Had Sunday lunch here, was staying somewhere else. Fantastic food, big food and drinks menu.Staff very efficient and friendly . Value for money. Will definitely go back here.

Amazing food across this chain’s restaurants and absolutely massive portions! I’m yet to see anyone complete 3 courses here, so I’d say that’s great value for money. Parking is adequate as Aylsham village centre feels a little crowded so it’s good they have their own car park, even though it is little; I’d allow a few minutes extra before your arrival to park just in case. Makes me hungry and wanting an excuse to visit again just writing this!!

So, we stopped in on a family recommendation. The fish and chips are probably the best I’ve had. My wife had the baked crab thermidor and raved over it and the salad. They serve full bottles of wine, a full bar, and soft drinks. The friendly and helpful staff can be a little slow with service, but they make up for it with a smile and cheer.

It's a proper old market square pub with a tempting menu that makes it difficult to choose what to have. They do gluten free bread as well. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Excellent food, fantastic service, good price. We booked a table for 10 very last minute on a Saturday and they managed to squeeze us in provided we could give the table back by a set time. Food was excellent quality and very good portions. Very accommodating to allergies and plenty of drinks available. We wanted deserts but would have overran past the time they needed the table back, however they were very helpful and said they could push it back a bit more to give us time to eat if we wanted. Overall, excellent food and service.

**Disappointing Mother's Day Experience** I took my wife and our two sons for a Mother's Day celebration the evening before (an 8pm booking as they only had this or 8.30pm left), but, unfortunately, our experience wasn't good. While the food was passable (not the high standard we've experienced here in the past), the lack of coordination in serving our meals was disappointing. After over 45 minutes waiting for our food, the first two dishes, which weren't piping hot, arrived. Then we waited another 5 minutes for one more dish and 5 minutes for the final dish. One of the reasons to go out for a meal is to eat it together, so we waited until all meals were served meaning some already luke warm food was cold. The food itself was okay, and the portions were big, but it was just on par with average pub food and I feel it didn't reflect the prices. To make the experience worse, after finishing our main courses, we eagerly anticipated indulging in some desserts. However, it seemed like all of the servers had disappeared and we waited 20 minutes before finally seeing anyone in the dining area, and flagging them down. When we finally managed to request dessert menus, we were then left waiting indefinitely without any acknowledgment from, or sight of, the staff. Frustrated, and with two boys becoming tired, we reluctantly made the decision to leave without dessert. We had to fight our way to the bar (not because it's busy but because there's nowhere else for people just drinking to sit) to pay. When we told the server who was now behind the bar with all the other servers (they weren't all needed there) why we were leaving without dessert, she just shrugged and said, "we're busy". It's disheartening that what was supposed to be a special occasion ended on such a disappointing note due to the restaurant's lack of attentiveness and organisation. We had hoped for a nice family meal but it was disappointing. I won't be back soon. We're from out of the area but I have made several visits with family and for business. As a result of this experience I'm now thinking of cancelling a booking next week at the sister pub, The Recruiting Sargeant as I'm concerned once-high standards in this chain have slipped.

Today we Ordered 2 x takeaway Sunday roasts. Received no veg, and what was included in the mixed roast consisted of more fat than meat, and what was edible meat was undercooked. We Put more in the bin than we ate which was disappointing at almost £40 for 2 incomplete roast dinners. Previous visits had been decent and having not ordered from here for a few months it was a shame it was such a disappointment as we have had good experiences previously. When we rang and informed the staff we had no veg, they offered us a voucher but eventually refunded 1 main meal.

We dined out at the Black Boys at Aylsham with our granddaughters. The team are always so friendly and welcoming. The food is absolutely amazing and the restaurant is always busy . This is our 2nd visit this week as week took our friends at the beginning of the week and they loved it too .. thank you all , see you again soon

Great atmosphere, nice staff amazing roast dinner.

The accommodation was well presented and clean. The 'pub' was set out like a restaurant in that there was nowhere for the people who were only drinking to sit, meaning everyone was standing around the bar. This made getting served very difficult and there was nowhere to sit or stand without being in the personal space of the diners. At breakfast, it took a while to be seated despite having booked, and it took 40mins for someone to bring our drinks over so we'd actually finished eating before we got a drink. Young waiter was very grumpy. It's a nice place, but I think it needs to decide if wants to be a pub or a restaurant because the current set-up seems a bit shambolic.

