Had lunch today and it was fantastic. The portion sizes are huge and the food is extremely tasty. We ordered a chicken parmo baguette and a cowboy burger. The photographs speak for themselves. Staff are super friendly and this really is a hidden gem.

You get a personal service which is flexible and meets your needs. Everyone is friendly and remembers your name , well behaved dogs are welcome and spoilt. The food is lovely, take out or sit in. Everything has been done to make you feel safe and well fed in these difficult times. I think it is suitable for all types of customer, I do not feel awkward when I am by myself or have my dog.

Met the mam himself there. The legend, Harvey. I am sure one day people will be wanting to visit his eatery as much as that Salt Bae bloke. Wonderful Chinese chicken! I'm sure the cellar bar will be open at some point soon!

I popped in for drink one tuesday night, got involved in the fun quiz and have been going back every Tuesday night, and live microphone nights and busker nights, this is your village pub with its good selection of beers and lagers, wine by the glass or bottle, and double maxim a Sunderland brew made by the defunct Vaux Brewery and Newcastle Brown,,and to sit and take easy by one of the two real fires yes it full marks to Trish And Mick for keeping the old ambiance

Had my dinner here today and thought I should probably write a google review at some point given how often I've visited over the years. The pressed lamb burger with sweet potato and red cabbage salad was just what I needed. This place is a hidden gem and more people in Sunderland and beyond should know about it. On a high street full of fast food and junk food outlets it stands alone as a fresh, healthy and good quality choice. Zoe is a friendly face and takes the time to get to know her regulars which I think is an added touch. Ask for an 'Anything Sandwich'...

I was working in the area today so popped in on the recommendation of a local colleague. I chose a choc orange brownie, a Malteser slice and a plum and almond tart. All had generous amounts of filling/topping and were a good size for the price. My family enjoyed them all and I will definitely be returning!

Please hire more staff for the weekend because it is very busy, and there is a long wait for the order to be taken
