The Punch House Pub in East Hertfordshire

We'll run and popular pub/restaurant. We went for Sunday lunch and had the roast beef which was very good. The portion size was just right.

A little on the chilly side but otherwise friendly staff and comfortable surroundings

Had a Sunday roast pork belly off the specials and it was excellent!! One of the best things I’ve ever eaten and everyone is always so friendly when I go in, would definitely go again!

This is our local, we’re in here 2-3 times a week. The staff are fantastic, Lee, Ash and Jack always make you feel welcome. Good selection of beers and the food is always in high demand. Can’t recommend it any higher, definitely worth a visit.

A comfortable, nice and quiet place, with (for me) a slightly posh and intimidating vibe on first appearance, but I soon got over that and found *lots* to like: lovely staff, delicious food and an interesting menu, a promising wine list, and literally 50-odd varieties of gin behind the bar. :-)

Held Birthday Lunch for 87 year old twins. Upwards of 10 people. The Punch House was amazing. The team were so helpful. Couldn’t do enough for us all. Food was excellent as was the Service. Plan on going again.

Very welcoming and food was lovely especially the steak,halloumi and choc brownie .The staff were lovely and helpful. Would definitely go again and reccomend to others.

Came in for a nice drink after work. It’s such a lovely atmosphere and found out today that the quiz starts back up on 11th Feb. Used to be on a Wednesday but is now moving to Sundays. Looking forward to coming back for that.

Blown away. We rang up to book and pre ordered. When we asked if our table was ready (we where very early) they ran and sorted it for us. The food was amazing. The veg perfect. The Yorkshire pudding was spot on and the portion size massive. Booking for next week and can even bring the dog!!

Always a good welcome from the staff, as a couple with a young child we are always wary of how we are accepted in places and the punch house is such a nice environment its never let us down.

Went on 29th December 2023, my birthday... sibling was recommended by a work colleague as I had been a few years before, and unimpressed by £19 for Birds Eye Fishfingers, assured was better now, and indeed it was. 1 of us had to have 3rd choice, bad food planning. I never have chips, or anything greasy at home, so a lovely large Beefburger and trimmings was eaten with relish. Would have liked a shared plate of thin radishes, raw onions (optional !!) Tomatoes and pomegranate seeds as palate cleansers, the country pubs which are popular do lovely platters to share. Def would return, even go on my own. Xxx

Great beer garden, nice decor, good atmosphere, very dog friendly. Food took a long time to arrive and was a bit average. Felt as if they were understaffed

Just had a pint and my wife had a coffee and cake but it was lovely. As others have said, a light and airy decor and with classy Christmas decorations, nice comfy chairs. Spot on

Lovely atmospheric pub in ware. Always fantastic dishes. The vibes are great when the dj is on and staff always pleasant. Never an issue, you can always have a great evening here. Cosy and private.

Great pub for an informal lunch. Ate there today and had lovely food in a great atmosphere. Staff were attentive and helpful.

Menu limited, service OK, overpriced for what you got. I had the pie, which was overcooked and dry. the other meal was a Korean burger, which was nice but served on a ridiculously small plate .

This is our local pub. The staff are really great, everyone from the landlady down are first class. If your in Ware this place is definitely worth a visit v

Since the re model the pub looks great and is really cosy. Have eaten here plenty of times. Food is always great. Staff are very good and friendly. Would recommend

Service an absolute shambles,waited one and a half hours for food and could not fully supply everything on the menu for 4 adults 2 children.

We reserved an area for a gathering to celebrate our son’s birthday in September. All of the staff are absolutely great, nothing is too much trouble. Have been there a few times now and every experience is the same, absolutely superb! Food great, drinks great, surroundings great, staff phenomenal

We had a lovely meal here last night ...highly recommend the chicken sharing platter with the home made tortillas and chicken coujons totally yummy.... Will definitely be coming back soon lovely staff and we are definitely going to try a Sunday Roast👍👍👍👍👍

Absolutely prestige, incredibly friendly staff, atmosphere was idealic. Had heard about it through word of mouth as no longer live in the area but was visiting family. Would recommend whole heartedly.

What a great “Pub” this pub resembles a restaurant, very airy, clean and free of strange odors. We had the Fish & Chips, which was a very generous portion and quite delicious. The Guinness is nice & cold, as well as cold water in the hydration station. The pub also allows you to refill your water bottle too. All in all, a very nice experience

Booked here for 50 people for my partners wake, couldn't have been more helpful with getting it all organised, food was great everyone commented how nice it was, he couldn't have had better send off. If I have one niggle was that children have to be off site by 8pm, my fault didn't think to ask but did not affect day in anyway. Big thank you to all at the punch for making the day memorable for us all.

Good couple of hours spent in the garden on a Friday evening. Busy but suitably staffed. Staff were good and always chatting with customers. Felt like a good crowd in the venue. and everyone had fun.

From the minute you walk through the doors, a friendly welcome & smiling faces. Great choice of beers and wines. A full menu, lots of choice. The outside area is comfortable, with cushions and cover from wet weather. Suitable for all. Enjoy...

Decent pub with a very sharp interior and garden…garden is a little smaller than it used to be, but still very pleasant space to enjoy a pint. Dog friendly and will always get you a bowl if you can’t find one

Beautifully decorated throughout, this pub not only serves great beer, it serves it in style with a great ambience! I'm told the food is good - but I've yet to sample. The other excellent thing about this pub is that it is still supporting live music; and for this, I can only be grateful! Bravo!

Lovely staff. Excellent food. Bands are very loud on band nights but that's not their fault. Always happy to visit again. Only downside is its got very expensive even compared to other places in town.

Recently refurbished and looks a lot better. Went late Sunday afternoon and got the last table . The steak Philly ciabatta roll was lovely. Had a side of onion ring to share . Would have been better with an even number of rings as we were sharing. Overall will definitely go back .

Came to the Punch House for some lunch for my mums birthday and the food was lovely. Leigh was really accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed. Looking to book a table for mothers day as the pub looks lovely after their recent refurbishment. Thank you 😊

Good food, good beer and wine. We went on a Saturday evening, table reservation an absolute must. Live group from 9pm, Kelly's Heroes, we're very good. A great evening's entertainment.

Have never had an issue here, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Fridays they have a dj who Is great and live bands on Saturdays worth a look if your on a night out. Always a good time whenever I've been here.

Im led to believe recently redecorated and the place looked very good friendly staff and very helpful good atmosphere enjoyed a,couple of beer's

The food tasted nice, however we did have to wait quite a lot longer for it than I would have expected. Also, when my wife's turned up (she had the scampi and chips), she'd been given a ridiculously small portion of chips. When we queried this, a member of staff told us they would bring out more chips this time, but next time we would have to order extra because apparently Greene King set the portion sizes -- but my portion was a lot bigger than hers, and a bloke behind us also had a much bigger portion. I just found it hard to believe that they have a set portion of chips, when we'd both been given such different amounts.

Not a bad place, good bar and music not had the food yet but it must be good loads of people always eating.

Great dog friendly pub with fab food, great atmosphere/decor, and a lovely outside garden. Small friendly touches include flavour suggestions on spirits on menu, comfy seating everywhere you look, and blankets by the door of their garden. We had fab service here and would come again!!
