new owners own a coffee shop in nearby Wrenbury and we think they are moving this business into The Bhurtpore building restaurant. The Bhurtpore will temporarily CLOSE for other modifications through February 2024 and it is planned for it to reopenat some point in March 2024. We hope things do not change too much and the high quality of food , real ale . Best wishes to Simon and Nicky on their impending escape and to the new owners . The Bhurtpore Inn is now running more or else as normal apart from closure on Mondays and Tuesday due to the shortage of staff Older Review information It has a seperate dining room space and many other tables in smaller spaces around the bar. A lovely real fire is the small reception area by the end of the bar. A ' food specials' board is on the wall by the entrance to the kitchen in this area. A seperate chalk board in the main bar area lists the real ales available along with a description , ABV and cost. Lovely food curries and my favourite steak and kidney pies freshly prepared with puff or shortcrust pastry tops. Fresh seasonal vegetables and potatoes with it. We are regular visitors and cannot wait to return!

Great selection of beers and ales. Home cooked fresh food. Occasionally a live band will be on. This is a great place if you can avoid some of the regulars, only kidding one of them is my brother in law.

Wendy used to live near the Bhurtpore and suggested we go for some lunch. The food was excellent and the service very good, Mark looked after us very well 😀 There was a relaxing atmosphere and we enjoyed our time there. Highly recommended

Well, what can I say. The ambiance of the Indian subcontinent created by the maps and visuals from the days of Empire is very homely and interesting. There are three main eating areas and this time we were in the main restaurant and then after in the bar. The food - Three Pappadum Starter, Mains of Goat Curry (me) and Chicken and Spinach Balti (significant other) is excellent and the meat is first rate. Simon & Nicky George have it covered (they have been here over twenty years) and have won so many awards they really don't have to care about reviews like this any more. The beer choice is excellent as many pumps operate on permanent weekly change. Theres always a new taste. If only we lived nearer we would be in there more. Congratulations on operating the best pub I have ever been in.

Good tasty curry. Also traditional pub menu including Steak and Kidney Pie. Tricky choices to be made - been twice great both times.

This was our first visit to this pub which has an excellent local reputation. It was not as good as we'd been led to believe. Nice looking tradional pub with superb range of beers and ciders. Staff were professional and by no means rude, but a smile would not go amiss. We went on Sunday lunchtime and, oddly, there was no 'Sunday lunch' (roast dinner) on the menu. Food was good but not spectacular. Plenty of nicely cooked chicken with stilton sauce (not enough stilton in my view) but sadly deficient in potatoes and (especially) vegetables. Lasagna was good. It was not busy for a Sunday lunch time. Perhaps a score of 3/5 is a little harsh, but certainly not worth 4/5, and one can't give 3.5.

Have been visiting this pub for over 20 years. Has 11 real ales plus numerous spirits plus a few largers. Good food which always includes curries.

Decent enough pub with a good range of draught beers. Food was perfectly fine and the service good. Every reason to go again.

Large family dinner and everyone really enjoyed what they had. Service was good. 2 of the men in our group had sticky toffee pudding and both highly recommend it!

Wonderful atmosphere and superb beer & food!

Very friendly staff. The foodxwasxreally good. They have small plates menu which means that three courses are possible. Had the breaded brie with salad and a Cumberland dressing which was very tasty. Main course was lasagne with salad and garlic bread, followed by ginger pudding, toffee sauce and ice cream. All very scrummy . It has a very cosy, old fashioned feel to it, definitely worth more than one visit.

Nice lunchtime meal in pleasant 'quiet' relaxing restaurant area. However, table service was too slow and eventually had to go to the bar to place our food order. I am not impressed by the owners petty response....says it all really.

Whist at Wrenbury we decided to walk over to the Bhurtpore Inn in Aston. Its a 60 minute walk across footpaths if you want to avoid roads. Ended up coming back on a different route to make it a good circular walk - have a look at OS Maps. Really impressed with the pub/restaurant when we arrived. Had lunch outside in the garden. Good food. Lots of dining places inside. Many ales available to try on draft. Owners are doing a really good job here looking after customers. Now down on our list of best place to visit when in Wrenbury - well worth the effort. (imagine you could get a taxi to and from Wrenbury

Wonderful pub, such friendly management & staff and amazing food so had to have two consecutive night’s dinner. Lovely spinach & chicken balti and steak, red wine & spinach pie & chips. Highly recommend this fantastic place

Clean and tidy big room.comfortable

This is a proper English pub owned and run by Simon George and his family. It is a really friendly, relaxing place to spend time and try the extensive beer menu out. There are usually around 10 real ales on and the pumps change regularly. There are also Belgian and German beers and a good choice of alcohol free drinks for drivers. The food is hearty and the curries are recommended (just beware when they say hot they mean hot).

Excellent, but it always is. Cheshire prices. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Had a great selection of ales and beer. Wasn’t a massive fan of the curry though and there wasn’t a huge selection either. Still a nice experience, great if you love old school boozers.

Absolutely belting pub. Phenomenal selection of real ales & whiskeys. Excellent food, especially the curries. Staff always friendly and helpful. Just make sure you book a table at busy times! Recent visited again (Feb 2023) and they are still absolutely top notch.

Had a fantastic lamb curry last night with some amazing beers. The wine specials were excellent too. The pub was fully booked and the service was exceptional as always, Simon, the Land Lord and his staff are brilliant.

