The Macbeth in Hackney

The Macbeth on Hoxton Street? Top notch, innit? Lovely gaff, proper comfy. Cocktails? Blumin' amazing, some of the best in Shoreditch, no doubt. But the real gem? The atmosphere! You won't find a better buzz anywhere. Top place, alright?

Awesome place and great music , well worth a visit. The vibe was really good and would highly recommend to find new music and artsist

Great spot for some live music and a few drinks :) Five bands on a Thursday night. What's not to like?

Came by this pub by chance whilst visiting Hoxton. We were drawn in by the 2 for 1 cocktail board outside and soooo glad we were. We had 2 expresso martinis and they were amazing!!! So much so we stayed and had another 4. Refurbished in October and the decor is really cool. Will definitely return when we’re back in the area!

I was there when my first time I was in London I have some sentimental feelings. Today it was something very different… Same same but different ;-). Inside have change a lot. I got 2 amazing cocktails and it was a pity I haven’t time for more.

Love The Macbeth, seen a lot of bands and been to club nights , staff are friendly , relaxed atmosphere, always end up here and never regret it

Macbeth is a fun venue, with reasonably priced (for Hoxton) drinks and really lovely, friendly bar staff. We went in, there were already people half dressed, so I just took my kit off and stuffed it in my backpack. Scar changed into undies n fishnets, and we started painting! The Sharpies are best, the powder paint gets absolutely EVERYWHERE, but it's all good fun. A mixed crowd, I was one of the oldest, but there was a guy there who was at least 70. And all colours, shapes and sizes.

This place is just great! I hired their private room for my 30th birthday and I have to say this place is just amazing. The bar guy was great so friendly. Security great also! Management great. Thanks all!

The converted pub is set back off the main road which in a way is nice as it felt quite private, the space itself was good and the event we went to meant the music was also really good! Drinks were expensive but that is to be expected in the area. Would definitely use this venue again!

I have been here 3 times and on each, the music has been great, the door and bar staff have been polite and drinks were reasonably priced Sure it is just a pub but the vibes are GREAT and altho the toilets are upstairs which is annoying, I love it

This place does in no way reflect its website. Where is the restaurant and the arts vibe? I travelled from Sussex with friends on a thursday night to support my boyfriends gig and we all got chucked out shortly after because my friend had a cap on, in no way were we made aware this was a rule even on entry. Security staff were un reasonable and one very ill mannered and aggressive. This place had no charm, was tatty and cold hearted. The only good thing about it was the people supporting the music and the artists performance...i cant see any other reason anyone would otherwise go there. These paying customers and artists deserve good service, respect and cleanliness. How we treat others leaves a lasting mark and who ever is in charge needs to address this if they want the kind of custom they perceive to be wanting through their website. When i turned up i literally thought id got the wrong venue and at the premature end of the evening I was so dis-hearted that my friend got treated the way he did. The bouncers behaviour was so childish. All in all i think i was there all of an hour after a journey that took me two hours in order to get there. However long or short your journey would take you to get to The Macbeth as reflected in the title of this review, 'don't waste your time' There are better, friendlier venues out there to say you've played at or been to.

Firstly - NOT a restaurant. It is a glorified pub, masquerading as a 'popular' music venue and eatery. Shabby (NOT chic), terrible sound quality (poor system, too loud), toilets in a shocking state (hand dryer not working, no towels etc). On top of this, security staff were beyond rude, behaving aggressively and communicating with all the eloquence of neanderthal man. I will never return here again, and would strongly advise against entering the premises.

This is a great place it's cheap, has good music, reasonable drink prices and just a good atmosphere!!

Abbiamo trascorso una serata entusiasmante in questo club di Hoxton. Ingresso 3£, locale intimo, stuff cordiale e gente tranquilla. Abbiamo partecipato alla serata "Girl Power " in agosto e ci siamo divertiti tutti e tanto. Anche il bodyguard all'ingresso era cordiale e molto disponibile. Unica pecca? Troppo poco alcool nei drink! Non puoi versare la quantitá di uno shot in un bicchiere da cocktail per poi riempirlo con bevande analcoliche. Ma nel complesso è un'esperieza da ripetere. Macbeth has become a go to for our girls night out. This is a place to dance to bad music (bad as in they play hit music from the 90's and 00's as well as a few current top 40's). They also have fun events. Like last night they had a Magic MikeMagic night where they hired a male entertainer. My favourite thing is that this place is its "uncool" by modern standards. Which means a lot of there are a lot less creepy guys and you can let loose without too much worry. One major issue is that every time I go there it takes forever to order a drink. This isn't due to the fact they are busy, but the staff are normally partying also partying and the girls only seem to serve the guys and chat them up until they buy them a drink (I don't know if they actually drink it or if it is a cunny way to make more sales whilst looking like you are having fun). Other than being a little thirsty, I would recommend if you want just a fun cheesy night out.

Шикарный клуб в неприятном месте, рядом трущобы Шордича. Внутри просторно, можно перекусить днем, но вечером здесь играют музыканты. Надо следить за расписанием - оно есть на сайте и на плакате на двери. Цена за вход умеренная - 10 фунтов примерно. Я зашла часа в 4 почитать газету и съесть пай, вечером был концерт, но я уже не вернулась.

Rude and unhelpful staff. We went as a group of friends to watch a gig, the sound was really really poor and the toilets are appalling. Won't be back.
