The White Horse in Broadland

We had a 40th birthday lunch for my son. There were nine of us including three children. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly and looked after us really well. Would definitely recommend this lovely place.

Stopped off here for an early dinner whilst staying in the local area, amazing choice of food, vegan and vegetarian included. Genuinely happy staff when we entered and the food was amazing. Hats off to the chef.

We went here for our 25th anniversary meal just the 2 of us mid week and the food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced , the staff were all very friendly and helpful all in all a lovely experience we we definitely be returning a definite 5* experience thankyou .

Brilliant Pub, proper home cooked traditional food. We are regular visitors and not once have we been disappointed.

I am a wheelchair user and I went last Saturday with my husband and my parents for my 50th birthday, the access was no problem, there was plenty of room round our table and didn't feel cramped, food and service was lovely, staff was friendly and helpful. It was nice also to not have music or TV blaring out, you could have a nice conversation without shouting.

Did not stay here, review only covers the pub and our meal. Went here on a Sunday and although we had not booked, they squeezed us in. Huge menu as well as Sunday roasts and specials. I had the skate and my partner the steak and kidney pudding - both were excellent and we were too full for a pudding, although the range was very tempting including hot cross bun bread and butter pud. I must single out the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff, who appeared to enjoy their jobs. Prior to having our meal, we were asked to move tables, so they could accommodate a large party. This was not a problem for us, but they comped us a drink for our trouble which was very kind. We will definitely return.

We came in for lunch for my Nanny’s birthday today (11th March). I mentioned the occasion to the waitress (young girl with brown hair, seemed like a supervisor) and she went all out to make sure it was a special time with a free glass of wine and special dessert place. The other staff members were great too. Thank you all so much for making the day so special!

Lovely a cosy old style pub We had starters of prawn cocktail! 3/5 Nachos 4/5 Then we both had burgers , the only issue we had was that the burgers were fairly dry. Service was great, all reasonably prices as well!

Came across this place on the way to Cromer. Warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Great selection of specials. I had the shellfish salad lobster, crab and prawn cocktail . My Husband had the Cromer crab salad. Both were delicious . Super fresh salad with a balsamic dressing. All the waiters were smiley and helpful. We sat in the pretty garden. Would really recommend.

We visited today for our anniversary. It was us, our son (age 1) and our small dog. The atmosphere is lovely, everywhere was clean and the food was DELICIOUS 😋. We were served by a lovely young lady called Amy who I'd like to mention as she was fantastic and deserves praise for a good job. Our son's fish fingers were huge and well worth the price, the fish was excellent quality and the batter was spot on. I had the scampi and prawns and *chefs kiss* absolute perfection. My husband had the dressed crab and had no complaints either. Over all I'd highly rate this place and the staff.

As a vegetarian i find some menus a bit hit n miss ! The white horse had lots to offer for veggies so i went with the seafood lasagna,what an absolute delight! Amazing , the chips were fabulous too ,hot, tastie and plenty of ! I shall return . Service was great ,polite staff who were well trained ,i loved it ,Thank you ,well done

From the minute we arrived we had friendly excellent service. The menu was very good and we couldn’t decide what to have, the lovely staff helped us and we opted for the crab Salad with new potatoes and the prawn platter with fries, we was not disappointed. The crab tested fresh, the prawns were so juicy and the scampi was the best I have had. The staff were really attentive and made us feel special

I have been going backwards and forwards past this for the past 10 to 11 years and always meant to pop in but never had the time. today I did, and am I glad ,service fantastic, starters and mains were delicious and the general ambience of the place showed everyone cared. even our dog was given treats on arrival. We will be stopping a lot more in future. Thank you

We had a super meal. All meals delicious and filling, desserts especially hit the mark. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and return.

I had met a friend the week before for a drink and we noticed the food remarking how good it looked, so the week after we went for a meal. The menu is very pub-ish but also quite extensive, prices are reasonable and portions are good. We both had the gammon, egg and chips and it was lovely. This was a 'proper' pub food visit and it was great.

