Wow! We literally have no words! Kenny and the team were an absolute delight. We have been to many Michelin and 2 Michelin stars, but this has been the most enjoyable evening. The staff are just wonderful, the knowledge they share amongst them to make you feel at home is incredible and having low level modern music playing makes you feel at home in an extremely relaxed environment. This is a superb Michelin star, food and service worthy but with an amazing personable experience. The food was truly exceptional, we can honestly say we've never tasted food like it. For us it's the "why". Most places tell you what they've done and how they've done it, but the team tell you why the food has been cooked in a certain way and quite honestly the pictures cannot do the level of intricacy justice. This is definately a bucket list restaurant.

Popped into the garden centre early morning and noticed a new coffee shed. Very nice coffee and delicious bakes. Seating is available, quite rustic as in the poly tunnel but warm and blankets are provided. Dog friendly too.

I enjoyed another fantastic experience at House of Tides last weekend. This restaurant is for me the best in the north east! The venue itself is beautiful and full of charm and very welcoming. the food is unbelievably good, incredible combinations of excellent ingredients, the kitchen really do know their craft, hard to pick out one dish however the stone bass was truly magnificent! The team here manage to balance the "formality" of fine dining in a warm relaxed manner, professional, knowledgable and so subtle with their attention to detail. A must if you're in Newcastle! Thanks to Kenny and his amazing team for a very memorable evening.

Don't make a booking here. Staff were great, however the owner is not - effectively lied in order to steal £100 from us. We booked the upstairs for a meeting, and the owner claimed we didn't inform them of the meeting details, making up excuses to keep the £100 deposit. When booking we were fully informative, but when we raised this our number was blocked - very unprofessional way of dealing with customers.

Had a great afternoon here with my wife. Great prices and the bar staff are tremendous. A big shout out for Claire the barmaid who couldn't have made us more welcome and went above and beyond to make our afternoon even better. This lovely lady saved us a great deal and welcomed us to a saving app. It's great. (Money off booze. Say no more). Thank you Claire. We definitely recommend this pub. It's stood the test of time and will definitely be here for a lot more years to come. Proper pub. Proper people and Proper bar staff. Thank you. See you soon 🍻🍻🍻

Had a great lunch in the Magpie club today. It was lunch with Santa. We had really good food and I loved the pink roast beef. The Santa experience was nice too. The service was also lovely it felt like lots of the servers were new to it. So I mention these things as a little more polish would help. Four examples; table was set for bread but no bread was served and we had to ask for ours after the starters were delivered. Other tables were then sorted as a consequence. Second, we ordered tap water for the table with our drinks order and had to ask again at main course (the server was most apologetic). Third the menu said garlic bread with cheese as a kids starter and we got garlic bread. I pointed it out and all garlic breads after that were then cheesy. We ordered a cheese course and it came without biscuits a knife or butter. These things didn’t spoil our experience in the slightest but if they were sorted then it would have been a much smoother experience. We will definitely be back as the food, ambience, service and experience were all good.

Ye Olde Fleece is a fantastic local pub that offers a decent range of beers and can be found on High street in Gateshead. Ye Olde Fleece was one of several pub's in Gateshead that we visited and had a beer on tap which we haven't had in a long time which was McEwan's beer. Ye Olde Fleece itself is a joy to go to as the pub has a good atmosphere with nice staff and friendly locals and well priced beers. With a traditional pub interior and brilliant seating options throughout the whole pub interior and its a joy to visit especially of a Monday as it was very lively. When we visited we had a pint of McEwans dark beer which I haven't had in year's but it was fantastic and well priced at £2.50 for a pint. This is a superb pub and well worth visiting and very easy to find from High Street bus stop it's a short walk.(This is my first review of Ye Olde Fleece). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-11.00-00.00 Sunday-11.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. High Street bus stop.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We kicked off the evening with a few drinks and a selection of starters that were simply delicious—each dish was prepared to perfection and bursting with flavour. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. It set the tone for a truly memorable evening. To make things even more convenient, we stayed at the Premier Inn right next door. The room was comfortable, and after an amazing night, we headed down for breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was just what we needed—plenty of variety, all freshly prepared, and served by the most polite and accommodating staff. Bar + Block Steakhouse and the Premier Inn made for a winning combination. Whether you’re in Newcastle for a night out or a short stay, I can’t recommend this duo highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!
