I’ve been here a couple of times. The pizza is nice, but the service is standoffish and sometimes feels a bit slapdash.

Great pizza place, one of the best I have been to in London. Service also very attentive and polite. We will definitely be back.

Very poor quality of pizza and dough comparing to the really high prices if you need a pizza with anything more than just cheese.The staff looked kind and good workers but the "owner" was just keep running and just bother them(very small place) while they tried to work and keep embarrassing the two female waitresses in from of the customers.Disgusting attitude NEVER spend my money to people like this .

Voy aquí varias veces al mes porque es muy bueno. He probado otras pizzerías que aún son bonitas, pero no tan buenas como Apollo. Su salsa es deliciosa y todo sabe muy fresco. También el alioli de eneldo es increíble. Servicio rápido y amable. Se lo recomiendo a todos.

It's not bad and it's not great. the pizzas are the best items on the menu with the desserts being unremarkable.

Pizzeria Apollo does the MOST AMAZING GLUTEN FREE BASES. My god, they are thin, not spongy or doughy or tough, just.. fresh and absolute perfection. Basically, what you would desire from a pizza base, they've done it gluten free. I have been there about half a dozen times and each visit, 15/10. I always call ahead to book and tell the staff member that I'm a coeliac so I can ensure they have gf dough. The first time we went we didn't book plus went in late and they ran out of gf pizza dough (cuz they're so good) so, if you are gluten intolerant or a coeliac, I'd make it a point to call ahead - it makes things easier for you and the chefs. The staff are nice and considerate regarding allergies (no eye rolling or faces pulled here) and are very attentive. The friendly/funny male waiter took six peoples orders from our party one night, didn't write a single thing down and got everything 100% right, appetisers, sides, drinks and all - talk about impressive. They also have a gf dessert option that's tops too. I'd definitely recommend Pizzeria Apollo. I promise, as a coeliac, there will be no regrets. You will leave full, satisfied and annoyed that your stomach isn't big enough for a second pizza. Even when all I wanted to do was check whether the cheese was pasteurised and safe for my pregnant wife to eat. The answerphone message tells you they don't care. Enough said.

This is the kind of pizza you dream about when you are craving a night of red wine and sour dough. Highly recommend the Guillietta, a thoughtful combination of fennel, sausage and chilli with a kick of lemon zest. If you want bland Bistro then this is not the place for you. But if you like rough surfaces and the best pizza you'll ever taste, drop in at Apollo.

The oven took fire and the pizzeria had to be evacuated. They still managed to make everyone pay for their unfinished dinner and to include a mandatory 12% service charge. Lol. Never again.

This is the best pizza in London, the bases are vegan and they make their own ridiculously delicious vegan mozzarella, which can be paired with a number of toppings which for vegans like myself is a dream come true.Their staff are super friendly and their homemade lemonade is yum!!

So, so, so, so good!! Staff are awesome too. The true test of a great pizza place is how good their specials are, and how good their margarita is. The specials were incredible and so was the classic. We ended up getting an accidental chocolate tarte which was also delicious and spent pretty much our entire meal chatting to the waitress and chef as we were the only ones left.

Leggendo le recensioni mi aspettavo qualcosa in più. La pizza non è male ma neanche ottima, la mia era un po' bruciata sui bordi e alcune parti un po' secche, con poco pomodoro. Il servizio un po' freddo, forse la ragazza è un po' inesperta, la disposizione dei tavoli eccessivamente ravvicinati può non soddisfare tutti ma nel complesso l'atmosfera del locale è, a mio avviso, piacevole e rilassata.

This place quite simply does very good pizza. The restaurant is small but I would say this is the best pizza I have had in Stoke Newington and I go back for it time and time again.

Our pizza's came out pretty burnt around the edges and underneath. We were the only 2 customers in the place so it's not like the staff were rushed. They didn't seem bothered when we mentioned it either. Would not recommend.

