Absolutely delicious food at affordable prices! Ultra friendly lady and the chef! Fantastic little spot in Sunderland.

Been meaning to try here for sometime. Well made it today and have to say was great value for money. Won’t be my last visit for sure

I've looked at the FB pages for ages thinking that I must order from here. Well, today I did and I am so glad that I did. Ordered the lamb kebab and its delicious! It's a large portion (for me) so that is tea sorted too. Will definitely go back and try more dishes. Well worth the money.

What a breath of fresh air this is. The couple running UTK really run this with their hearts. Lovely, healthy, creative, freshly prepared dishes that change frequently with great value for money. Lovely heathy smoothies, we will be back frequently.

Living here for many years , decided to pop in here , Tuna with salad ,and I can honestly say , is delicious, so much too , I halved this for later , and I will surely be back very soon , service was excellent, very pleasant and helpful ,full marks in my rating ,I wished I tried it sooner ,but 1 very happy customer here !

I"ve driven past this place on Sundays when it's not open and wondered what it's like. Yesterday I got the chance to find out. They sell a lovely array of sandwiches but I fancied something hot so I had lamb belly which was fabulous. good sized portion too. Seriously, this food is amazing, you must go! Food cooked with love if you don't mind me being too over the top. Turns out that they have just opened a restaurant in the centre of Sunderland - opposite the old Joplings building - so I'm going for lunch asap. Staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. One lunch was for my very old dad and you had suggestions about what was most suitable which was great.

Only got sausage sandwich really nice, lovely people serving I would recommend it.

Friendly informative staff with a good selection of freshly cooked breakfast and lunches always on offer.

We popped in today after work to grab some lunch on the way home. This place is fab! So clean and everything is so well presented. The food is lovely, healthy and so varied i dont feel guilty at all eating it. The price for what we had was great and the owners were so friendly. We will make this a regulat occurance after work on saturdays.

Been there a couple of times now and I can't praise this couple enough, the food is absolutely amazing service is fantastic, nothing is to much trouble for this couple, for a small shop in a shopping parade, this place is outstanding, you must try it and be amazed at the quality of their menu. Thanks for the most lovely food we have had in ages. We will be back.

I discovered this place about 6 months ago. Decided to nip in and try one of their specials, which appear on the wall each day (I check them out via Instagram before I go down and visit). This is how to eat healthy! The combination of flavours and the mix of healthy ingredients makes this not only one of the healthiest lunches around but the tastiest. I would quite happily pay a few pound more for the portion size. If I lived a bit closer, I'd visit this little gem every day for lunch. For now though, it remains as a treat. Highly recommend this place.

We have been here a few times in the last couple of weeks & can’t fault the food or service, delicious healthy food and plenty of it in each portion. Tried a different meal each time and simply can’t fault anything about the place 👌 ..... fantastic friendly service from start to finish & the food is simply fantastic 👏

Now we have to spoil ourselves with yummy breakfasts as well as fabulous lunches. The breakfast wrap was declared lovely and devoured. Poached egg & wild mushrooms on sourdough was still runny and lovely by the time I got it home. So tasty! The fresh pea shoots just added a bit of vibrancy. Favourite lunches recently are -Thai spiced beef wrap and chicken satay. Restaurant standard but at home. Thank you Michael and Zoe! I’ll be in for our weekly fix, and some sourdough bread! I’d add another star if I could!

Saw this place on BBC regional Tv news a few months ago and wanted to try it as it sounded good.I have checked their online menu regularly but was never nearby at the right time (I didn’t realise you could preorder by phone and collect). Timing was right today and we had minced beef kebabs with a box of salads. Great everything.........food, service, taste, price, and nutritional value. What a good addition for Sunderland. I CANNOT recommend this highly enough and will visit again very soon.

This was the 3rd visit to this eatery and it did not disappoint. Got Cajun belly pork which came with pitta bread, half a sweet jacket potato and loads of salad, bargain at £4.50.You can see the food being cooked in front of you so you know it's fresh. The delicatessen counter looks gorgeous and everything looks really fresh. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back

Had 2 lovely lunch boxes, one with peri peri chicken, sweet potato, rice, red cabbage and lovely bits of salad and the other half had mince beef with pitta bread, tomatoes, couscous...- also declared yummy. The salad box had a great range of fresh ingredients including slice of fresh pomegranate, bits of baked apple, new potatoes, kale… an interesting and very tasty mix. Calling ahead and ordering seems to be the thing to do. They also serve drinks and you could wait around as they have coffee and drinks, but is it takeaway. Very busy when we arrived at start of service- understandably. Lovely friendly lady on the counter took our order while we shopped.Support your independent shops- such good quality. Lovely fresh ingredients- worth seeking out!

I’ve visited The Urban Terrace Kitchen Delicatessen numerous times and throughly enjoy it each time! It is absolutely excellent for a healthy meal. Salads are packed full with a wide variety of delicious fruits & vegetables, none of the boring iceberg, cucumber & tomato combo here ! They use fresh & local ingredients, which is fantastic and the couple who own & work this place seem so passionate to deliver a great experience all round !! Visited this amazing gem of a place again today and the food just gets better and better. Slow roast pork shoulder and black pudding cooked to absolute perfection. This is a takeaway on Pallion road that outclasses all the rest. I've lost out on a couple of dishes because I got there too late but as long as it stays busy and thriving then I'm happy. Best food place to open on Pallion ever.

