Great Friendly Place. Food Excellent Service Brilliant

Superb food as always. And highly attentive staff. What deserved 5 stars was the lengths the management went to move us away from a couple of very loud parties. We were prepared to leave, but staff found us a temporary table for a drink (complimentary) and gave us the next available table away from the excessive noise. Fabulous service.

First time visiting. Was very welcoming and loved the character. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We had the fox smoked tasting board for 2 and was so good. Definitely worth the price. Also it was great that they were dog friendly. They also do cocktails which was a bonus.

Everything about this pub was very good couldn't fault it.

What a great place to visit portion sizes are amazing food taste fresh would definitely recommend great value will be back for definate

I brough 3 of my elder relatives for Sunday lunch, I had been before and had been impressed with the food, so I though it's worth going again. I'm not going to go through each of the meals, but I had the Beef Sunday roast. It was a very large portion of food with very generous helping of beef. The whole thing was cooked to perfection and delicious. In fact, I would say it was the finest Sunday roast I have had anywhere. My relatives though their meals were superb too. The service was excellent, from some friendly staff. Absolutely faultless, I'll be back!

Great night again here. Went for my birthday . The meatball starter was really nice and tasty. Very reasonable prices . Highly recommend it

Love this place, I always have the smoked taster board for main, with half pint of prawns for starter. Me and my partner actually got the smoked board for 2, there was so much much food. Very well priced for the quality you get. We always drop in when we are near, can’t wait til next time. We couldn’t finish all the smoked meats, so the lovely lady got us 2 takeout containers so will be eating it today 😀 staff are very friendly and welcoming. Was very busy but you would expect that on a Friday when you serve outstanding food. But regardless of how busy they were we still had our food in good time. I would of waited how ever long to have that taster board😀 hats off to the chefs on cooking such good food 👍 Will be back again for sure

Second visit here with friends. Lovely food and choices. Unfortunately, there were power cuts which was a little weird, but didn't affect getting our meals.

Felt the place is in need of a complete makeover, looks tired, and grubby. Food was nothing exceptional. Menus dirty! A more modern less clutter.

This pub do the most amazing tasty skewers. I’ve been a couple of times and love the Cypriot one but friends have had the chicken. Well presented with lots of veg plus chips and salad and pitta! Too much to eat but very nice.

Great food and friendly, efficient service

We had an excellent meal, just my partner & I. Food we couldn't fault but was about 10 days b4 Christmas & was a much time. Two groups/ work parties & we found it a bit rowdy. We just wanted a quiet romantic meal & didn't expect this. We didn't complain but wish we had been offered a table in the bar when they knew they had to parties in at the same time! Not everyone likes rowdy atmosphere to dine in! They were large tables, one at opposite sides of our table! X

Early Tuesday lunch meal. Glad we booked as already beginning to get busy. Ordered drinks and seated on upper seating area. Nice surroundings but a bit on the cold side, not like the warm cosy fire near the entrance. Main order taken a little wait as all different and cooked to order. Meals:- A lamb shank Moroccan style with couscous, minted yoghurt and flat bread. This like all the other food very tasty, the meat just fell off the bone. A Fox jingle bell burger large plate of Christmas food. Burger with Turkey, chicken, cranberry beef burger, pigs in blanket, chips and salad. ( best to see pic) Hanging skewers, one fish, one Turkish. Again all great tasting. Large meal so skipped deserts although the menu had a good selection. Service good. Yes we would return for the lovely food. Lots on the menu to try. Pictures of meal attached.

Had a Christmas meal with friends here last night. Really enjoyable night. Friendly service, relaxing atmosphere and very very generous food portions. Very impressed all round.

Great food and good beer selection

It was my birthday, we had a lovely family meal. We are coming for lunch today. Looking forward to that. Don't know how it was as our daughter +son in law for lunch paid the bill

First visit to the Fox and have already booked for another seating... The food was exceptional 👌 We all had something different and everyone commented how tasty the meals were. I've attached photos, not my best pictures 🙈 The service was amazing ~ the pub is sooo cosy, warm and inviting. Was lucky to be seated near the real fire. Great menu, took a while to decide! Went with the Turkish hanging skewers in the end.. and OMG!!!sublime.. Highly recommended then , we booked a table, I would advise this, I'm unsure if you could just walk in as it was very very popular 😀 Amplefree parking.