Fui con mi novia para una comida barata después del trabajo. Pedimos una pizza cada una y coronada con un tiramisú. La comida era deliciosa y claramente preparada por un chef experto. El personal era amable hasta la cuenta vino. Le pedimos amablemente que para el 5 libras. 75 por servicio a eliminarse, como la botella de tinto de la casa era de £22, lo que es exorbitante para una red house - especialmente cuando yo soy un pobre estudiante de investigación. So my fiancé and I were craving pizza on Saturday night and I was feeling particularly fussy, only wanting to go somewhere that would serve a pizza marinara. We found Pizzeria Apollo which was not too far from us and yes! It was the right decision for the evening.I am quite fussy with pizza and I have to say, this is probably one of the best pizzas I've had in London. They managed to keep the dough crispy and chewy all at the same time - exactly how pizza should be.We also indulged in Tiramisu which my fiance loved - he said that it is probably the best he has had in this country and he is Italian (that's got be worth something, surely!).Anyway, overall, highly recommended! Very reasonable prices and we'll be coming here again.

I hadn't been to Apollo for a few months, I had almost forgotten how good it was. The Service - Very friendly and efficient staff, got a table very quickly and had 2 beers on the table with food ordered within 10 mins of getting in the front doorThe food - OMG amazing, real wood fired (they buy the wood in from Italy to get the taste just right) pizza, all the ingredients are super fresh and very well balanced. BTW it's all cooked in front of youCost - Very fair can't quite remember how much but do remember leaving saying that was very reasonable.In short get yourself down there, check for the specials of the day

What a great pizza discovery. Walked in from a chilly evening to warmth in every possible way. Great to find a specialised restaurant that excels in its specialty. I love good pizza. My boyfriend is a top chef and he also loves great pizza. We both agree that this is THE best pizza restaurant we've found ever! Simple menu, and everything is made very well. Ingredients are so fresh, the pizza dough is tasty and (unlike Franca Manca's) doesn't sit heavily in your tum. The toppings are perfectly balanced - not too spicy or rich or overpowering. Just perfect! Really friendly, relaxed atmosphere too. Service with a smile and a warm chat. Thoroughly recommend a visit and a repeat visit to this little gem.

We were walking around the area trying to find a pizza place, while Franco manca is just next to this small pizza place, we chose this as it looks quite local and you can find Franco anywhere in London.It is indeed a very cozy small Restaurant, the pizza we ordered was quite tasty and the dessert tiramisu was very good.

Visited yesterday, my partner had a pizza and I opted for dessert (we'd not been planning on eating but were intrigued by the menu). Pizza absolutely delicious - as good (or better) than what you would find in Italy. Dessert (chocolate torte with almonds and orange zest) was also very nice. Staff very friendly. Very reasonable price wise too.

A nize and cozy pizzeria. The Pizza wa great compared to other places and the owner was lovely. He spent a bit of his time to chat with us. Great spicy oil made with organic olive oil and chilly in house. He also have limoncello and an espresso machine. I really recommend it!

My husband and I have eaten a lot of pizza in our time and this was up there with one of the best. Crispy base, interesting quality toppings and served by great staff. Craft beer served in an iced glass tops it off. Swerve the disappointing Franco Manca and head straight to Apollo. Keep up the good work!

Delicious pizza! The wine and beer selection is minimalist but that actually adds to the charm of this cosy authentic Italian pizzeria. There's only ever one dessert option too but always great. The staff are very friendly too.

We've ordered takeaway twice from this restaurant. The pizza is outstanding. I thought I liked Il Bacio, Franco Manca, and Pizza Express. But this pizza inspires love.The crust has this dry, yet soft texture and a smoky flavour. The toppings are top quality and you can taste the difference. When you bite into other pizzas, you're like hmm, yeah I recognize the toppings. E.g., olive, check; ham, check; pepper, check. When you bite into their pizza it's more than just a reading of the guest list, it's an all out party.I especially recommend Diavola.

I have tried many places in Stoke Newington, including recently Franco Manca, and I think Apollo is the best restaurant for pizza.The pizza dough is delicious and the variety of pizza toppings is unusual. The staff are really accommodating, happy to swap any of the toppings, whereas Franco Manca charged me for a small amount of extra tomato! The restaurant has a nice cosy atmosphere and the menu is not too pricey, very reasonable. The cocktails are worth a try!