My wife and I decided to visit this takeaway after a recommendation from a friend.From the moment we arrived we knew this would be a great little takeaway.The place is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean - this coupled with knowledgeable and friendly staff we knew we were onto a winner.As we only wanted a light lunch we opted for a couple of ciabatta - both of which were absolutely superb, fresh and tasty fillings and exceptionally good value.What surprised us even more was the specials board - restaurant standard, fresh, local meat and fish dishes - we’ll be back today to sample them as they seem sensational.This takeaway is a real hidden gem and the crap spouted by Sunderland Council regarding to many takeaways in Pallion simply does not apply to this place - rather than tarring all businesses with the same brush they ought to get off their backsides and actually visit this place.All in all a superb local business that deserves every recognition.

This little gem in Pallion is my favourite place to pick up a lunch box when i am in the area. I don't visit as often as i would like, but when i am in the area i look on their facebook to see the daily delights and i am never disappointed. Michael and Zoe always give remember me and chat like they only seen me yesterday. The flavours and variety of ingredients in their dishes is just delicious. Picked up freshly made sourdough bread and a protein cake today as well.

The food is of amazing quality and Michael tries to source as locally as possible Difficult to single out one fave dish so here are a few... BBQ pork... Steak... St Luke's Terrace is often mocked for the high volume of food outlets, however The Urban Terrace Kitchen is not to be ranked or judged alongside the fast food eateries, this establishment is second to none. The menu, that is set daily on account of local produce supply, offers something for all tastes. Orders are prepared and cooked for the customer to see and served in a contemporary package. The proprietors are friendly and generous with their time and attention. Treat yourself to a high quality meal at an affordable price. Unreservedly recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous..staff very welcoming and food so so tasty

For too long Pallion has been swamped with high calorie, fast food chain takeaways. This lovely family run deli is a welcome sight! Everything is made fresh daily and the menu is to die for. We’ve ate from here the last two days as we’ve been working in the area and I’m still looking forward to trying other things on the special menu. Very reasonably priced too for what you get and the coffee is top notch! Just goes to show that people in Sunderland don’t always want a sea of greasy food takeaways in their neighbourhoods. This del brings something very different!

Absolute little gem of a place that serves exceptional food. Offering a healthy but affordable alternative to all of the fast-food outlets in Pallion. The daily specials are a must and the cherry on the cake is the personable service the you receive. I’ll definitely be visiting again!

I got a chicken chilli salad box with lots of other stuff you wouldn’t expect from a shop on the high street in Pallion. You might see stuff like this in trendy parts of London. Hand cooked and prepared in front of me. Chicken breast, Sweet potato, lentils, crunchy vegetables mixed in with fresh coriander.....Delicious.

Visited after a recommendation from a friend who uses regularly for lunch stops. The food was fresh and different - had a special chicken and salad box with chilli and ginger. Was really different. Would certainly return.

Went with a friend for a cookery evening course with Michael. Absolutely amazing from start to finish. He had organised a fabulous three course meal for us to cook and take home including a bottle of wine. Learned how to clean and gut a fish and prepare a fabulous meal with seabass. He gave us lots of cookery tips and ideas and the whole evening was brilliant. Would highly recommend as either a Christmas gift for somebody or to increase your own cooking knowledge

Love this place it's so clean and tidy with lovely staff and the options are different from the usual quick dinner delis. Maybe a bit pricy for a cheap lunch but the ingredients are high quality and different. Love it

Paid another visit to this charming little Deli in Pallion. The owners are so lovely and are happy to help and make recommendations. The Chef, one of the owners, makes all of his food fresh to order and it is divine. They are always happy to cater for my often complex dietary requirements. The other half of the dynamic duo of owners runs the front of the shop and is so welcoming and friendly when you come in. I can't rate this Deli enough. It's ideal for lunch. The specials change everyday and there is always something for everyone irrespective of your preference or fancy! 100% beef burger - 5/5It was still hot when I got it home too which I was thrilled with! Will certainly be back!

I had the tuna and salad which came with cous cous, salad leaves, egg, sweet potato, tomatoes and so much more!! Hubby had the scotch egg and salad and flat bread. Where to start....the owners are super pleasant, the choice of food is varying each day as the specials board throws up some great combinations. The ingredients are always fresh and of high quality. For me TUTK is by far the best place in the City if you are looking for a quick, reasonably priced lunch with a difference. The Specials menu changes everyday and is extremely diverse catering for most pallets. The owners, Zoe and Mike, are very friendly and welcoming. Popped in here to grab some lunch for my friend and I to take away .. we had a salad box each from the specials board ... we are both trying to be good for holidays ... the salad was a lovely little mix of all kinds .. rice pasta grilled peppers olives ... a little of everything .. which beats just leaves .. I had pan fried seabass and mackerel on top and my friend had grilled squid ... both amazing ... super tasty and very healthy to boot .. mmm ... can't wait to finish my diet so I can try the fabulous ciabattas ...

