Great choice of real ales. Didn't have food but it did look amazing, great price, will definitely come back and order from the menu

Standards are inconsistent. Raw roast potatoes and raw chunky chips. Lasagne was so dry and overcooked or heated that there was no cheese sauce left in it. Dry and rubbery pasta sheets and it was pretty disgusting.

Visited for the All you can eat Ribs and Wings . All Was excellent and portion so large we didn’t need to ask for top ups . Meaty ribs in a great bbq sauce . Spicy wings also . Loves the fries .. Have booked again !!

Xmas eve dinner 4 persons Food is quantity over quality Chairs were ripped/ stained/ dirty Floor not cleaned after previous diners ie party paper string etc Vegetable soup was like babyfood not much taste and had way too much pepper , i couldn't eat it and sent it back . My friend ordered Garlic chicken main came with mushroom garlic sauce and smothered the plate and had to scrape loads of it off to be able to eat the rest of the meal . I only eat the bread from the soup and they took the soup off the bill .but i didnt eat anything else as my friends had already finished their meal and i didn't want wait another 45 min so all in all i ate bread and drank a pint of water to wash away the pepper taste . We will not return nor recommend this pub .

Disappointed with the whole evening. Went for Xmas eve dinner seated in the conservatory area .Chairs were dirty /stained . Floor was not cleaned after previous diners . The food was quantity over quality. The veg soup was like glupe/ baby food with too much pepper. The garlic chicken main used same garlic mushroom topping as starter which was not ordered and way to much and had to scrape this off to be able to eat the meal . We won't be returning

We booked a very large table for my mum's 50th and they were very accommodating with all our needs and changes to numbers. Food was lovely and we were well looked after

Nice pub,never been in there before,put on a table in the corner, it was cold.Food was lovely, felt a bit uncomfortable thought.

Fine example of how a rural pub should be managed, blend of locals who pop in for a pint and visitors who take advantage of the excellent food on offer. 18 satisfied customers for our Xmas party will testify!!

Wow! What a lovely place to spend a windy, grey Sunday. Food was absolutely wonderful, homemade a perfectly cooked. A great menu to choose from. Staff are friendly and attentive. Such a shame I don't live nearby. But will definitely return sooner rather than later. Thank you!!

We’ve become regulars for the Sunday Roast (though we do also order from the menu sometimes). The food is always excellent, hot and fresh. The staff are friendly, fast and professional. There’s never a long wait for food, even when the car park is chock-a-block.

Tried the 2 for £12 Saturday menu and had the minced beef pie. Pie and chips were very nice. Staff were very pleasant.

Our second visit and it did not disappoint. The service was courteous, friendly and extremely quick. The food was very good and the ambience was relaxed. I couldn't fault anything, especially not the best Irish coffee I've had in a very long time. We will definitely be back.

Well what can I say the staff are absolutely amazing nothing is too much trouble we all have a laugh and a joke. It’s a lovely country pub atmosphere and well worth a visit and the food is great.

Lovely pub, nice welcome and good service from all the staff. Excellent menu selection plus daily specials. Good choice of cask ales and a very nice merlot. I had the 6oz farm burger with fries which was very tasty; hubby the gammon, double egg and chunky chips, which he just about managed to finish. Once again no room for a dessert so we shall return to have a lighter meal and try one or two.

We stopped in at 1pm on a Sunday on the off-chance they had a table - the pub was rammed! Luckily the staff were really friendly and helpful, and squeezed us in. We both had roast dinners - both were delicious. You know it's good when you've been eating for 10mins and you still can't see your plate. Amazing pub, would highly recommend.

Very busy pub was turned away first time went back later for Sunday lunch at 5pm I'm sorry to say it was dried up over done veg hardly any gravy couldn't finish the meal bit of a disappointment 😕

Our vis it tonight was spoilt by three screeching drunken females at the bar. Loud and disrespectful. They were obviously friends of the male staff member as he chatted to them and never once asked them to maybe tone it down. Im afraid It spoilt the whole evening and if that’s the way things are going to be then we have to think seriously about returning. We used to frequent this restaurant on a regular basis but since the change of hands it has definitely gone downhill. Sorry to be so negative .

