Excellent, well staffed and friendly. Wetherspoons prices can not be bettered, especially there tea & coffee which is unlimited. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

I love this pub. Not all whetherspoons are of my taste but this one certainly is. Service is really good. Food also decent and super cheap and the atmosphere is incredible, particularly the terrace by the river.

Today was a horrible experience at Wetherspoons Bishop's Stortford, the customer service was horrible, the people serving were in a bad mood, I have been a customer for over 11 years and I feel obliged to say it, if you can't serve customers professionally you should train your employees better when you are busy, the food arrived before the drinks and when I asked they told me the wait was thirty minutes, that is said before ordering, if I don't agree I'll leave, the bad mood and the bad atmosphere was the main protagonist today, please the most important thing is us the customers, you should let your employees know without customers there is no business, I hope this changes, thank you.

Excellent for weekend get together

Enjoyed a breakfast muffin with a coffee £2.99. Free refill on the coffee. Had a good catch-up with a mate. The coffee machines can be a bit slow and temperamental but taste is normally good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nearby paid parking

The atmosphere and seating outside was the only thing to this place. Hands down the worst customer service experience in Bishop’s Stortford. The waiters are very disrespectful, rude and obviously unhappy with their lives. Well this guy in particular just carried the drink to our table and put it down without even asking if was for the table or who does each one belong to. We asked him politely if he could wipe the table as it was sticky with drinks from previous customers and he mumbled that he’d send someone to do it. He returned quickly and wiped the table and then we asked for straws for the drinks and to my astonishment he threw the straws down on the table. Like literally threw them on the table, like he was angry. Never have I ever been treated with such disrespect at a restaurant. The food wasn’t anything great and came around with dirty utensils, by this point I was convinced that I wouldn’t return. Some of the waiters there need to take lessons from those that work at Skew and Roni’s and other restaurants in BS. They are an utter disgrace and need training. The prices are ok there but I’ll rather spend more somewhere else to get a better experience.

Today I went to Wetherspoon and is not the first time they bring me the wrong order. I order chicken wings and the crazy guy brought me chicken wings and onion rings, when I told him I didn’t order onion rings he them screaming saying they come together. I didn’t touch the onion ring dish as I knew I didn’t order it, after few minutes he come and collect the dish and started to shout out onion ring, even though not asking can I take this or sorry for deliver it in the wrong table. Bad service and bad customer service, I had promised my self to never order food again there because last time was the same cold burger and he deliver to the wrong table. And also today the supervisor was really rude to a the table next to me, she was wearing a very short shorts and for my point of view not dressing as according to the job role. I know she is friend with the general manger but that’s not allowed her to dress like she is in her house Very professional. If I want to see things like that I will go to black lion not Wetherspoon!!!!

Very well located Witherspoon Pub in the center of Bishops Stortford. The typical low priced pints, and reasonable selection of food.

Great place to sit outside in middle of town. Can see why it's such a busy place with roomy seating area & good VFM food. Extensive menu with a wide choice of dishes😜🤔

A very well run pub with a good selection of drinks and the ale prices are lower than most Wetherspoons. Often busy on weekends but always civilised in my experience.

Good atmosphere, limited choice for gluten free food. A birthday treat - but not much selection. Jacket with chilli was very good but no dessert as can't eat ice cream either. 😢. Also no almond milk for a cappuccino!!!! Lovely clean restaurant and friendly staff.

Great pub, staff friendly, food great, service very good, to top it all ge big boss Tim Martin was there, very friendly and chatty fella.

Waiters/waitresses in this place need to mind their attitude when serving customers, people having fun and enjoying their time in the pub. They're annoyed by the fact that they're working or something, be more respectful to your customers.

Had the best chicken korma ' chips ' nam bread ever .

4 of us had a meal,3 had fish and chips.the fish was tough and overcooked and the chips were hard and undercooked.

Full breakfast with coffee is still a great deal. Port jackson is a great venue.

Decent vegan options for a small town like this. Atmosphere was pretty mild but staff were quite friendly. Kitchen making horrible noises so I advise not to get a booth near there if you’re sensitive. Near the main train station so it’s a good place to stop off and it’s just off the towns high street. I imagine it gets loud in the evenings

Very nice upstairs, but tables a bit overcrowded downstairs. Nice decor.

Just popped in for a meet up with a friend

I normally like going here, but during this visit I found staff to be not very welcoming and difficult. One member of staff spent the whole time complaining about everything and was making mistakes with people's orders. It's a shame because I have always found it to be a nice establishment.

I ordered English breakfast was terrible nothing fresh cheap bacon hash brown not choice of tea one.you get better breakfast McDonald.

Stayed for a couple late on a Saturday night. Quite possibly the closest Wetherspoon's to.Stansted Airport. Locals were friendly as were the bar staff. Very nice craft beer in Mad Squirrel. Only seem to have this one in the South East of England. Worth a visit if you're in the town.

Recenlty went in and as they made a mistake previously decided to add up and use a calculator. Had my usual drink lefe as part of a meal deal 1 other drink cofee and other food ordered, but came to around £1 more than it should I explained its wrong and the person argued that it is not part of the meal drink deal, having explained and showed it is, still did not agree so I put through everything as seperate meals and found the mistake instead of a sharwarma on its own 3.29 pushed it as a meal making it more expensive. Easily done but the person serving might need more training especially as Having been shown on a calculator and the menu states it is part of the meal deal.

