Micky's Chippy in Hackney

Old, greasy, stale fish . Chips were ok. I’ve used this place afew times over the past few years & mostly it’s been the same old greasy stale mushy fish. . I will not be revisiting this chip shop again, given it enough chances.

Fish good and batter nice and light but oil had a bit of a taste to it. Chips not my fave though but that’s very personal 😊 wish they had proper tartare too not just Heinz squeezey packets. Guys very friendly.

I decided to pay a visit to this chippy as I was in the area but I became deeply disappointed due to the rudeness from one of the workers. I had asked a small request that I wanted a different piece of chicken as oppose to the one I asked for and he told me ‘You want a leg? I’ll give you a leg.’

Best Chippy. Everything is on point, chips, fish, chicken all delicious and the staff are all lovely. Reasonable prices too. Absolutely worth a visit.

Really good & friendly service and great quality & tasty food (I've tried the fish and chips, mushy peas and battered sausage). They also offer a smaller portion (which is already a really generous size and left me super full...!) for the fish and chips which is a great plus !

Some of the best fried fish I've tasted in (East) London. I had Haddock that came in a light, crispy, and tasty batter. Generous portions and friendly staff.

Make sure you get to Micky's chippy by 21:00hrs, seen as it closes an half hour later to get what you want. When it is gone, it's gone!!

Used to go since I was a little girl and it is by far the best chippy ever. Very fond memories of saveloy and chips with pickled onion and gherkin. Shame I don't live round that area anymore.

Love this place! I I always go here for their battered sausage and scampi, and they do good cod too! Thank you guys for the surprise Christmas treat; the wine made my day :)

Main positive = friendly staff, after that it goes downhill. Food just about average.

Fantastic spot for fish and chips. The portions are generous and the fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked, never a shortage on buttered rolls or mushy peas. The chips are perfect on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the way they should be. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the prices are also very reasonable, making it a great option for a quick and satisfying meal

Ate here yesterday for the first time due to other reviews. A very clean shop with good customer service. I had cod and chips - the cod was perfectly cooked along with very tasty chips, great texture. Fork, napkin and wet wipe packet which was offered is a great touch. Summary: Fresh. Flavoursome. Faultless. Fantastic. Five stars for me!

One of , if not the best chip shop, I've been coming here for years for lunch and the food is always great, always feel full after eating here, mushy peas are great and the staff are always very friendly and polite. I would definitely recommend trying. Sausage and Savaloy are really nice. Fish is great. They sell ribs and fried chicken aswell.

This establishment has been my elders first, and at times only fish and chip they would perches from. I'm 49 know and I totally agree and understand why.... Clean, fresh, quality ingredients, well cooked and full of flavour. All served with a welcoming smiling staff. TOP SHOP !!!

Superb chippy. I would say an institution. I have been coming here invariably over the past decade-and-a-half and whatever I get — chips, fried chicken, cod, saveloy, whatever — is as good as I remember the last time. Always well cooked, always well seasoned. I have genuinely never had a bad or mediocre meal from here. Great service from people who really care about their output and the local community. A wonderful family-run business and one of the best chip shops in London.

The nicest family run business I've been to in London. They are so welcoming and it's clear they genuinely really care about everyone that comes in. The fish is also unbelievable, you can smell how good it's going to be when you walk up the road. Will keep going back!

A very nice chippie - of the ones I've tried in the area, this is a firm favourite. The portions are generous, the chips very nice and chunky, and the fish etc. well-cooked in a good batter. The whole thing is joyous grease-filled chippie food!

Best fish and chips in the whole of London in fact UK. The owner has a smile all the time. The Prices are really good. Fresh fish and chips everyday. This is one secret location but you will be hooked onto it once you try🤣 I also love their curry sauce. Weekends it's super busy so call and order your food in advance.

Best fishshop around I drive there from Angel to mickys because it's always fresh hot and very friendly. Worth the drive.
