The best restaurants serving British food in Central Darlington North East

Lovely family run business. Food was made on the premises and was great. The sausage rolls and cakes are amazing, we will definatly be going again. Friendly efficient staff and beautiful little tea room.

Really good food and really friendly staff and at good prices would go again

From the heart this place offers excellent support for the over 50's in regards to the likes of help and support for benefits etc. However, the cafeteria is not good at all and the beverages are below average. Over priced and worse than school dinner meals.

Food was fantastic and really tasty! Service however wasn't great. When we arrived, we were directed to a table with no menus and no cutlery which wasn't a problem we just asked for them. Menus arrived and after 15 minutes of waiting we asked to order drinks and food together. 10 minutes later, husband's drink arrives but mine doesn't. Waited and waited but no drink so after another 20 minutes I asked for my drink as well as a second drink for him. Also asked again for some cutlery. Waitress apologised but then served my husband his second drink before 5 minutes later serving me my first. So after sitting there for 45 minutes he was onto his second drink before my first drink had even arrived at the table. Drink arrived shortly after followed by the food. However still no cutlery so when she brought my husband's food I asked again for some cutlery and again she apologised but brought it shortly after. The atmosphere was good and yes there were a lot of tables in but the staff just didn't seem very attentive and were either nowhere to be seen or just stood behind the desk chatting and not making sure everything was okay or if anyone needed anything. Everything we needed tonight we had to ask for multiple times apart from paying the bill.

Love coming to Hatch, we often get a coffee and Bacon Ciabatta to go and sometimes sit in. Never had a bad experience, food is always delicious, service is great. Buttermilk chicken bowl is one of my favourites, popped in today for scrambled eggs on sourdough and a coffee…great coffee, great food, great place!

Only popped in as my car was getting its m.o.t. nearby. Glad we did. Quite possibly the best beef baguette I've had. Good quality meat, very tasty gravy and actually proper homemade chips. Oh and the coffee was nice too.

Estábamos buscando un café por la mañana y potencialmente un lugar para almorzar con amigos. Era demasiado pequeño y ocupado para el almuerzo, pero tomamos un café. Mi blanco plano era muy bueno. Los pasteles se veían bien.

Gran servicio me encanta la pequeña sensación hogareña de la zona de la cafetería los precios son muy razonables el menú es muy tradicional volveremos a visitar pronto gracias.

My last visit wasn't pleasant because of the service unfortunately. Will choose different places next time. How you talk to customers is important.

This is a stylish bar on the main square of Darlington. The interior had a relaxed and easy going atmosphere and the staff were friendly. The menu was vast. The portion sizes were enormous and the food was delicious. Another great thing was that dogs are welcome in this venue.

Excellent beer based bar in Darlington recommended to me by a resident in Richmond. I was looking for a US type IPA with fresh tasting hops and was recommended to try both Virtuous and Hop Sessions, both from the UK. Hop Sessions was so good I had to consume another pint!

Love patting the goats and riding in the enchanted subway train ride. Best day out ever!!
