We had a lovely time at the fox, lovely atmosphere, had starter main and dessert, the food was excellent, nice sized portions, the staff were very friendly and efficient, this is our second time here,loved it thank you

We all had a super meal as usual, never disappoints, excellent choice, very efficient friendly staff.

We had an amazing meal at The Fox. My boyfriend and I came across this pub after searching for somewhere that had a gluten free menu in the area we were staying and we were blown away. As big meat eaters, we not only found that the food was insanely good and incredible value for money, it was also refreshing to find a menu with plenty gluten free options that you wouldn't normally find in a pub setting. Our highlights were the Asian Pork Belly starter and the tasting board. The staff were also friendly, approachable and very polite. We cannot wait to return.

What a treat! The taster menu brought plates and plates of beautifully smoked, delicious, fall-apart meats. Bbq sauce wonderfully mixed and the slaw and gravy accompanied everything perfectly. Beautifully baked sourdough, delightfully crisp French fries and a bowl of dreamy mac n cheese made this a truly special birthday combo. Genuinely felt like a feudal lord picking at all the plates, cracking jokes and slapping my thigh in between hearty swigs of Pepsi. The staff were all kind, considerate and welcoming - like family welcoming you over for dinner - and a little park at the back gave us a peaceful place to sit afterwards awhile and let all that lovely lunch go down whilst enjoying the surrounding calm of Hevinghams fields.

One of the best places in Norfolk, food just simply tremendous

As a family of four we have been here many times and always visit for our birthday celebration meals. This is the best place in Norfolk to come for burgers or bbq food. The atmosphere is great and the service is always excellent. Book a table now!!!

What a great find.Lovely pub with very friendly and helpful staff.Food was amazing and such huge portions.Highly recommend the rump steak.Desserts were delicious ,if you have room for one! Can't wait to come back.

Lovely roast lunch at The Fox, Hevingham. Could not fault it. Attentive and friendly staff.

Went there for a quick lunch. Polite staff, good selection of drinks on tap (however Aspall’s should take Inch’s place on the cider tap IMO!) The food was came out in good time and the burger was great. The Mrs had a chilli which was the best presentation I’ve ever seen of a chilli so top marks for that. Men’s bathroom could definitely do with an update and a good clean. I popped in there before my meal and it immediately made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen.. but hey, the experience was good; I’d just strongly recommend a bathroom refurb asap!

Got turned away when it was only about 20% full, no one sitting outside. They said the food would take 1 and a half to two hours. Call to check that the pub is completely empty before trying

We popped in with no booking on a Saturday around 6.30. Gave us a small table in bar area as all else booked, it was fine. Great friendly helpful staff. Very busy but did the job well with a smile. Great food could only manage mains good value.

Fox smoked tasting board was very tasty plenty of it enough for 3 people .It was Very Very busy but it was a Saturday night.

Delicious food. Service on desserts was rather slow, infact we waited for 4 out of 10 desserts for at least 20mins when we did enquire about them they didn't seem to know why they were missing. On the whole the food was great & they did deduct money from the bill for the mix up.

Lovely place, looks like a an old pub, but the menu can slap some "posh" places out of the equation. I hope chef checked that steak's ID, cause it was tender and juicy. 5/5

Nowhere on the menu or website is it stated last food orders at 1.45pm. Wasted journey, sure the food and everything is lovely, but this should be clearly stated.

We actually wanted to have a leisurely dinner here. We looked for a place in the large garden where the waitress was clearing away the glasses from the previous guests. She looked at us wordlessly, even though we greeted us in English, and went into the house. We assumed they would definitely come back soon because the table was very dirty and she would then take our order. But unfortunately that wasn't the case, after waiting a quarter of an hour we decided to leave this inhospitable place and go somewhere else dine.

Wonderful steakhouse. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the rump steak. Great pricing for the quality and quantity of food you get. The service from staff was incredible very attentive and friendly. Drink selection was great too. Large car park.

First visit, huge choice on menu. Everything we had was amazing. Very hot inside the pub on a hot day. Turkish kebabs, meat platter, beef short rib. Will definitely visit again.

The outside terrace doesn't look very inviting, the tables were dirty and there was no service.

Amazing place to eat, steakhouse grill style menu and the Texas meatballs are bloody amazing! Quick friendly service, great choice of drinks, big carpark and out door sitting area, really lovely place for a spot of dinner. Food was perfect!

I was staying at the Premier Inn as I was flying away on holiday the next day so I met a friend here for a pre-holiday / pre-birthday dinner. What a delightfyl treat I had too! The welcome from the staff were superb. The only fly in the oitment was there was a big family birthday party in and they were very noisy. We spoke to the staff and they instantly found us a better table.

