Most beautiful food, all hot and fresh and the fish is lovely. The curry and gravy are also lovely and they do gluten free

You get a personal service which is flexible and meets your needs. Everyone is friendly and remembers your name , well behaved dogs are welcome and spoilt. The food is lovely, take out or sit in. Everything has been done to make you feel safe and well fed in these difficult times. I think it is suitable for all types of customer, I do not feel awkward when I am by myself or have my dog.

Had my dinner here today and thought I should probably write a google review at some point given how often I've visited over the years. The pressed lamb burger with sweet potato and red cabbage salad was just what I needed. This place is a hidden gem and more people in Sunderland and beyond should know about it. On a high street full of fast food and junk food outlets it stands alone as a fresh, healthy and good quality choice. Zoe is a friendly face and takes the time to get to know her regulars which I think is an added touch. Ask for an 'Anything Sandwich'...

You could easily miss this little patisserie located at the entrance of Houghton business park, but it is well worth a visit. Here you could order an individual celebration cake or you could purchase scones and cakes from their little shop. I would strongly recommend the malteser brownie, possibly the best brownie I have ever had, but the caramel slice and scones are also amazing.

First time at the City Bistro, whilst today’s meal wasn’t that good, we would definitely go back, we mentioned that we were a little disappointed, the manager said today we were served and food preparation was by level one students, so we understood, however I think the head teaching staff should have been on the pass and not allowed the food to go out to customers. We have eaten at the previous restaurant on North Hilton road , it was like eating at a fine dining restaurant , we will return to City Bistro in the future but would try to book when level four students are on. All catering and hospitality students have to start at the bottom, best of luck to them for their future career and