Lunch with friends. Excellent choices on the menu. Portion sizes excellent, but go hungry and come back full. Ales were well kept and tasty.

Disappointing. My meal, the suet pudding wasn't cold but wasn't hot either. Trio of venison consists of 1 small sausage, a very small portion of venison cottage pie and a virtually inedible piece of haunch that was overcooked, difficult to cut and almost impossible to chew. At no point did any of the waiting staff ask how our food was, not even at the end of the meal when they could see a large piece of venison left on my husbands plate. Definitely won't be returning which is a shame as the other restaurants in the colchester Inn group serve lovely food. Seems like the Black Boys has let the others down.

This is another great Colchester inn place to eat and drink. We had a flat iron steak with crispy beef and a wrap. Both meals were very tasty, big portions and great value for the size and quality. The service was spotty but they were very very busy.

I can't really comment on rooms as we didn't stay however the food is fantastic. Went for Sunday lunch and couldn't fine a thing wrong with it. Meat cooked to perfection, great extras and the gravy was wonderful (and I'm picky about my gravy 🤦‍♀️). Service was friendly and prompt. One of the best roasts in the area. Thank you

I was thrilled to discover this charming Aylsham pub, a hidden gem boasting ample space. It's a lovely, typical spot for a delightful experience in Aylsham. The atmosphere, and service is second to none.

Celebrated a pre-wedding drinks event here last night. Really dug both the pub and the marquee out back they hosted the event in. Service was great from Abby and her crew the entire the night. Stuck around for food and had the BEST scampi and chips I've had in the UK...proper whole prawns with light batter!

We have visited several times with no problems .. I booked a table today for 5 people as it was my mums birthday and my Husbands birthday .. the table we were originally give had an high chair so they changed that for a chair but the table wasn’t big enough to seat 4 never mind 5 .. I asked to be moved and was told they only had one bigger table we could use for an hour .. with a take it or leave it attitude so I was left with having to find somewhere else to accommodate a family lunch with 2 birthdays .. will we be returning .. NO I won’t which is a shame as the food is excellent .. shame the customer service isn’t at the same level!

What more could you ask for - great food, huge portions, reasonable prices, prompt service, wide range of drinks options. Great find, and the level that other pubs should try to emulate

Visited with family for Sunday lunch, what an amazing place! Food was excellent and staff were so good. It was super busy but staff were all attentive and kind. Can't wait to return. Veggie Sunday roast was delicious and the dessert was incredible.

We had lunch at the pub very busy at 1330. We had booked so seated quickly. Nice selection of beers and ales to choose from. Drinks arrived, and the food order was taken. Service throughout very friendly and efficient. Food all looked nice, very large meat suet pudding full of tasty meat with mash and veg. Large fish and chips and a large portion of scampi and chips. All the food was nice, but the common theme was large portions, so I would be very hungry. Lots of food is going to waste. We were so full there was no room for a desert. Therefore, the pub is losing trade and extra money. We will be back, but the portion size is a bit of putting.

A lovely long weekend spent at the Black Boys. The staff were always friendly, attentive and helpful in this popular Inn and hotel. Our first room was comfortable and sympathetically modelled in this historic building. We also stayed in the Lord Nelson suite which was excellent. The meals we had never failed to impress. As the Black Boys is so popular one evening we ate in the bar area which was noisy but still had a friendly positive vibe. The breakfasts, also popular with non residents, offered a good choice and we're consistently good quality. The Black Boys is in the centre of a bustling market town but with such attentive staff, high quality food and luxuriously comfortable beds you cannot fail to a good time.

Without a doubt the best roast dinner in Norfolk. Always fresh with the best quailty meat and very generous portions. Added to that a great atmosphere and really friendly staff it really is a place I would highly recommend

Friendly staff, comfortable beds, lovely pub / restaurant downstairs - it was fabulous! Wish that we'd been able to stay more than one night, but the food (evening meal and breakfasts) were so delicious, that I might not have fitted through the door! Plan to return!

