We always stop here on the way to visit family in North Wales. All of the food we've had here has been nice and makes us want to stop here every time we travel this way.

Lovely drive out of Nantwich to the cafe for a full english after morning run. Well portioned servings. Great quiet area to sit, fab for our autistic child. Service is great, and the shop selling cheeses and little gifts is very good.

Great home cooked food. We had the Ploughman’s Lunch, it had everything. You have to try the homemade Pork Pie, gorgeous!! The staff were very polite and friendly. The toilets were clean. Afterwards we looked around their shop and bought some Cheese, a Pork Pie and some other bits and bobs. Would definitely recommend!

I stopped for a latte (£2.25) whilst walking along the Shropshire Union Canal towpath between Nantwich and Chester. Pros: -Car park at front. -Plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. I sat outside on a wooden bench. -Cafe. A member of staff brought my latte outside to me - a nice touch. -Premises also contains a shop. -Toilets. -Free WiFi. Cons -Occasional traffic noise when sitting outside.

Popped in on our way to Chester. They were quite busy and had most tables full with customers. I placed our order and we had our cuppa whilst we awaited our snack (toastie and sandwich) . Everything was ok but the service was average, it seemed they may have been a bit light staff wise ?

We had our dog with us and desperately needed a break on a long journey. They had an inside area which allowed dog. Cup of tea was great, friendly staff, clean toilets. No bread in the shop though, maybe it was sold out, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Stopped here for a light lunch whislt walking along the canal. We ordered a toasty and a cheese sandwich. Both sandwichs were missing the coleslaw. My cheese sandwich was missing the red onion chutney. The cheese was tastless which isn't great for a cheese factory and it was on white bread. £5 for two slices of white bread and a bit of tasteless cheese was expensive. You would think that with all the cheese on offer in the shop you could get a nice cheese sandwich with some crusty bread and you choice of cheese. Or a nice ploughmans instead of crappy burgers and chips and all days breakfasts. Disappointing,

We often come here for breakfast. My husband has a full English or a breakfast roll, I have poached egg on toast. They do my toast with gluten free bread. Have had toasties and coffee before. They often have cakes. Used by the local workforce as they do take out as well as eat in. Handy stop on road or canal, plenty of parking and mooring.

Stopped for a light lunch at 12.45 .We sat in the annexe part of the cafe and waited for 10 minutes for service,so I went to the counter and ordered two coffees and two fish finger sandwiches. The coffees arrived after ten minutes and 25 minutes later the sandwiches arrived, one with a large hair sticking out of the sandwich. As we had already drank the coffees we decided to leave. We shared one sandwich and told them not to bother cooking another, although I was given a refund for both sandwiches as I left I was given the impression that it was all my fault !!! I'm sure it was just a bad day as the fish finger sandwich we had was quite nice although it was missing the crisps it was advertised with !!!

Excellent choices of cheese, but unfortunately not all the ones we had picked before setting off, but we did get plenty from the choices they had and my purpose for the visit specifically was that they do the Scorpion cheese which I adore! Had cheese and onion pie which was very nice, if a little lacking on cheese and heavy on potatoes, however, very nice all the same. Only downside was the 55 minute wait from ordering our meal to getting it. I appreciate they were busy but almost an hour was a little over the top and there was no mention when we ordered our food and coffees that there would be any particular delay. Would not stop us visiting again however.

Pedimos su desayuno completo y en el momento en que ha terminado nos estaban bien y verdaderamente completo y bien vale la pena el dinero (que no fue tanto como esperaba) y sin duda estar llamando de nuevo pronto.

Passed lots of times, it's a Cheese producer with shop & cafe. Basic shop with lots of cheese,it was lunch so stayed. A small cafe with so much potential ( utilise the main product cheese & lots of great looking ones as well but not on the menu !) ordered a burger, full English breakfast & cheddar & onion marmalade sandwich. The burger arrived & looked very impressive for the price, it went downhill from there. The wrong order, wrong description, orders missed & it wasn't just our table ! Food was plentiful, a little overload on the chutney didn't need it. Everyone has bad days but it's simple ensure orders are correct & they all go out together. Sadly missed out on a tip & return visit

We passed Caverley Mill on our very early outward journey on the Shropshire Union Canal, and it was closed, but fortunately we passed on our return and moored up. A chap coming out said "don't go inside, you will spend too much and laughed".Inside was a fabulous cafe, real proper cooked food, home tasting and good quality. The shop is where we too spent too much. Beautiful preserves and unique gifts.Thoroughly recommend stopping here. Staff are great, food is great, canal location stunning.

