F Cookes provided the food for my Mother's wake. They went completely above and beyond....they started cooking hours before opening (and usual) to provide the food for our sad event....the food was AMAZING, we had asked for extra liquor and boy did we get it! My mums favourite meal, enjoyed by everyone that attended and not a morsel left!! Amazing service, kindness, and understanding. Can't recommend highly enough ♥️♥️♥️

Have been here a couple of times the pie and mash are great what you expect from cooks, have a great deal for pensioners on a Wednesday pie and mash, coffee or tea for 4.95 brilliant. And the staff are very friendly and keep the place is kept clean. Will be back again on next visit to bishop stortford

Started off really nice but the prices have gone up and the standards have gone down I was weaned on the stuff as a child in the east end and absolutely love the stuff Clean honest food that will sort you right out However this place is not good enough and the prices are a Micky take Off to the east end for the proper stuff and at a decent price Or even walton on the Naze is far better and at £6 a plate is worth the drive over Sorry won’t be back

Although my previous visit was some while ago, this beautifully-maintained venue has not changed. The environment, the service, and the food on my recent visit was as good as ever.

Picked Rosey Lea because it has kerb appeal and there was a pretty terrace to enjoy the last of the summer. Had a simple lunch of baked potato and a glass of wine which came to £17.45. The spud was OK and came with a decent amount of salad. However, for that money I want a big, fluffy and really hot potato where the cheese is happily melting in to the mix. The one I had was warmish and smallish. Service was friendly but on the slow side.

Came here yesterday for a group Christmas dinner and couldn't fault it. I had the sea bass and they clearly have a top chef - it was genuinely the nicest food I've had in a while, and I love food. Polite staff who are working hard at this time of year. Great atmosphere and beer. Lots of parking and there's a beer garden for the summer.