We ventured out to the Black Boys on recommendation from the owners of Abbey Farm, we had a fab dinnerr, would recommend a visit

Booked this hotel as a last min getaway with my wife and 2 sausage dogs and wanted to stay as close to the beach as possible as due to several bad experiences previously with booking guest houses etc I was wary of what to expect. The pub/hotel is situated right in the middle of Aylsham town with ample free parking available at the rear plus there is an outside area beer tent for food and drinks. On arrival it was very busy in the bar area but we were dealt with very promptly by the manager. We booked the Lord Nelson Suite which was lovely, with all of the amenities needed for a short stay. The room was a little expensive but we were very happy with the quality and comfort we experienced. The room was pretty quiet especially when above the pub with little or no noise. We did not order any food as we had already eaten prior to arrival but the menu did seem pretty expensive for pub food however it did look nice. The only negative aspect of our visit was the price for 1 x night but we are seeing price increases across all accommodation across North Norfolk. Travel - 30 mins drive to Norwich- 25 mins drive to Cromer- 30 mins to Norfolk BroadsAll in all, this is a lovely stay with the rooms being of a high standard. The staff are very friendly and they are also very accommodating with pets. We would definitely recommend this place again. Well done.

Whilst on a mini break with our 3 dogs we fancied a meal out. We were welcomed with open arms and sat at a table in the main bar.When we ordered our food I asked if the pub could do some sausages for the dogs, and surprised when asked if they would like them warm or cold!The food was superb, and generously portioned.The pooches ended up with 2 good quality sausages each which they loved and we weren't rushed. The staff we so welcoming and helpful. A great meal out and I thoroughly recommend a visit here, with or without pooches.

During our stay in Norfolk we visited the Black Boys and the Bucks arms at Blicking, Both were amazing and would thoroughly recommend

The food was ok. Wasn’t fantastic. Over priced. Premises are nice. Free parking. Hair in one of our meals, cost of that meal deducted.

Visited with my family after travelling to Alysham in November 2021. The service was ok, nothing to shout about and the food was mediocre. The menu was a double sided A3 page suggesting a large portion is frozen. I had the ribs which were ok, but the sauce was (I believe) microwaved or my meal had sat under the heat lamps for a while. My father had a burger which he said was not great and my mother had the veggie curry. Unfortunately, there was a hair within this meal.The manager (I believe) attended and in fairness, did remove the item from the bill without asking, but not without informing us that nobody in the kitchen had hair that length or colour. I felt that this was a little accusative. However, I do understand. I would recommend the venue for drinks but not food.

Having a husband who has just had to go gluten free for medical reasons we've found many places don't really cater for this but, the black boys go beyond anywhere else we have been. The manager was so helpful explaining the menu, making sure my husband was happy to order anything as they were happy to change almost any item to suit his needs. The food was excellent. The staff were so busy but were very helpful. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are gluten free. I must also say this place is 100% better than another of the chains restaurants that basically threw the menu at us and said read it, it has gf on what you can have. Cant wait to go back to the black boys

Our family was seated in the marque as we had our dog with us. No room for starter nor dessert as all mains served were huge.

Despite last minute they managed to fit us in, food was fantastic. Great portions, and all was delicious. Nice fresh fish, and passion fruit martinis.

Food is lovely ..wine is expensive, service was very slow (outside) got bored of waiting for the bill could have walked off but went in and asked to pay

We had visited the Bucks Arms previously and enjoyed the lunch so decided to try the restaurant,The food was very good tasty and nicely served. The menu is extensive catering to all tastes. We shared some crab cakes, which were very good and I had the brisket of beef which was very tender and juicy. We all enjoyed the meal, the portions are large. The staff were friendly and worked hard. I would recommend this restaurant

Stayed for one night, room was large and comfortable and we had a room at front of the building overlooking the square. We had our dog with us and she enjoyed the view as well! We ate in the restaurant in covered area outside. Food was excellent especially the generously portioned local cod

Took my brother and partner here for lunch. Shocked to find no proper ramp to enable him to get into the pub. We were given what looked like a lump of wood fashioned into a triangle, not only highly unsafe but pretty sure wouldn’t pass inspection. To make matters worse we then discovered no disabled toilet on site for wheelchair users! Waitress told us to use the public disabled toilet in the town. Hospitality is required BY LAW to ensure premises are fully accessible and to supply metal ramp for entrance and exit if there is no level door access. So upset couldn’t even think about leaving a food review. Whole experience ruined it for us. It was a birthday celebration too!

WOW the food here is 10 out of 10 the quality presentation and portion sizes are excellent 👌 we will definitely be returning to this little gem

Part of a small chain of pubs in this part of Norfolk. Pub is situated in the centre of Aylsham. Good selection of beers. All of the food that we ate was first class and cooked to a high standard. Service was very good throughout in spite of the fact that they were extremely busy. Staff were extremely friendly with nothing too much trouble. Prices especially for North Norfolk were good.Well worth a visit.

