Son had his wedding blessing here, together with bridal breakfast, evening reception and breakfast following day (hired several of the cottages as well as rooms in the main hotel - they couldn't be faulted.) Food was exceptional, so full from the breakfast ( huge home made burgers, chicken breast and BBQ with sides that beat anything I'd had in my previous 60 years), bars in events venue and main hotel, care from staff couldn't be faulted. With a walk through the gardens to the river at the end so see the broads boats go by while enjoying the sun, prior to the evening events. Guests enjoyed the more lively evening when the sound system was cranked up, before those who had to make their way to other places started leaving. Following morning breakfast was more than ample to get through to evening, a buffet bar plus cooked to order menus, full English was good, or a mountain of scrambled egg on toast with a thick large sliver of salmon as the roof. Highly recommend

We only went for lunch and we both decided to have the ribeye steak medium rare with chips. At £27 (now £34) a head we expected a decent steak but were very disapointed, it was tough, the waitress said she would tell the chef. They also add a 10% tip! A gratuity should be given for good service not just added to the bill.

I have never paid so much money for such awful bland tasting food. Their children’s menu I wouldn’t feed my nonexistent dog… so had to get my 4 and 6 year old an adult meal. Pan fried chicken was the worst I’ve ever had and most expensive. Their “wagyu” burger I presume was boiled rather than grilled. Their chicken burger was cooked in such old oil that it was pretty much black. Triple cooked chips were nothing of such, more like triple boiled chunky wedges, again anwful. Everything was awful, even down to their sauces! You cannot charge £20-£30 per dish and serve 💩. Highly of the meal was bread and olives 😂. It’s dark af inside, I get all the adding to “ambiance”. But they have no ceiling lights. All wall lights and a poxy portable table lamp that lights up about 5inches of the table.

Recently stayed at The Rising Sun for 2 nights with other family members who occupied the other rooms. All of the rooms were spacious, clean, modern and had everything you needed. Hair Dryer, kettle, tea , coffee, water, toiletries aplenty. We stayed in Room 4 which was the family room with a separate entrance looking over the broads. Wow, what a view to wake up to each morning. The breakfast was amazing, loads of choices and accommodated all of our requests. We ate here both nights, the menu was big and every dish/pizza was delicious. We also held a function here which The Rising Sun catered for, special mention to Andy who went above and beyond to make sure everything was spot on. Andy is a credit to this pub, as is his team. Couldn't fault our stay, made a difficult time a lot more bearable. Thank you for everything you have done for the family Andy . We will be back!