Went for lunch (our usual pub was closed), had been told the White Horse was good, it wasn’t! On arrival we asked for a table for two, we were asked whether we’d booked…no….we looked round lots of tables (at least 10+) empty, the manger then looked in the diary, I presume to see if they had space for us! Yes, we could have a table, wish we’d left at this point, being as they were so busy. It didn’t get any better. The menu choice was huge, we obviously picked the wrong things. My sausages had never seen any pork by the texture of them, not pleasant to taste or eat, the rest of my meal was mediocre. My friend had beef lasagne, virtually no bechamel sauce so very unappealing, just mince and a bit of pasta. To the pub, less choice better quality, staff training for availability vs demand, get rid of some of the ‘quaint clutter’ To everyone else, my advice, just keep driving past.

Called this Pub at 7.30pm , was sat at out table by 8pm, the evening saved from a disappointing hotel, staff were lovely, beer was cold, food was smashing, I had a "chicken curry in a Yorkie" ... I know, nuts, I had to try it. My partner went for a steak, and the evening was a pleasure. Go there you won't regret it, and if your really lucky Kris Kringle will be having a beer or five at the Bar, because he did when we were there!!

Often driven past and wondered,today thought we would give it a try. Really wish we hadn’t bothered. Slow service, food very mediocre and a swarm of flies. Ordered sausage in a Yorkshire pudding with mash, which was a£1 extra. Sausage was awful, a plateful of peas and very lumpy mash, couldn’t eat it. A begrudging sorry when I pointed this out. Husbands meal not much better. When I mentioned the flies it was treated as a joke and I was offered an electric fly swatt ???. We won’t be going again

Roast was ok. But could have done with more gravy. Plus the sachets of horseradish were a pain to open. Other places we have been to have the sauce in a ramakin or similar.

Was recommended this place by the lady at the b&b we are staying locally, everything was 10/10. Staff very friendly, big portion sizes, so many good food options. And food prices very good. Will definitely recommend this place, would be lovely too sit outside in...

Excellent, friendly service...I had the chilli nachos starter, my partner had the southern fried chicken wrap with chips ( of course!) and both dishes were lovely....a small mistake was rectified with friendly efficiency plus a smile and apology...it’s difficult times with every business struggling to train staff to open with new systems and procedures and rebuild their business.....you are doing an amazing job guys....it was good food, Covid aware but you still managed friendly...well done and thank you...it was a lovely day off treat for us...thank you x

La comida fue buena, pero el servicio fue lento, excelente personal y muy educado, mucho espacio por dentro y por fuera, tuvimos dos comidas allí y estuvimos muy contentos y con una buena relación calidad-precio, el único inconveniente fue una larga espera para las dos veces que visitamos la noche y el almuerzo y no fueron que ocupado en ambas ocasiones

Cangrejo vestido con ensalada, estaba bien presentado y absolutamente delicioso regado con un vino blanco muy agradable. Mi marido tenía la lasaña con patatas fritas, aderezado con ensalada. ¡Definitivamente una lasaña casera fue el comentario! Buen valor y personal encantador. Buen ambiente y me encantó la decoración. Recomiendo encarecidamente una parada en este lugar.

Después de visitar muchas veces a lo largo de los años, siempre muy bien, no esta vez no volveré, esperé más de 1 hora por la comida después de quejarse sin disculpas, menú deficiente y comida de mala calidad, la camarera limpió las mesas con un paño sucio sin desinfectante usó baños muy mal ¿Qué salió mal con este pub?

El pub cuenta con encantadoras áreas para sentarse al aire libre con iluminación LED de colores, además de un invernadero. El servicio fue muy bueno. La comida estuvo excelente. Muy bien presentado y sabroso. Algunas personas con talento creando la comida aquí. Estaban limpiando y limpiando los menús entre clientes.

Este restaurante estaba tan sucio. La mesa que habíamos reservado todavía tenía los vasos y la vajilla de la gente anterior y tuvimos que quitarla. No hace falta decir que la mesa no se había limpiado entre los invitados como debería ser durante esta pandemia. Conseguimos un poco de papel higiénico de los inodoros malolientes y usamos mucho limpiador anti-bac para limpiar la mesa muy pegajosa. ¡El tejido era negro! Comida bastante buena. Buen servicio. El lugar parecía estar dirigido por personal muy joven, ¿quizás se necesitaba un buen gerente para garantizar la higiene? ¡Vi a una camarera limpiar la mesa de una pareja después de que se fueron sin spray anti-malo y solo con un paño sucio! No se debe limpiar los respaldos de las sillas donde los toca para sacarlos. El suelo estaba sucio y lleno de basura. Este fue probablemente uno de los lugares más sucios en los que hemos estado. El exterior se ve encantador con los asientos y las flores, pero quizás se necesite más tiempo adentro. Esto fue preocupante e incluso hemos considerado contactar al ayuntamiento local ya que debido al coronavirus, la limpieza debería ser de gran importancia como lo es en todos los demás lugares en los que hemos comido. Aquí ciertamente no lo es. No volveremos.