We had our last evening meal of our holiday here as it was recommended. Nice pub atmosphere and dog friendly. The food was above usual pub grub standard all our meals from the steak to the halibut and crab salad were excellent and huge portions! Thank you!

We enjoyed a very nice meal at this great pub in the gazebo and the food was exceptional. The fish pie was generous, tasty and very well presented with a equally generous side dish of vegetables. The flat-iron steak tasted more like a fillet and the Cajun fries were surprisingly spicy. We wanted to sample the dessert menu but were beaten by the portions. This was a busy night but the staff were brilliant and friendly. No complaints at all.

Pounced on by staff who promptly shouted at me that “ we don’t do walk- in breakfasts” before even asking me what I was wanting on arrival at 11.36am!! I explained that I was meeting a friend there for coffee and was left to choose my table under the marquee outside. I then was forced to under my coffee before my friend arrive and pay for it immediately when I actually wanted to pay for my friends too After three or so minutes, there proceeded to be an electric drill and bandsaw notes from beside our seating in the marquee No explanation was offered and certainly no apology The noise was so unbearable we left as we couldn’t hear ourselves speak !! I felt so sorry for a couple of groups of people who had clearly come for lunch as had dressed up for the occasion!No sign of any staff over the age of 20 and general standards slippd. On prior visits when I ordered main meals and desserts, I’ve noticed that the prices have gone up and the portion sizes reduced considerably.

Happy, friendly staff and excellent food from a huge menu. The pub furnishings are classy and overall I would say this is among the best pub experiences in the area. The manager and his staff are a credit to the establishment.

We hadn't been for a couple of years, so decided to take visiting friends. The manager & staff are friendly & efficient, menu was extensive, cost very reasonable....portions typical Norfolk - large!

We came for dinner yesterday evening, we were comfy, cosy and warm in the marquee despite the cooler evening, all staff were friendly and attentive, I ordered the halibut with crab potatoes and samphire and it was amazing, a good size portion too, husband had the steak and ale pie and he can't wait to return for another. The creme brûlée and brownie were also to die for. Won't be long before we are back.

Booked a table here at the end of July for myself and my wife. All the staff seemed a bit stressed but pub wasn’t that busy. We ordered food and drinks and eventually food came.Food was great, but we had to ask for more drinks (at the bar) at no one came over.We finished our meals and had to wait 15 mins before someone cleared the table, not impressed.I then had to go to the bar and pay as no one came over.Will not be returning

We used their takeaway service whilst on holiday in the area. Arguably it was one of the best takeaways I have ever had. It was great to have something different, and on this menu, you got a great choice of dishes.The portions were very satisfying. Booking online was easy, choose your food, pick a time to collect, go to the pub a bit earlier to have a drink before you get your food.Cannot fault the quality or the service.

I have never been disappointed when I have had lunch in the Blackboys. The food is always really good. My only complaint is that a lot of my friends find the portions far too large. How about offering half sized portions guys? I personally don’t have a problem with the large portions but I have never had any room for a dessert. Thank you Blackboys stafff and Chefs. Yum yum.

We met family here for an afternoon meal. Service was good. Portions were on the large side which is not a bad thing but i think is reflected in the price as for a pub menu i thought it was at the higher end of the scale. The food was fresh and tasty and the menu had a lot of variety, my only downside would be I had the thai curry and the garnish of raw spring onions on top was a little overwhelming as I can’t eat these. Had I known prior i would have asked to have without but thats my preference. Would eat here again if i was in the town!

Norfolk seems overwhelmed with people so for once we booked this dinner in advance and were not disappointed. We both had fish dishes, hake and sole both cooked nicely. Starters and pud we shared, charcaturie and a brownie and ice cream, all great. Portions of everything were on the large side, they did not seemed surprised at our sharing. Would go again but we like trying places so back on the phone now to find 5 more places!

We arrived on the off chance that they had a table for 4 on a Sunday afternoon. Seated quickly and served straight away , we were surprised at such generous portions, great value for money and how delicious the food was. My son couldn't finish his burger but was given a box to take it away. We will definitely return very soon!

Service was quite good and we expected the food to be similar. Can’t argue with the quantity and for some this may be the signature of a good evening, however the quality of the food was poor, with the use of garlic receiving comments from fellow diners. Over cooked pretentious food!!!

