The best restaurants serving British food in North West

We went for Sunday roast dinner, the food was first class, great service and good atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips with a twist from Jolly Roger’s! I had the masala fish, and it was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. The homemade Tandy Mix Sauce was a game-changer refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal. Great food, great service—highly recommend!

Quite possibly one of the best breakfast rolls I’ve had, coffee was excellent and the service was so welcoming and friendly. I stopped in half way though my Steel Rigg to Lanercost Hadrians wall walk, will be skipping the rest of the way. What a lovely cafe. 100% worth a visit.

BOOKED FOR SUNDAY LUNCH, AS ALWAYS THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC AND THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY, WHY 4 STARS! WE WERE SEATED IN THE RECEPTION ROOM OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT WHICH AFFECTED THE WHOLE AMBIANCE OF THE EXPERIENCE, MAY ASWELL HAVE BEEN SITTING AT HOME. BABY SHOWER PEOPLE ARRIVED, SO WE WERE SURROUNDED BY BOXES AND BALLOONS WHILST WE WERE EATING BEFORE THEY WERE TAKEN ELSEWHERE. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED WHEN BOOKING IF THE RESTAURANT WAS FULL AND WE WOULD HAVE CHANGED THE DATE. DISAPPOINTING SEATING ARRANGEMENT.

We stumbled on this café on our arrival. We were looking for a late lunch venue. Number Forty Four, was warm and welcoming. We all chose various sandwiches and either wine or a slim beer. The staff were chatty and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience. We returned the following day for lunch and immediately booked a table for breakfast on our final day. Highly recommended

Yet again we have had an exceptional evening at THE Rockwood. Ambiance, artistry, attention to detail, authenticity and astounding. This place is a pinnacle of independent restaurants. So so so much more than a Bistro. It is unique experience and is the sum of many parts. It's a privilege to spend the Eve there for so many reasons. Seriously must be one of the top restaurants on the Wirral and competes at the highest of levels with others across the water. It's a genuine product of hard work, creativity and tender love and care from both Chris and Pauline over an extended period of their lives. I haven't even talked of food and wine. It's spectacular in a sublime setting. Tucked away. It's like Narnia of dining .........one you go through those huge doors........

The best cafe in Macclesfield, Zav, the owner, is lovely, very friendly and helpful, he makes all the food fresh every day. The mezze platter is very tasty with a good selection of authentic turkish flavours. There is also a daily special plus sandwiches, wraps, breakfast, English and Turkish at reasonable prices

Lovely little cafe ,great food ,great service ,and nice homely feeling will return soon.The chef is a miracle worker turning out wonderful food in a small kitchen.

Everything that’s made here is fresh. The pies and everything are all home made. It takes me back to living with my Nan. The food is first rate every time I order from here.

Went for the first time today, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the menu had good choices, and the food was lovely and well presented and the staff where very friendly and nice, will be going back 😊
