Great local village pub with all the local village characters you could imagine. Not eaten there yet under the new management but everything else is great. Warm welcome, plenty of parking, beer garden, good selection of drinks and always a laugh.

Gosh what a fantastic Sunday roast. Popped in yesterday for a wee coffee, smelt the chips so had to have some. I know yer thinking, it's just chips. These weren't just chips, gorgeous. Just had to go back today fer the full Sunday roast. Restaurant standard food in a country pub. How do they do it at these prices? The marrow bone gravy should be bottled.

After reading lots of reviews, we decided to try out the Sunday roast at our village pub. The service and food was really good, sizeable portions, and tasty too. The only thing which I felt was wrong, is charging £2 extra for a small pot of gravy. Every other pub I have ever visited for Sunday lunch, would bring an extra conplimentary pot of gravy if asked. That being said, we still enjoyed it and we will return. Thank you

Sunday roast is first rate. Best chicken I've had in a pub/restaurant & the beef I tried from my wife's plate was first rate too. Real sausage stuffing, giant Yorkshire's all well done. Staff are friendly & service is fast. Beer selection is good with 3 well maintained ale taps atop the usual lagers & ciders etc. Coffee and hot chocolates don't usually get a mention in pubs but the hot drinks here were absolutely on point. Prices are very reasonable 10/10 overal.

As this has been taken over by new ownership, and this is local to me, I thought I'd give it a good go. I was pleasantly surprised! The booking was easy and negotiable, with the service being just as friendly and simple. It has recently reopened so the menu is limited and times when certain meals are available, which is understandable. With having ordered the Beef Sunday roast this was delightful, empty plate from me! Lovely mix of veg, meat and gravy with sauces to choose from, some select veggies which are randomised to each plate but the flavours stood out to me. Friendly atmosphere and joy around. Definitely recommend to many and this is a place to watch out for as this will improve to be a great local pub.

Really disappointed after hearing great reviews of new owners and their Sunday roast. Turned up at booking time and had to wait almost an hour for a table (they had said they were having issues with their bookings that day but no apologies given), then an extra 15 for order to be taken, for how small the place this is a long time. Food came out in good time but was only warm, not hot, and only a small portion too, one parsnip, one bit of broccoli, two small potatoes. Most bizarre was the cup of tea (I was driver and was after a hot drink to keep warm), came in cup with milk already added, only place I've ever known to do it that way!

A friendly welcome and there was a good crowd inside. Between the two of us we had a roast beef and a roast chicken and an extra pot of gravy. The food was good. Nicely cooked and a good selection of veg. I had a nice sized slice of beef and my wife has some nice chicken breast. Plenty of gravy and everything was nice and hot. We were staying at the cottages in Spixworth, just over the road from the pub. A large group, we decided to take eat out for Sunday lunch, and this place was a great find! The staff were excellent with our large group, 19 of us including children. This included last minute changes and extra courses and none of this was a problem. The good was great, I didn't have a starter but others looked great with fresh side salads. We were given the choice of turkey and beef and both were great, my beef was really tender. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were amazing, and we were given a nice choice of veg - carrots, peas, broccoli and swede. Extra gravy was also provided in generous portions which is a particular favourite of mine! Puddings were great, all with the choice of custard, cream or ice cream. Drinks very reasonable value too! I should also mention considering the large number of us all the food came out at the same time and nobody was left waiting for a particularly long time. We loved Spixworth and if we returned we'd definitely go back!

4 of us had breakfast here and had high hopes due to need to book. My friends all opted for the big brekkie and all 3 enjoyed there's by the empty plates. Not cheap but you do get a tea or coffee included, no decaf option or latte available just ordinary but hardly the end of the world. My scrambled eggs on toast was very good value and very good, but my 2 side orders were forgotten and I had to ask for them. Sausage was very tasty, but I would have preferred the bacon more crispy but that's my preference. When next in the area would happily try again and other meals as this looks like a great pub from what we saw of it. Pleasant surroundings with a car park.

Went on Halloween for supper and bought a lamb diner kebab and a chicken gyros. While taking them back to my table I managed to spill both kebabs. The owner and the manager both immediately sprang into action, organised the cleaning and immediately ordered two more kebabs without any hesitation when it was completely my own fault. It was very much appreciated. The pub has put a premium on service and it shows. The staff had made a real effort for Halloween and the kids were thoroughly enjoying their outing.

We only went for lunch and we both decided to have the ribeye steak medium rare with chips. At £27 (now £34) a head we expected a decent steak but were very disapointed, it was tough, the waitress said she would tell the chef. They also add a 10% tip! A gratuity should be given for good service not just added to the bill.