I can not fault the food which was very delicious but as others have said, portions were ridiculously large and we wasted a lot. The waitresses looked like they didn't want to be there and the service was slow. There was half an hour between our main course being removed and 2 simple deserts being served. We were the only ones left in our part of the restaurant (people who came after us had been and gone) and it was clear they were focusing more on the next guests arriving. We took my mum who has dementia and they were less than helpful with her wheelchair or her slow and muddled behaviour. We we've been many times but won't return.

We had a lovely lunch here. There was an issue with one dish but it was really well dealt with - the dish was replaced amidst great apologies. Good beer and gin also helped the occasion.

We went for Sunday Lunch got the first time of 12 o clock. Due to catching the train from Wroxham and everything being closed got there a bit early and sat and had drinks. Very friendly staff. We then ordered food. My husband and I choose the trio roast which was beautiful and amazing value for money. Our son had kids sausage and chips. Staff happy to swap mash for chips and said they could do any roast in kids size. We were so full unfortunately couldn't fit pudding. Looking around other tables had ordered some amazing looking cocktails just a shame I had to drive.

Part of the same restaurant chain (Colchester Inns) as is the excellent Buckingham Arms at nearby Blickling Hall. Booked a family get together lunch at the BlackBoys in their outside marquee for that reason as it was easier to book for 9 at this location. Menu is similar to the Bucks Arms and we enjoyed a very nice lunch here. Main courses were very large as other reviewers have commented. (The sticky chilli beef on egg noodles was much larger than I expected but still had room to share a sticky toffee pudding :-D ). Dog friendly and happy to recommend.

Fabulous location, room 106 amazing overlooking the market square. Food was fantastic with generous portions.Amazing staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble . A lovely break!

Our local B&B host said "We don't eat there any more, the portions are just too big". So we didn't order a starter and went straight to mains - although the choice of starters was good. When our meals arrived they were huge. We both have decent appetites but neither of us finished our meals. Shame because the food was delicious - but 1/2 the size would have been plenty. Such a waste. Needless to say we didn't order a pudding either.Eating out should be an enjoyable evening - a couple of hours at least - relaxing with a starter, main and sometimes pudding with a bottle of wine. Surely, serving such big portions makes no business sense as they're missing out on sales of starters and puddings? We had three other tables near us and none of them ordered starters or finished their meals either.As far as the service goes it was disappointing. A male manager barking orders at his young waitresses who clearly didn't enjoy working there. They didn't chat with us or even raise a smile - although it was all quite efficient.This is the best pub/restaurant in Aylsham but if the locals aren't eating there, it says a lot.Coincidentally, the next evening we ate at the sister pub The Recruiting Sergeant in Coltishall/Horstead. Similar menu, lovely happy staff and charming Manager. The portions were large but manageable - we had starter and main but still no room for pudding! The food was delicious and we had a lovely evening. Head and shoulders in every way above The Black Boys.

Had a couple of lunches at the Black Boys Hotel with my wife and our dog when we stayed in Aylsham recently. Sat outside both times under the big awning, patio heaters were ready if it got chilly. We only had sandwiches but they were amazing, really good value for money. Service was a little slow on the drinks side but the staff were all lovely and very apologetic if we had to wait. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here this week. We sat outside in the marquee and although a cool evening, the outdoor heaters were on and we sat there feeling very warm and comfortable. The young lady behind the outside bar who served us was very friendly and efficient. My husband had the king prawn scampi and I had the pesto chicken with new potatoes and asparagus. Both meals were excellent. My chicken dish was very tasty with a glass of white wine. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant as we were very impressed.

Visiting the area and found this pub/hotel. The stay was good. The food was good, the bedroom with the view over the square out front was good and the toiletries provided were good. The waiting/bar staff were all girls who were fine. They were polite and friendly enough, but that little something missing. There was one girl however who stood out from the crowd. She just had that little extra and simply came across as friendly, a quality the others seemed to lack. Her name I believe is Robyn. For me, she just made our stay that little bit better. This observation was agreed by my wife also so thanks Robyn.

Delicious vegan food, with a different choice from the usual vegan fayre on offer in many pubs. Lovely staff, good COVID regs and a nice atmosphere. They also did fabulous espresso martinis. Will he back.