El filete estaba delicioso, junto con la selección de papas fritas, siempre papas fritas flacas para mí. Dos de nuestro grupo comieron el pastel de carne que disfrutaron. Fish and chips se veía delicioso.La reforma parece preciosa; mucho más brillante y limpio. El sistema unidireccional funciona bien y con mucho distanciamiento social. También hay un montón de desinfectante para manos.No puedo esperar para volver a visitar. Bien hecho Sharleen y el equipo del caballo blanco.

Al estar un poco abatidos en este encierro debido al coronavirus, nos estábamos perdiendo nuestras salidas para las comidas de pub. Escuchamos que el Caballo Blanco había comenzado a hacer tomas. Caminamos allí en una de nuestras caminatas de ejercicio y hablamos con una señora que nos mostró un menú con muchas opciones. Desafortunadamente, no había muchas opciones para mi esposa, que no tiene gluten. Esto no supuso ningún problema, ya que la señora sirvió una serie de comidas adecuadas. Nos marchamos y decidimos lo que ambos queríamos, llamamos a través de nuestro pedido y elegimos un horario. El pago se realizó con tarjeta por teléfono. Conduje para recogerlo a la hora asignada y me lo entregaron a través de las puertas abiertas. Como cada pedido tiene un tiempo establecido, no se necesitan colas ni espacios de 2 metros. La comida fue excelente y con una buena relación calidad-precio.Los usaremos nuevamente y les deseamos una buena recuperación cuando las cosas vuelvan a la normalidad.

The White Horse has a nice atmosphere and is well laid out.Serving real ales along side the normal drafts it has a nice selection of beers.The food menu is quite big with dishes to suit most people and the food is nice and well cooked.The mains range from £11-£30 and desserts around £6.Service was good and with a smile.

Everything you'd want from a pub restaurant. Great food, friendly staff and nice setting. Best thing is their proper pies... Not just a layer of pastry laid on a bowl of stew!

Fuimos aquí el fin de semana de San Valentín, habíamos reservado una mesa. Estaba bastante ocupado pero el servicio fue rápido. La comida era realmente deliciosa y el ambiente del pub era acogedor pero agradable! Había sido decorado para San Valentín, por lo que era realmente encantador. Volveremos a visitar de nuevo!

He comido aquí muchas veces pero muy decepcionado en esta ocasión. Llamamos a este encantador pub a media tarde y nos dieron una cálida bienvenida, pedimos un domingo asado (carne de res) fue increíble al igual que en casa, una porción muy generosa con verduras frescas cada cosa en el plato estaba cocinada a la perfección, la salsa era excelente. nuestra primera visita, pero definitivamente volveremos, hacen un menú completo servido todo el día si lo necesita, pueden proporcionar precios de alojamiento son muy razonables, el vino es bueno, mi marido me informa, ¡así es la cerveza! Water tank quite noisy, wondered what it was initially. Shower over bath needs wall handle for safety of not so able guests. Wardrobe back coming off. Nice mugs not silly little cups with tea tray and place on better table not small one which could prove dangerous. Socket point near mirror would be helpful for drying hair. With breakfast don't serve pre- buttered toast! Otherwise bed comfortable, staff friendly and restaurant menu for lunch and dinner looked very appetising.

Inicialmente fueron de gran ayuda, exprimiéndonos en el último minuto un domingo. Sin embargo, después de esto, todo fue cuesta abajo. Habíamos escuchado cosas buenas, por eso decidimos visitar, pero no hay 1 cosa buena que podamos decir. Fuimos a un asado del domingo. Mi hijo quería carne de res en lugar de pavo y nos dijeron que no podían cambiar las carnes a pesar de que había pavo y carne de res para adultos exactamente al mismo precio. Cuando salieron los asados, la carne estaba seca, el pavo sabía como si hubiera sido previamente cocinado y recalentado. Las zanahorias parecían deshidratadas. ¡Puedo cocinar mejores papas asadas que en nuestros platos y supongo que serían especiales de tía Bessie! Las mejores cosas en nuestros platos fueron los guisantes y el brócoli! Nadie vino y nos revisó durante nuestra comida y cuando fuimos a pagar no nos preguntaron cómo era ni nada, ¡simplemente pasamos el recibo y pedimos verificar la cantidad!En general, deseé habernos quedado en casa y cocinarnos. No volveremos y definitivamente no se lo recomendaré a nadie.

