We visited for a late lunch today and , as usual , was most impressed by , The , food and the proprietors . My partner chose a Prawn Salad , and I chose a Beef Pie , made on the premises by one of the owners . The pie had a Flakey pastry , and was over filled with chunks of beef , plus potatoes and Swede . The accompanying vegetables was Mashed potato , not too much as some potato was in the Pie . Plus Kale , drizzled with lemon juice and either carrots or peas . I had peas , plus some lovely tasting Gravy . My Partner chose a Prawn Salad , which was freshly prepared . An excellent Meal , which we both enjoyed !

We were very disappointed as although the previous cafe needed some TLC, it was like a cosy old fashioned cafe, always packed and great food and prices. It has recently reopened after a big renovation, so we went for breakfast and found the old charm has gone, prices have gone up, which we expected, and still has the lovely waitress, but it will be a long while before we return. They have added an upstairs which is quite steep and for elderly folk can be quite tricky, good move hmmm 🤔

Visited here yesterdayfor Sunday dinner, having heard good things. All four of us chose the medley of roasts, fortunately we declined starters & we were so glad we did, as the dinner was massive & really really tasty, making it such great value at £20.50 per person, as we were also unable to have a desert Would 100% recommend & we will definitely be going back again ! Thank you

Picked Rosey Lea because it has kerb appeal and there was a pretty terrace to enjoy the last of the summer. Had a simple lunch of baked potato and a glass of wine which came to £17.45. The spud was OK and came with a decent amount of salad. However, for that money I want a big, fluffy and really hot potato where the cheese is happily melting in to the mix. The one I had was warmish and smallish. Service was friendly but on the slow side.

How stupid of me that I haven’t been to a Pie and Mash shop yet! I’m happy to say that this one was a great choice. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff were very friendly. The pie was very nice. The dough wasn’t as crispy as I expected, but it didn’t spoil the enjoyment. Thank you kindly, F Cooke Pie and Mash!

How this place has gone down hill, the smell of smoke from somewhere was overpowering. The empty table next to us was surrounded by chips on the floor under the high chair, the place was nearly empty and plenty of staff so no excuse there. That's our last visit.