I know not a lot of people know what a really good pizza is like so i don't blame you if you choose Franco Manca (which is not bad but it was a lot better 10 years ago), i can assure you Apollo is better. i love going there and i love the kind of personal service they give you. support places like this instead of huge chains!

This is a welcome new pizza place to stoke Newington, even though there is already at least 4 other established places- why oh why is Franco Manca packed when 2 doors down is the much better place called Apollo?Upstairs is the ideal place to sit, but we had to sit downstairs- but this was a lovely place to sit, especially as we were by the door to the garden.Lovely tunes were played here- excellent service and two fantastic pizzas. Italian through and through.Great red wine and craft ales- all for a reasonable prize...We will most certainly be back

Apollo is a really nice venue with welcoming staff and the pizza is second to none. I've been numerous times since it opened.

what can i say, if you like pizza you will like this place. we were in the basement and were entertained for what seemed like hours.

They've a great Italian pizza oven in this place which knocks out the best tasting bases I've had a in a while. Pizza's are well priced (5.95 for a Margherita) and good choice of craft beers and wine. Ambiance is good with records playing downstairs and friendly waiting staff. Well worth a trip!

It's a small restaurant but with s good cocktails and nice beer, but most important very nice pizza. Perfect cooked, very nice typical Italian. So good so nice. I will come back !!!

This is the place to go if you want the genuine article. Quite simply the best pizza you will ever have. The genuine wood oven, the original dough recipe and the care of Oliver and the team makes a great combination. Try one of the craft beers and savour the difference. Enjoy the vinyl music , the brilliant service and the family Limoncello if you can get some before it is all gone.

I went on my own and had two lovely glasses of Nero D'Avola. The pizza was crispy and moist with excellent seasoning in the tomato base. The vegetables were cooked well rather than raw as you sometimes get. It's a cosy room lit with candles and friendly staff. Really impressed

Small pizza menus but everyone I have tried has been superb. I always get extra fresh garlic.....added free!! Keep up the good work. I love this place.

Simple but flavourful pizzas with an awesome crust that is both crunchy and chewy (and features nice blackened burst blisters - yummy!). I've had some great pizzas in the past, and Apollo's definitely hold their own. Good atmosphere too: cool, great music, but no attitude. I did not have a drink apart from water, so cannot comment on those. I will definitely go back.

Giving you guys 4 though as it is solid and we need to show some support as Franco manca is a-comin'. Reduce drinks prices and scream about it - advertise it! Fun relaxed independent pizza restaurant run by incredibly friendly weirdly alike twin brothers. Delicious pizzas from a specially imported Neapolitan wood fired oven using some organic veg from local growers association. Signature cocktails too, last night a White Lady. Great place to meet friends or for relaxed dinner. Takeaways also.

New little pizza place on the High Street. Wood burning pizza oven from Naples. Great traditional pizzas. Only had takeaways but this will be my regular pizza haunt.

Although there are some things to improve (décor, very limited menu and slightly unsalted ingredients), you cannot find such an amazing pizza at a better price.For soft drink, service and customized pizza I paid just £10.5!As I said, the pizzeria is very small and basic: wooden benches and tables, no A/C but still bearable. However, when food is served, it's pleasure for eyes and mouth: truly Neapolitan pizza with great dough and ingredients.I am guessing the menu is very short to avoid long staying given the limited number of seats.Anyway, keep up the good work, these guys deserve all the best!

A wonderful pizza restaurant. The environment was warm and welcoming and the pizza was absolutely delicious. We will be making this one of our regulars.

If your idea of pizza heaven is a huge number of factory produced choices, with surly staff and no imagination - don't go here. They serve a fairly small selection of superb pizzas (go with friends - share). Authentic in spirit (anyone who has the imagination to use a cheese from a small dairy in West Sussex in a pizza is in the spirit of traditional cooking), tasted superb, and friendly people. They also serve interesting beers (bottled real ale). The only problem will be, if they continue as good as they are they will either need to take over the next door neighbours, or you will have to book months in advance!
