Called with my daughter for the first time June ‘23 after hearing positive reports from friends. We weren’t disappointed in any way. Nice menu with savoury and sweet items - some lovely cakes on offer too. Service was A1 - parking directly next door and a couple of outside tables too. We enjoyed it.

Wonderful local place to meet for Breakfast, lunch, brunch and early supper. Friendly staff and large portions. After too many years, feels like family. Really care about customers.

My wife and I were I the area for a wedding. We are not locals by any stretch. Whilst I can find things to eat anywhere my wife has medical issues that heavily impact on her dietary options. We were directed to this place by the bride. She goes there regularly after walks along the Tyne with her, now, husband. I emailed the venue the previous day asking if they could do her a very cheesy omelette. I was assured that she could indeed have a very cheesy omelette. It is worthy of note that I contacted several locations in similar terms. Only Staithes responded. It is a little out of the way. I was concerned that the Satnav had got it wrong as were directed into a housing estate. However, the venue was where it was meant to be. It is clearly popular. Young, old, parents, dog walkers- all represented. There are two floors but we stayed downstairs. I have read of issues with dogs on seats which upset one visitor. I ama dog lover but would be similarly unimpressed had we experienced that. Fortunately the dogs were well behaved. Ordering took a while as there was a queue. We drew a fair bit of attention as we were all suited and booted for the wedding whilst jeans, jumpers and coats were the order of the day for everyone else. I had a sausage sandwich which was lovely. My wife had a very cheesy omelette and hash browns. Unfortunately her experience was not so positive. Her hash browns were not good at all. Her omelette was very disappointing. Part of it was significantly undercooked. We did not pursue the matter as we wanted to find our way to the wedding in good time. It is a pity that I have to be less than completely complimentary because the venue is well placed for walkers. It is clean, the menu boards are humourous, the staff I spoke to were friendly and polite. However, 1 out of 2 customers on my table were not happy. I hope that they can sort it out as it could be really great. Currently I have to say the potential is great but the execution is lacking.

A first class stay. We were really well looked after and the facilities were excellent. We are in the restaurant on our first evening and the food/service were top class Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it served with a smile We would happily recommend a stay here