I went to The Fox for lunch today and from start to finish it was a great experience! Food - I went for a lamb roast and everything was great, the meat was moist, the veg just had a bite, the yorkie was crispy and the cauliflower cheese was good and cheesy. The roast potatoes were a little light for my taste but each to their own. They offer a range of foods beyond a roast, I've had their steaks before and they were brilliant. Service - The staff are great! I booked a table in advance but when I got there it was in the raised seating area (bright and full of larger tables) I asked if it was possible to move to a quieter table and they moved things around. They were super nice about it despite it being busy. Food came out in well under 10 minutes which, given the quality of the food, I found very impressive. Atmosphere - The Fox is a pub of two halves, the lower section of the pub which wraps around the bar is warm, cozy and inviting, there are two fire places, one lite (book well in advance for a table) and one as photoed. The seating in this section is comfortable and embracing, perfect for a date or lunch/dinner with a small group. The other section is a raised seating area which is lighter and airier. It's a lot less cozy but is well suited for larger groups or louder gatherings (sounds carry a lot up there but muffles quickly as you move from the area) It's a lovely pub and well worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious. A perfect dining experience. We will be going back very soon.

Drinks are expensive Fish in batter was uncooked batter was soggy could not eat it But they did refund my money on the fish n chips Was disappointed when looking at the bill that the black peppercorn sauce was £2.95 far too much All the other meals where OK Must say the staff where brilliant

It's good, it's nice. The staff seem nice. The toilets have a mirror and a step and the beer garden is nice with comfy sofas right by the back doors there's also a kids playground so it's the perfect place for all the family, even Grandma! I can hear the main road but I think it adds to the charm!!

Had a table for 10 today and the food and service was excellent as it always is. Can't recommend the fox enough, you should try it, you wont be disappointed.....

Big portions loads of choice just wouldn't of ordered the pasta next time.

Not only were the ribs both generous and delicious, but the service went above and beyond. We arrived after the ovens had been turned off, owing to issues with road closures. Even though we said a sandwich would be fine, we immediately heard that they had been switched back on for us! We were not rushed, treated with such friendliness and made to feel rather special. We cannot wait to back there again because the meal made a great day into one of the BEST days. Thank you all.

The best food and staff . Polite fast and honestly the best grub I've had ever. I had the tasting board and oh my it was so amazing. Will be coming back again !!!

Athough we have had several meals here over the years,our latest visit merited a review. The food quality was excellent.The staff were friendly and attentive.The menu choice has something for most tastes.Highly recommended.

Really tasty food and great portion sizes, at a reasonable price. Staff and venue good too, rustic period building (mind your head!). Nice outside seating areas too with some seings and climbing frame for the kids. Recommended

Nice place but slow service with waitress taking our order then. 20 minutes after taking the order asked us again if we wanted drinks to which we replied we ordered them with you a while ago but other tables sitting down after us got their drinks before us. Food was good but again not that hot when it came but edible. Enjoyable but did not stop for sweets at just under £8 each we felt too expensive. Not sure we would go back due to slow service but all in all a nice place. For me slow service and coming back to ask if we wanted drinks when already ordered 20 mins before meant no more than 6/10. I would go back to see if they had sorted out poor service issues.

We arrived at 5.45ish without a booking but were squeezed in and still able to enjoy 2 courses. The portions were very large and the food tasted great. Service was really friendly too.

Have visited with parents 6 or 7 times in the past few months and the food is always excellent, service friendly and attentive, good range of beers too. Would highly recommended giving the Fox a try, you wont be disappointed....

We went to The Fox this evening to celebrate my sister's birthday, it was the first time any of us had been there and we were all really impressed. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was comfortable and welcoming. We will definitely be going back.

Excellent food, very large portions

Pleasant lunchtime visit on a busy Tuesday. I had the mixed fish grill which was very pleasant with a decent sized portion. I would've liked the two prawns though to have been peeled as it was a messy job having to do it on my plate which was dripping in a nice veggie sauce.

Meat platter that 2 of our party shared looked very good. I had Steak and it was anaemic and poor quality

Had a small works outing here last night and wow is all I can say, food was amazing, definitely recommend the hanging skewers, all 9 of us had something different and honestly you couldn’t fault anything. Extensive menu with choices for everybody and a Varied dessert menu, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Lovely beer garden with a play area for children.

My family had a fantastic time here. The meal was amazing the staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are very good. After the meal we were able to take seats outside and the children were able to play on activities and let off steam. I would highly recommend the fox.