An attractive venue right on Aylsham’s main square, this pub serves HUGE portions at very reasonable prices without compromising on quality. In fact I’m not quite sure how they manage it! We had the Sunday roast lunch (in the evening) and the meat was excellent quality with plenty of vegetables. We should probably not have had one dessert each as they were immense! They also had a good choice of well looked-after real beers.

Just recently had a stay here with my partner and it was very nice. The hotel itself was aiming for a rustic look which looks nice. The bed was really comfortable and had all your general necessities when staying in a hotel. The ladies behind the bar where very friendly and were always asking if we were ok. Overall the hotel was pleasant and I would recommend going here. The only downfall was the drinks were quite pricy. £8.50 for a large glass of rose is a little bit much. The location is lovely and quiet and the locals are all so friendly. I recommend going to the chocolate shop as they do some lovely ice-cream.The BEST thing about this place is the restaurant. I highly recommend that EVERYONE goes here for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. Good value and wow! You get so much and its so tasty. I particularly recommend the duck dish!

Went here for dinner and food was lovely. However the service was a let down. Rude staff. Staff were whispering, staring and made us all feel very uncomfortable and like we were being watched the whole time. Other staff were stood around leaning on the bar, wearing extremely short dresses. Unfortunately due to the rude staff we will not be returning.

We ate here as were staying in the area. The menu looked amazing so we booked a table. The portions were very generous and it was hard to narrow down what to have from the wide selection. My husband had the burger which he really enjoyed. I had the trio of lamb which was very nice. My only disappointment was the belly of lamb was too fatty and had barely any meat. The other 2 were lovely. It was busy and had a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit.

Ate an evening meal here. Staff friendly and good choice of menu. Meals decent size. Everywhere socially distanced. Only criticism was salad was old but it was taken off our Bill. Would definitely return.

Called in on spec and got a table inside straight away. Good choice on the menu but all opted for Roast - great portions and attentive staff

We had stayed in a hotel in Norwich, and were on our way to Blickling Hall. We had seen good reviews of the breakfast so decided to eat here. We had a table at the front outside looking over the town square. The full English was excellent and a special mention for the staff who served us. They were excellent. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Black Boys Inn for 3 nights and cannot fault it. It is a very oldy worldy creaky place where nothing is too much trouble. We arrived fairly late and were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The room had everything we needed and was spacious. We wish we had eaten there more often as the food was fabulous, and that includes the breakfasts. A big outdoor seating area with bar and heaters was set up and all staff wore masks which was reassuring. Thank you everyone at the Black Boys - well done on your set up.

Full marks to the black boys for following strict COVID guidelines they clearly value their customers with all the effort too for the out side dining at the back of the pub. Staff are excellent serving very promptly and very attentive throughout our meal. I have given only four stars due to the enormous portions and the waste of food that clearly goes back into the kitchen. Definitely would visit again choosing smaller portion meal.

I eat out maybe twice a year, this was a family birthday., Bitterly disappointing, scampi undercooked, no colour next to no flavour. I left two thirds of the food. Bland, no seasoning

We were sadly disappointed tonight. We waited for a long time to be asked for our drinks order and then waited until two tables which arrived after us, were asked for their food orders. This meant that it was nearly an hour after we arrived before we ate. The main meals were not up to previous standards, the desserts were mostly inedible and the service was lacking (again compared to previous experience). The crab thermidor appeared to have no white meat in it and was an odd texture and the Eton mess was just fruit flavoured whipped cream. No detectable meringue or fruit. The sorbet was very nice, however that was the best part of the meal. Maybe they have a new chef or trainee.Our concerns were raised with the staff, however they did not apologise or seem to care, and did not hand the issues over to the manager. The desserts were on the bill when it was brought to us, however they did take two desserts off the bill, after the issues were pointed out (again). We are very disappointed, as the prices are not cheap and most of our previous meals and service experiences there have been great (excluding the one last week, where we also experienced issues). We will not be returning any time soon.

Visited for lunch on a blustery day, the outdoor seating area provided not only shelter from the wind but also welcome warmth from the heaters.Went for the fish, chips and mushy peas, what can i say, they were first class. Freshly cooked and piping hot putting many fish and chip restaurants to shame.First visit her but will definitely return to sample some of the other dishes from the menu.

Had a lovely lunch here - and a tasty pint. Service was spot on and the food was absolutely delicious. Very generous portion sizes, and really tasty. I can highly recommend the crispy chilli beef wrap - fresh, tasty and filling!The outside seating area and bar was really well managed. Highly recommended.