Brilliant pub! Deal nights are great! especially the all you can eat chicken and ribs on a Wednesday. Excellent value for money and great staff too.

Brilliant food go on the two for one steak nights this was huge and cooked to perfection. 2 £30 ribeyes for the price of one!

Called in for late lunch - courteous bar staff we had Ham eggs and chips with onion rings. Chips were lovely and chunky, eggs fresh and cooked perfectly, the ham was delicious and very thick. Onion rings were large and juicy perfect. Dog friendly also.

Local to us. This place never disappoints. Great food, great service, always warm and welcoming AND I can take my dog. Always a bonus xx

I must say after my first visit to cantley cock that this was my best ever steak night there and it was absolutely amazing. The steaks were wonderful and the prices a bargain.Thankyou for a wonderful experience.

Excellent food and the Cantley Cock lager was very tasty as well. Attentive and friendly staff. Dogs allowed. A wee bit tricky to find but well worth the effort. Recommended.

On steak night I was looking forward to a nice tender fillet steak. Instead I was given a chewy not very nice steak which I am sure was not fillet! Four of us were eating steaks someone ordered the cheaper cut and I think I was given the wrong steak. I also ordered medium rare and my steak was cooked rare. Normally I don't order steak in pubs because they are so hit and miss. If I had ordered this meal at the full price of over 30 pounds I would certainly have asked for my money back. Every one else in the group had a nice tender steak! Overall a very disappointed customer!

Fabulous pub, off the beaten track. We had the gammon, best Gammon we have had ever. Big portion sizes, lots of flavour and seasoning to mushrooms and tomatos as well. Huge choice of mains and puddings, excellent ingredients, really friendly staff, lovely old pub atmosphere. The dog loved it to. Can't wait to go back.

Another yearly visit 16/8/24 Fish N chips was very good (haddock & cod) the mash was poor with my meal, other meals very good, berry meringue was tasty. service a bit slack compared to previous visits, but still worth a look. Very good family meal (7 people) very well priced, the steak N ale pie was with a " puff pastry lid" rather then full pastry but was very tasty, all were satisfied, very good portion of crumble N custard, nice service, 25/8/23 Another very good experience, the spare ribs are huge! Ploughman's lunch also deserves a mention, quite busy for a Thursday lunch time, fantastic value.

Our first time visiting - the food was lovely, great value for money. The staff were very friendly and welcoming too. Hope to come back soon!

I visited last Thursday with my grandson, while on a short break. There was lots of choice and the food was amazing with good portion sizes. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the following evening. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The Norfolk ice cream is a must.

Visited for the first time today as a large family group for a Sunday roast, absolutely fantastic, welcomed immediately on arrival, offered our table early and to order drinks straight away, may sound simple but it's amazing how many places get all of this wrong, once we all arrived food order was taken, again everything explained clearly, we all had roast dinners, some standard and some the trio meat, wow it was fantastic, good quality lean meat, great gravy, lively roast spuds and massive home made porkies, I can rate the food and the service highly enough, we will definitely be going back.

We visited here last night for the Quiz! It was great fun, the atmosphere was fab and the food was YUMMY! Lovely big portions, gorgeous flavours, lots of choice and great prices too! Best stilton sauce I ever had! Dogs are allowed and there was even AIRCON! The staff were amazing- really attentive and professional- felt extremely welcome! We hadnt been for a while (life stuff) but we will look forward to returning regularly and trying some of the theme nights too! Thankyou for a great night!

The staff are welcoming and friendly. The food is well cooked and presented. Nice range of drinks at the bar. They'll even bring your birthday cake, you'll need to supply it, to the table and risk setting off the smoke detectors. The staff are just simply awesome but don't take my word for it go and give them a try.💖💖

I ate twice in the restaurant for great tasty meals. At the wake of my brother the sausage rolls were pale and tasteless, the sandwiches were ok and the cake tasty. Would eat in the restaurant again if I returned to England.