We had passed this cafe many times on the way to Wales and were surprised that there was a cafe there. Two weeks ago we decided to call in and were utterly amazed at the place. Excellent surroundings, decor, position near to the canal, garden area, shop. We had called at lunchtime for a snack. The portions were huge, fresh baked bread, hot and cold meals all freshly prepared, very accommodating staff who could not do enough for you. The tomato soup is absolutely delicious, sausage toastie would do two meals, nice coffee - could not fault it in any way and I am very hard to please. Trust me, GO THERE. you will not be disappointed.

This is a supurb little cafe, with a simple menu that is reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly, and there is always a nice welcoming atmosphere from everyone who works there. The "Full English" breakfast at £6.50 with a good coffee included is well worth the money, and there is always a simple "special" available. They use local produce, and with generous well-cooked portions. Nice thick sliced bacon - none of this commercial packed stuff sliced so thin it only has one side! I didn't want baked beans with my meal, so they gave me extra rations of black pudding to make up! The little shop at the front has a good stock of local beers, cider, cheeses etc too so this an interesting little pit-stop. Plenty of parking too. Anyone looking to open a cafe and see how it should be done would do well to visit this place.

On our way back from a night with friends we were looking for somewhere to stop for breakfast when we came upon Calveley Mill. We both had the small breakfast which was more than ample, sausage, bacon, hash brown, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms and toast, all really well cooked and tasty, efficient service and friendly staff. Reasonably priced too.You must pop into the small shop there just to see the amazing amount of cheeses, jams and chutneys.

Had our first canal boat trip this week, and stopped at the rear of this lovely little cafe, me and the husband and our 2 German Shepherds. The staff were really friendly, helpful, everything was clean and the food was hot, fresh and tasty. Hubby had an amazing freshly made fish finger sandwich, salad and a coffee, I had the best egg Mayo sandwich in a long time, pot of tea and then hubby and the dogs had vanilla ice cream which was exceptionally creamy. Great value, well worth a visit.

I had not noticed the Cafeteria and Shop until recently and yesterday decided to stop and sample. What a treat. It was lunch time, we moored our narrowboat immediately behind on rings - there is good parking in front also. I chose a sausage and cheese toasted sandwich which was served with a salad garnish whilst me husband opted for a full breakfast sandwich (bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, mushrooms). Both meals contained good quality produce and were reasonably priced with generous proportions. I would not hesitate to recommend and would certainly return. We purchased cheese and chutney in the shop following our lunch.

What can I say about this cafe? Truly awful experience. The cafe itself is dark no natural light other than a brief glimpse when you enter the building. We ordered one white coffee and one capuccino both tasted pretty bad. I was considering having a shave using the foam from the capuccino as it resembled soap suds. Orderd to small muffins to go with drinks but sent them back as they were rock hard and I hadn't brough a small hammer with me to open them up. The shop has a great range of cheeses but half the shelves were empty and reminded me of shopping in Eastern Europe. The cafe could do with a decent coffee machine and perhaps someone who can make good coffee. Really poor fare. Prices were reasonable just a shame the food and drink didn't match the cost.

This place has a vast amount of things for children to play on. However don’t expect to get food quick- they have two cage areas but one is never open and the other has a constant huge queue because the staff take forever! Even if you want drinks you have to queue with the food and last time we queued for 25 minutes! Ridiculous when you have children to supervise and feee!

The most appalling 'meal' and service that I have ever been subjected to. We ordered steak and ale pie and this was brought out to us and placed on our table and described as a pie. However, there was absolutely no pastry, just a bit of gravy in a dish. When I called the waiter back he said 'to be honest, we've ran out of pastry' - are these people for real? To add insult to injury, the manager actually tried to charge us for the pies we never received!!!! Shambolic and not for the first time, but definitely for the last. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY!!!!

Average food more like a pub, raw onion in the scotch egg bhaji, bang bang cauliflower poor, fish and chips were tiny and fish dry. So over priced for below average food.