All had something different, all received our meals together. Meal was hot, condiments already on table. A lot of restaurants ask when you receive your meal, hence a wait till you start eating your food.

Ordered our food to be told after already starting to drink the drinks we ordered that half the meals we ordered were unavailable. If we had been told this straight away we wouldn't have ordered our drinks and we would have gone elsewhere!! When the food finally arrived after a 40 min wait the food is very average in flavour and extremely overcooked.

Visited here one evening in October with my family. Requested 4 roast Beef dinners to be told after ordering our drinks and already drinking them that there wasn't enough of the roast beef we had requested and we could only have 2. Why wasn't we made aware of this before seeving our drinks as we would have gone elsewhere as we all wanted roast Beef. When the meals came after a long wait of around 30 minutes the Beef and Turkey tasted awful. Very tough very little flavour. The veg was limited just peas carrots and broccoli and the potatoes tasted like supermarket roasties. The yorkies were flat and burned. The price of a drink was extortionate for a country pub. More like London prices. Just under £11 for a double gin and tonic!

Recommended by our landlady, we showed up on speck to find busy restaurant with great variety on menu, lots of bookings but we were accommodated two nights by informed and friendly staff. Vegans catered for.

We booked a table got there and we were told we had to wait at least half an hour from our booking time. Found the bar maid to be rude and unhelpful which was totally unacceptable. We have been coming to this pub for a number of years and have of late found the service and the food to have gone down hill quite alot. We will not be recommending this Pub to any of our friends or family and we will not be back.

Beautiful country pub with fantastic food options. The pub itself is full of interesting items, everywhere you look is another quirky item! The food is good pub grub, one issue with a meal which was sorted swiftly and well by the lovely staff! Thoroughly recommend.

Popped in Saturday afternoon about 4:30ish as passing and hungry

The White Horse is an excellent destination for good British pub food. They have a very comprehensive menu and catterd well for my vegan daughter. They have very friendly staff serving good beer and a wonderful locally made gin.

Call in when passing. A very quaint Public House with small alcoves everywhere plus a good outside area. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The menu was extensive plus many specials. However we had a baguette/sandwich which the fillings was off very good portions and the chips were hot plus we felt was value for money.

Stayed one night last week , rooms possibly needing an update, but that aside from the landlady to her daughter , the young man behind the bar and the waitress from Liverpool , I can only say they were all terrific, very pleasant , attentive, a credit to the hotel industry and of course let's not forget the lady chef who produced tremendous food, what a breakfast! Well done to you all.

Came in with family while visiting for the week. Lovely food, nice big menu with lots of extra specials. Really enjoyed the giant Yorkie, chips, sausage and gravy and I'm really picky about sausages. Nice atmosphere, pretty and well looked after building. Couldn't fault it. Might go again next time we're in Norwich.

We have visited the white horse on many occasions but our last visit was disappointing! As it was a warm day we decided on a ploughman’s! The meal arrived on what could only be described as a soup bowl with lettuce stalks, very vinegary onions,an apple cut in half with skin, stalks and pips still in ! The coleslaw didn’t materialise so overall very disappointing.Definately won’t be having another one .

Open all hours and with one of the most extensive menus we have seen. Always good, and I’ve been going there for a few decades. Friendly, prompt, delicious, good value. My wife and I had fillet steaks last week - they were superb.

Definitivamente el mejor lugar para comer en todo Crostwick. Comimos aquí dos noches, excelentes platos, amplia selección, un montón de especiales y una excelente relación calidad-precio. Después de nuestra comida, el chef salió y conversó con nosotros, nos dijo que todo estaba recién preparado en el local (se mostró). Acabo de tener un pub restaurante tan bueno cerca de donde vivimos. Así que gracias al equipo y los chefs sus esfuerzos fueron muy apreciados.

My starter was actually quite nice but my wife's crab claws were bland and her main course of salmon was overcooked and dry, while my main was just ok. We were served by a youngish woman with a " scouse" accent who seemed to be rather abrupt. Have used this pub many, many times, but will not be returning.