Its a weatherspoon, you know what to expect however, the location, specially outside by the river in the summer is super nice. Decent amount of space between tables. Service is always nice.

Me and my teen daughter came for breakfast. We have as a family been to many wetherspoons sites, but this one beats all others by a country mile. My breakfast was perfect and much better than others I've had before. Theyve always been OK for the price but this was far better. Such good value and a nice clean bar/restaurant. Nice work, I'd highly recommend.

The place to go for a chilled afternoon

Mice wetherspoons, good prices and food is what you would expect. Not great but you know what you are getting. I had a chicken burger. Which was pleasant enough and a bonus, it was hot! Quick service as always and friendly staff

Clean and tidy compared to some spoons. Nice seating area outside. You'd be forgiven to think you weren't in a spoons. Even the bogs were quite clean. Food service was swift.

Always a pleasure coming here, the staff are very easy to get along with even when they are super busy and stressed, really nice food and a beautiful setting with the garden, always a laugh and a great time every time I go, definitely recommend if you’re passing.

Visited for breakfast as we we were in town . I decided to try out your new to menu “Fiesta Brunch” and was most pleased I did ! An excellent item added to your menus . We did not have to wait too long for receiving it either . Good value . Also good value , was the Egg and Cheese Muffin my partner had , and She said that was most enjoyable , especially with the free drink . Special mention for your server , Tracey , real service with a smile

I go here a lot but went a few weeks ago at 6:30pm I got asked if I wanted my wine in a Gin Glass!!!!

Busy for a Tuesday but able to find a seat no problem. They seemed short staffed but managed to cope...just. Usual Soonies fare so don't expect gourmet steak with a pint or glass of wine for £11-squid

Met some old friends and this place was amazing with plenty of tables in area's where we could all talk and here each other no problem 😊 food was served without a hitch and was really well done 😊 overall a very good afternoon and thanks to Weatherspoons for having such a lovely place.

Went for breakfast with my family after landing at stansted airport after a holiday. It’s definitely one of the nicer Wetherspoons about and the staff were good. All 4 of us had a good breakfast for not much money. Would recommend.

We visited for a lunchtime meal , with My Partner’s elderly friend . On the whole the meal was good . We ordered three different dishes , but all were delivered to us st the same time . So none of us had a long wait , which was good . Just one complaint it is a pity you do not employ someone who can fry eggs properly !

Nice food and location, staff unfortunately not cleaning tables and quite rude

The fat manager that was out of breath by the time she even got to my table… showed bad manners and the service is an always poor with crackheads taking over at night. I don’t suggest anyone goes here. There are many better pubs in stortford such as black lion with a good night life and BACCAS I’d just warn you to avoid this establishment.

Great spoons, it had a good atmosphere on a Friday night and quick service despite the busy atmosphere. good priced drinks the pints of Guinness were top class I savoured many glasses and quenched my thirst. Toilets just too far which I've noticed is a common theme in most spoons, climbing stairs can be most tiresome when drinking and relaxing. Doormen were also top blokes

they do banging apple slices 10/10 recommend, alternatively milk is a good option if you’re feeling thirsty

They should have QR codes on every table or more easily available but besides that it's amazing the flakiest fish 10/10 would recommend. Staff works efficiently, you cannot beat the price point for food and quality+ drink.

Always had lovely meals here, shame the smokers bit ruins your meal if you're eating outside, I don't want to breathe in their smoke! So we eat inside now.

One of my favourite pubs, good food, good service, and reasonably priced. It was very busy as usual, but there were a few spare tables. Our one had not been cleaned very well, but was OK. I had a lovely curry, but was disappointed that they did not have any bottles of sweet chilli sauce to put on it.

Compared to Hertford wetherspoons which we prefer to use these days never get burnt toast in the Hertford one on more than 3 tomes have received burnt toast on the large breakfast Prefer staff in the Hertford one too more friendly staff in this one can be not as friendly and stand offish at times Think if you drink there regularly then they seem to like you more So would normally recommend not on this occasion I'm not

A nice Wetherspoons in Bishop's Stortford town centre, The Port Jackson. Typical food and drink menu with good service and prices. The atmosphere is lively with plenty seating at ground and first floors. Also there are external tables with good parasol cover at the side of the river Stort. We enjoyed an evening dinner here when travelling via the adjacent Stansted Airport.

3 nights dinning there and all the foods and drinks were pretty good, tasting different plates each time. Food os served very quick, and the staff is very nice.

A bustling wethers on a Saturday night in a nice spot by the river - food and drink very reasonably priced we had a curry meal with a beer decent quality food for a chain pub and service very good (we ordered on the app for delivery to our table), friendly staff too :)

Still don't agree with their no dog rule, I've never seen dogs throw food all over the floor and heard them constantly screaming, wish they had a downstairs loo. Otherwise food is one of the better weatherspoons, and staff lovely.

Decided on the chicken jalfrezi which came with nan bread, rice and 2 poppadoms. Surprisingly the chicken was very tender and tasted great, spice was perfect. The nan and poppadoms were ok, I guess they don't have a clay oven to make the nan bread which is fine. Good value at around £10 with a soft drink. Not too busy for a Sunday afternoon.

A vibrant town centre pub. Lots of fun people around. The reliable wetherspoon menu takes the guess work out. There is segregation between outside areas into smoking and non smoking zones. Seating upstairs too.