Good sized country pub, set on the outskirts of Norwich. Good sized carpark leading to front or rear of pub. Friendly helpful staff, good service, and nice food. Would certainly consider coming here again.

Great experience and great food. On arrival the carpark looked full and the inside was pleasant. The choice on the menu was good varied options. I decided on the steak . The steak was flame grilled and my wife scampi was endless . Compared to other places I’ve been I can see why it’s popular!! Overall the meal was excellent … the phone kept ringing but I’m not surprised as it’s a good place to eat. I’m sure I shall return when I stay nearby “well done the Fox!!.

Me and my partner went to the fox steakhouse last night and the food was absolutely lovely! My partner is gluten free and they had such good options for him too. A couple of things I would say is that they ask you if you if you want drinks before you are even taken to the table, some may like this but for me this makes me feel rushed, and no tap water is offered at the table unless you ask for it, however, other than that, all in all we had a nice meal and we will definitely return!

Went on 25th may for wedding anniversary. My wife is in a wheelchair the restaurant wheelchair access has a step on outside and inside needed 3 people to lift my wife wheelchair in to the restaurant. Staff were not very helpful when I questioned about access. We only had a starter and half our mains as my wife felt unwell so we left, because of the stress of trying to get in, my wife had a seizure when we got home. I won't be visiting the fox again. Still waiting for a response to my email sent anout yhe night.

First time to The Fox and was not disappointed. Loved the menu which made it difficult to choose. Finally opted for the ribs which were amazing. Good choice of drinks. Service was excellent and would highly recommend this place. Will come again.

Large country pub located in Hevingham. Large gravel carpark leading directly to both front and rear if the pub. Reserved a table, although I think walk-ins are available. We started with a mixed platter to share, which included 4 large pieces of each of buttermilk chicken, barbecue ribs, large halloumi fries, and garlic bread. We followed this with a burger, each one blue cheese, and pulled beef the other pulled pork. Both came with fries and a good-sized side salad and some coleslaw. The burger probably would have been enough, but enjoyed everything enough to finish everything, although doggy bags are available. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is not overly expensive

Absolutely amazing evening at the fox. Food was on point, menu had a great selection. Service was great. Really can't fault it. Can't wait to go back

Can't fault the food. I've been twice and will definitely be back. For 4 adults it's approximately £100 for the food, then drinks on top. But, in my opinion, well worth it.

Most unfriendly welcome, 3mins to 2pm, was told that the Kitchen closes at two , but the ploughing up the road was serving till 2.30pm

A fantastic atmosphere here at the Fox. The waiting staff were friendly. Now down to the food! We went for a Pizza with pulled pork, which was deliciously crispy and soft. The flavours were great!and I highly recommend a pizza! Now for the main event, the BBQ smoking board! The chicken thighs were great, a nice smokiness to them, with the BBQ sweetness expected! The Beef ribs were well seasoned, and absolutely tender! One of the beef ribs was slightly over cooked but the taste was fantastic. The pork ribs had a great flavour, and we're extremely tender! I wonder if these were cooked in a slow cooker rather than a smoker? The chilli was a standard tasty chilli, as for the coleslaw. The corn was a disaster, my assumption was that it was boiled within an inch of its life, and then slapped on a grill to have some grill marks on them. This is especially a shame as something as simple as corn could let a meal down! You have excellent meats cooked well this would be a 10/10 if there is an adjustment for some of the basic areas! In all a fantastic meal, at a fantastic location thank you and we will return to try the corn again!

This was our second visit. It's best to book a table. The staff were cheerful and the food was amazing, you will not leave hungry! The menu had a great selection and the portions are huge.

Gorgeous burgers. I had the gluten free The smokestack blue burger. It filling but just so nice. If only I knew where they got the buns from??? 😆. Will be ordering next time for takeaway or a sit in. Thank you guys. Hope to see you again next time. Xxxx

Been to this restaurant a few times now. Always have a good meal. Always very good portions. The ribs are really good as is the mixed grill.

First time visiting here and will definitely go back, food was so good, highly recommend the Turkish skewers. Reasonably priced for the amount of you get, good range of alcohol and friendly staff. Didn't have to wait long for food or drinks either

Superb food as always. And highly attentive staff. What deserved 5 stars was the lengths the management went to move us away from a couple of very loud parties. We were prepared to leave, but staff found us a temporary table for a drink (complimentary) and gave us the next available table away from the excessive noise. Fabulous service.

First time visiting. Was very welcoming and loved the character. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We had the fox smoked tasting board for 2 and was so good. Definitely worth the price. Also it was great that they were dog friendly. They also do cocktails which was a bonus.

