Kathleen's Ryton in Gateshead

We called in at this lovely licensed café for lunch and were lucky to find a free table. The mother and daughter team were very welcoming and friendly. The list of light lunches, cold sandwiches, toasties, paninis was extensive and the home baked cakes displayed on the counter were a delight for the eyes. We ordered 3 paninis ( Bacon Brie Cranberry and BBQ Chicken Bacon) all served with salad and crisps: they were delicious. The cakes (Mint Aero Tiffin and Chocolate Caramel shortbread) were out of this world 😋. Well done to Pauline and Jill.

Called with my daughter for the first time June ‘23 after hearing positive reports from friends. We weren’t disappointed in any way. Nice menu with savoury and sweet items - some lovely cakes on offer too. Service was A1 - parking directly next door and a couple of outside tables too. We enjoyed it.

Called in today for the Sunday brunch, the service and food was absolutely fantastic, way more than we thought, Annelise was a great member of staff , Good luck with her future job as a airline pilot 👩‍✈️

We took our son and daughter in law there last week for a late lunch and were very impressed indeed. The only downside was that it was busy so we waited quite a long time to eat but let that not detract from what was a great experience. The place was warm and cosy and all spotlessly clean. My son is vegetarian but there was a decent choice on the menu and i think if he had asked they would have made something suitable. My husband and I had paninis and really enjoyed them and there was a huge display of cold drinks including alcoholic ones. We all had either tea or soft drinks and we will definitely go back In fact my son has just presented us with afternoon tea vouchers and can't wait to return. We'll done Kathleen's!

Good food, not large options, but enough to give you choices. Great quality and made fresh to order on site.
