The best restaurants serving British food in Haggerston Hackney London

After waiting months from booking to go for lunch, we had high expectations. The reality was even higher, our lunch was remarkable in every way. Truly delicious, every course had depth of flavour and texture. How Kirk could do this with no egg, milk, cream etc is amazing. We had both the wine flight and the non-alcoholic flight and both compliment the food brilliantly. The service was spot on, friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing experience the food was divine ( and I don’t say that lightly ) . Especially poignant for me was, how good they were for coeliacs ( every chef’s nightmare )I was able to eat most of the small plates … Oyster with elderflower & vinegar granita , Beef tartare, pepper sauce and crisps were my fav’s . Wine was delicious too

This gaff is amazing and the food is second to none can't fault it even when you call up for local hime delivery amazing service only thing I'd say would make things 100 times easier is if they were on deliveroo but deffo will be calling again next week for my monthly pie and mash

Tasty coffee and a great brownie. The lemon juice was made way too strong and with too much ginger. Also we were automatically assumed to takeaway where we actually were eating in so some packing could have been saved.

It was just half an hour before this cafe closed and it was a cosy and very friendly atmosphere .Very fresh pastries and hot chocolate were amazing. Thank you 😊 I will be back soon

Visited for a Friday night dinner with 2 friends and wow, were we impressed with the food! We were recommended a few dishes by our waitress and the chef, which didn’t disappoint. Absolute must haves are the scotch egg (the best we have ever had), marmite glazed chicken thigh, scallops with black pudding butter, and duck breast. Leave room for dessert as they were delightful! Service was well paced and we were well looked after. A lovely ambience with great interiors- more of a restaurant vibe than a pub. A great place for date night or for dinner with friends. Will be back soon to try the rest of the menu!