Spent my husbands birthday meal here with all the family. Food was fantastic, plenty of choice for all. Vegetables served on a side dish which I personally prefer. All staff very helpful and friendly yet very professional. Would definitely recommend.

Authentic curries in a village pub location and a superb range of ales. What's not to like

Came in early December and couldn’t fault a thing, yes the decor is dated and the carpets are ild but it’s a proper pub. A pub with a twist, specialising in curries you can’t go wrong. We’ve enjoyed all sorts here and to top it off the ale is a perfect match for my partner, when he’s a bit full from food he highly recommends some local favourites from red willow or if calling in for a swift one the bitburger hits the spot. We be popping in again more than normal!

Food and beer are exceptional. We've been twice in two months, and we don't live nearby. I'm sure we'll visit again in 2023.

Bhurtpore Inn continues to offer delicious food and beautiful real ales . A lovely range of specials appear on the chalk board by the kitchen door. Simon continues to source wonderful real ales - highly recommended ( Do be aware that it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays at present due to the difficulty finding staff )

Wonderfully warm and welcoming traditional country pub. We enjoyed a tasty and leisurely Saturday lunch which was somewhat enhanced by my exquisite vegan options! The chef went over and above board to ensure my menu matched that of the carnivores! Thank you, we will definitely return!

A nice country pub with excellent beer and very reasonably priced food, which also includes some lighter bite options if you don't want a full meal. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere and there are plenty of staff where you don't have to be subjected to football if it's not your thing. But there is a room at the rest near the bar of you do!

First class service and everyone's food tonight was absolutely spot on. A great choice of menus, probably twice the normal amount of options we are used to, we will definitely be going back, lovely atmosphere and the most helpful and polite waitresses you are ever likely to meet, most certainly 5 stars.

Called in for afternoon coffee and dessert on the way home from Nantwich today. Good value puds (bread and butter pud and an apricot frangipane tart) were delicious. Good conversation with the owners. Lovely unmessed about with pub with lots of traditional features intact. Modern clean toilets always a bonus.

Spent all day in this wonderful pub, hadn't visited for a few years and still has a fabulous choice of beer and good food. The most astonishing thing about our visit was the landlord giving us a lift to Crewe due to our train being cancelled which would of meant a 2 hour wait at Wrenbury station. What a guy!

Excellent food and wonderful choice of real ales

Finally managed to get here and what a great experience and pub! Simon and Nicky the owner's made me feel so welcomed and got me a table in the rear dining area for a sit down with my pint and a meal. The menu was amazing and the curry selection was excellent but having had a curry a few days ago, I went for the recommended "Beef lasagna" with crusty garlic baguette slices and a freshly, marinated salad...wow! This was one of the best Beef lasagna's ever... Highly recommend this pub and restaurant and the staff were amazing along with Simon and Nicky! A big shout out to you all and thanks for such a great experience. Such a pity I live so far away otherwise I would make it one of my regular stops most definitely!

After hearing good reviews from some friends about the pub, we decided to do our Wednesday Walk around this part of beautiful Cheshire and include a pub lunch with a few drinks. Boy am I glad we did! A warm welcome as we entered the door and our order for drinks in progress, I went for the 3 Tuns Ginger flavoured real ale as did 2 others and the rest went for the Dolphin IPA. As we browsed the menu, my eyes went straight to the Goat Curry with Pillau Rice and Poppadoms with Mango Chutney the others plumbing for other curries and Salmon dishes. It was the first time that day no one spoke for about 20 mins! The meals were absolutely spot on, the goat meat just dissolved in your mouth and the curry sauce was just the right strength and full of flavour. The Ginger ale complimented the food really well. The other 4 walkers heaped praise on the pub, the staff the ale and especially the food, unanimously deciding it was the best lunch time we had ever spent on any of our walks! Not lightly taken I may add. If you are in Cheshire around the Aston/Wrenbury area, I recommend the Bhurtpore Inn wholeheartedly, we are already planning our return!

Popped in after a trip to alderford lake, the bar has a massive choice of ales. From Belgian beers to local ales this pub has a selection which would even rival the Borough! The food was delicious, the beef madras is incredible!!

Really nice curry and ale. Nice little stop over... Has fairly big field out back. Nice and peaceful. Free to stay in van if you spend some money in the pub but phone ahead. Loads of ales on.. At least 8 maybe more real ale hand pulls and does loads of ciders.. That's all on top of the usual. Good service. Highly recommended 🍻 🍏 🥘 🏕

Just had a gorgeous Sunday roast at Bhurtpore. Had chicken breast and my hubby had beef. Fresh ingredients , Yorkshire puds and roast potatoes very crunchy. Excellent value. Thoroughly recommend

What a brilliant find, amazing selection of real ale, also some very nice lagers, the food is absolutely amazing, my wife had the home made beef burger she said it was the best she ever had with real chunky chips and fresh side salad, i had the home made beef Madras curry tender chunks of beef and REAL pilau rice, it way exceeded my expectations, gorgeous, realistic prices - excellent value for money.

A real treat if you enjoy cask ale, spacious establishment inside and out, nice food, friendly staff and clients.

The meal was one of the best pub meals I have had in a long time. In addition the staff were friendly and attentive and the range of beers amazing.

Great little boozer with undoubtedly the best curry I've had in ages. Wouldn't normally order Indian food in a British pub. But this place is renowned for them and justifiably so. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.