We had an amazing meal yesterday evening (22/6/24); probably the best cooked well done ribeye steak I have ever had. Full of flavour & oh so tender. Even better was the 2-4-1 steak offer! Staff we polite, prompt & our drinks & food arrived promptly & piping hot. The ambiance is great - good country pub in the summer evening sunshine. The Cock was packed but not loud or rowdy, plenty of choice at the bar & on the menu for everyone. We will certainly be returning!

Plenty of parking and great location,this pub offers nice food at Decent prices. We did have to wait a little while for our food but it does get very busy and the waitress was spot on and friendly which was reflected in our tip. Would definitely come again .

Last minute booking into this place where the service was PHENOMENAL, the staff the friendliest, the food HUGE portions AND super delicious, the prices VERY affordable! We were with a 4 year old as well who declared her meal “the best she’s ever had”! Could not recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed local to this lovely pub, we came in on Sunday night to have a roast dinner, which we all enjoyed, big portions and very tasty. We came in every night to sample their specials, we went home full and happy after every visit. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome along with our 2 Golden retrievers who were loved by all. Fully recommend this place if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed 😊

We like coming to this pub for good value, tasty food and excellent service. The beer is nicely kept with a selection of ales. Should also make note of the wide selection of single malt whisky stocked.

This local pub has consistently good food. It’s a reliable place to eat and worthy of recommending. Unfortunately on this visit it was slightly marred by, whilst patiently waiting to be served at the bar, the person behind us (clearly known to a staff member) was served before us. Nothing annoys more than a queue-jumper! The staff are efficient and friendly. As a village pub, there are naturally a number of “locals” who frequent the place. They actually add to the authenticity and atmosphere of the pub.

Many of my locals have sacrificed the feeling of a Country Pub to focus on the restaurant. It was refreshing to visit tonight to enjoy dinner with family and still have the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional pub. The menu was vast with options for everyone, all tasted freshly cooked and the portions are very generous. Mark was very friendly and helpful and also recommended the Primitivo when I was deciding which wine to pick and it did not disappoint. My only complaint is I am about to enter a food coma from over indulgence.

Average at best, most of the food appeared to be cooked from frozen. Didn't cost much so guess if you you want cheap food that tastes like cheap food then here's a place to eat.

It was taken over in the last year and i would guess it will be upgraded as nothing has been spent on the place in a long time. The food is fine, perhaps a little on the processed side. Still it’s reasonable pub fare though im not sure you would go out of your way. Two main meals and two alcoholic drinks will maybe run up to £40. It is dog friendly and there is a new outside seating and smoking area. No disabled access

Went for steak night Saturday 4th May extremely disappointed fillet steak very small overcooked bit grisly didn't think fillet steak at all,more like small rump steak sorry but won't be back felt ripped off not at all happy gone downhill so sad as staff work really hard

This pub was recommended to us on our recent trip to Norfolk. It didn’t disappoint! The fish pie was definitely up there with the best I’ve ever had. Friendly attentive efficient staff. One mark off as they say they are dog friendly but you have to sit in a separate area which doesn’t have the lovely old pub atmosphere like the rest of it does. Big car park. Theme nights are AWESOME. If you like meat don’t miss out on Wednesdays!!

Went there for a meal on Sunday early evening. Didn't fancy a roast so had the suet pudding and veg. The pudding was split and rather dry the vegetables were bland and the mashed was dry and lumpy. Was okay but wouldn't rush back. But I must say the roasts did look nice. The dessert of mixed fruit crumble and custard was fantastic.

Visited Saturday evening as had family visiting and what a lovely experience it was. Great atmosphere, service and the food was excellent and great value. Saturday evening was 2 4 1 steak night and everyone enjoyed their meal.