Everything about this pub was very good couldn't fault it.

I brough 3 of my elder relatives for Sunday lunch, I had been before and had been impressed with the food, so I though it's worth going again. I'm not going to go through each of the meals, but I had the Beef Sunday roast. It was a very large portion of food with very generous helping of beef. The whole thing was cooked to perfection and delicious. In fact, I would say it was the finest Sunday roast I have had anywhere. My relatives though their meals were superb too. The service was excellent, from some friendly staff. Absolutely faultless, I'll be back!

Love this place, I always have the smoked taster board for main, with half pint of prawns for starter. Me and my partner actually got the smoked board for 2, there was so much much food. Very well priced for the quality you get. We always drop in when we are near, can’t wait til next time. We couldn’t finish all the smoked meats, so the lovely lady got us 2 takeout containers so will be eating it today 😀 staff are very friendly and welcoming. Was very busy but you would expect that on a Friday when you serve outstanding food. But regardless of how busy they were we still had our food in good time. I would of waited how ever long to have that taster board😀 hats off to the chefs on cooking such good food 👍 Will be back again for sure

Second visit here with friends. Lovely food and choices. Unfortunately, there were power cuts which was a little weird, but didn't affect getting our meals.

Felt the place is in need of a complete makeover, looks tired, and grubby. Food was nothing exceptional. Menus dirty! A more modern less clutter.

This pub do the most amazing tasty skewers. I’ve been a couple of times and love the Cypriot one but friends have had the chicken. Well presented with lots of veg plus chips and salad and pitta! Too much to eat but very nice.

We had an excellent meal, just my partner & I. Food we couldn't fault but was about 10 days b4 Christmas & was a much time. Two groups/ work parties & we found it a bit rowdy. We just wanted a quiet romantic meal & didn't expect this. We didn't complain but wish we had been offered a table in the bar when they knew they had to parties in at the same time! Not everyone likes rowdy atmosphere to dine in! They were large tables, one at opposite sides of our table! X

Early Tuesday lunch meal. Glad we booked as already beginning to get busy. Ordered drinks and seated on upper seating area. Nice surroundings but a bit on the cold side, not like the warm cosy fire near the entrance. Main order taken a little wait as all different and cooked to order. Meals:- A lamb shank Moroccan style with couscous, minted yoghurt and flat bread. This like all the other food very tasty, the meat just fell off the bone. A Fox jingle bell burger large plate of Christmas food. Burger with Turkey, chicken, cranberry beef burger, pigs in blanket, chips and salad. ( best to see pic) Hanging skewers, one fish, one Turkish. Again all great tasting. Large meal so skipped deserts although the menu had a good selection. Service good. Yes we would return for the lovely food. Lots on the menu to try. Pictures of meal attached.

It was my birthday, we had a lovely family meal. We are coming for lunch today. Looking forward to that. Don't know how it was as our daughter +son in law for lunch paid the bill

First visit to the Fox and have already booked for another seating... The food was exceptional 👌 We all had something different and everyone commented how tasty the meals were. I've attached photos, not my best pictures 🙈 The service was amazing ~ the pub is sooo cosy, warm and inviting. Was lucky to be seated near the real fire. Great menu, took a while to decide! Went with the Turkish hanging skewers in the end.. and OMG!!!sublime.. Highly recommended then , we booked a table, I would advise this, I'm unsure if you could just walk in as it was very very popular 😀 Amplefree parking.

I went to The Fox for lunch today and from start to finish it was a great experience! Food - I went for a lamb roast and everything was great, the meat was moist, the veg just had a bite, the yorkie was crispy and the cauliflower cheese was good and cheesy. The roast potatoes were a little light for my taste but each to their own. They offer a range of foods beyond a roast, I've had their steaks before and they were brilliant. Service - The staff are great! I booked a table in advance but when I got there it was in the raised seating area (bright and full of larger tables) I asked if it was possible to move to a quieter table and they moved things around. They were super nice about it despite it being busy. Food came out in well under 10 minutes which, given the quality of the food, I found very impressive. Atmosphere - The Fox is a pub of two halves, the lower section of the pub which wraps around the bar is warm, cozy and inviting, there are two fire places, one lite (book well in advance for a table) and one as photoed. The seating in this section is comfortable and embracing, perfect for a date or lunch/dinner with a small group. The other section is a raised seating area which is lighter and airier. It's a lot less cozy but is well suited for larger groups or louder gatherings (sounds carry a lot up there but muffles quickly as you move from the area) It's a lovely pub and well worth a visit.