I went here as the reviews were excellent. The lady in the shop was really nice very polite. I decided to order a box with crab in and salad. When I opened it up I must admit I was quite disappointed with what I got for £5.00. There wasn't alot in the box at all and very little crab. The box was mostly salad and olives. The quality of the food was good though but I would definitely want abit more for £5.00.

The fresh fruit pots as good as any we had in Spain, really refreshing and filling for a light lunch. The children love the smoothies. This Deli just keeps giving with it's variety of dishes every day. Food always first class in taste and presentation. Keep up the good work Michael and Zoe, putting Pallion back on the map for food.

Came here thinking (stupidly) it was a cafe (due to mother telling us it was!) but found a deli. But who cares?! All the food is fresh that day, and have a very unusual selection of take-out meals e.g. fresh boiled crab, grilled sea bass and then there are vegan and veggie choices. Portions are more than amble and tasty. Even bread is veggie suitable. Prices are sensible - £6.00 for a fresh boiled crab with loads of different sides. Parking is easy. Those who know Pallion area would wonder why the owners have come here, but don't let that stop you, come (maybe more places like this will move here and it will become a 'in' place to live and visit!), the owners are very helpful and provide grate service.

I started going to this deli in November after hearing great things about it. It did not disappoint! I go most days for my lunch & often take a salad box home for my evening meal also.Everything is so fresh! Always plenty of different options each day, great variety on the salad boxes also, so you never get bored with the choices. Lovely fresh houmous, olives, cous cous, potato salad, chutneys, deli meats, fresh fish straight from the Quay & more!Great place if you're watching your waistline & trying to eat healthy but also great if you want some proper comfort food. Not had a single dish that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. To top it off, the owners are lovely! Always very welcoming & accommodating. Well done urban terrace kitchen. Five stars all the way

Been before to this friendly DELI in Pallion Sunderland. It's a little shop with a big heart!!! This time we had the fresh fish with sweet potato wedges, really tasty. Love the way you can flavour your own water and they now do smoothies. Everything is healthy eating and cooked fresh as you order.

Finally went on 9/1/17. Staff were really friendly and all of the food looked great. Ordered the special of chicken strip/pitta salad, leek and potato soup and a box salad for later in the day. All of the food was fresh & delicious! Will definitely be back and can't recommend it enough!!

From the minute we walked in, we felt so welcomed by the two lovely people who owned the place. They offer specials daily but every day is something different, also offer a selection of other foods so it caters for everyone. Previously worked with the chef and he is an amazing worker and his food is devine so I would 100% recommend to go and visit.

I sampled the marinated beef stir fry that was on the specials yesterday and it was gorgeous. The feel of the deli is great ....you could forget you walked in from an urban Street ! really well presented and the staff are friendly and professional. Selection is second to none for the area. I will be visiting again very soon!

Full of variety & great flavours. This has become one of my favourite places for lunch in Sunderland. Both Mike and Zoe offer excellent customer service and the daily menu provides a variety of treats to suit all tastes. Something different to the standard high street shops with plenty of creative and healthy options. Today's healthy fish and chips option was full of flavour and cooked fresh for my arrival. Been to the urban terrace kitchen on st Luke's terrace for lunch. Had a fantastic irish stew which was very tasty, meat melted in your mouth. Defiantly be back for more, especially in this weather. As usual service was first rate, food freshly made and worth every penny. You cannot beat this deli for good service and freshness.

Thanks for making Christmas Eve buffet a breeze with home made sausage rolls and sharing boards, there was more than we could eat and was very tasty! I love this place, the food is beautiful and the service is top notch. My favourite sandwich is pork belly, black pudding mayo with kale. Everything is so fresh and delicious and a total taste sensation! Today I bought sausage rolls I'm sure they had chorizo in, definitely black pudding and I'm not sharing them! I'm pretty sure no one will get near my pate aswell! I'm a total advocate of Urban Terrace, best around!

Just had a lovely roast beef sandwich on ciabatta with caramelised onion, horseradish and Mayo. Fresh and delicious.

My partner and I have visited this divine little Deli in Pallion a good three times now and I am utterly confident that we will keep on coming back for more and more. You cannot fault the place! The first thing I'll say is that the premises is amazingly decorated, it gives that village deli ambiance the second you walk in the door. It is that first impression that just cements in your mind that you are going to be getting something good. The food there is wonderful, my personal favourite being the burger from the specials board. Every mouthful is divine. The hot chocolate is unequivocally good too! I have noticed they do these sharing boards too and they look amazing. I think one of the things I like most is the way in which the specials is different every day and yet so diverse with new dishes all of the time! The staff there are great too, the Irish girl behind the counter is one hell of a barista and the short, old chef man is unbelievably skilled - I think he has won awards and competitions in the past and I noticed a photo of him in a book in the window of the shop talking about how good he is... I mean that's how you know what you're getting is quality! Can't wait for my next visit!
