Remarkably good. Excellent coffee (made properly) taste of the coffee is different to anything you would find around. It actually tastes how you would want a coffee to taste if you were to go out and enjoy one. The breakfasts and cakes look insane and we will deffo be back.

We were a party of 5 for Sunday lunch. For once the weather was sunny so the pub was busy. All of our party ordered a roast lunch. I will comment on my meal. Having waited 1 hour the food arrived. My order of a full sized beef lunch was served on a plate so undersized that the food was stacked high. The beef was verging on grey in colour, dry over cooked, and tasteless - perhaps cooked sometime ago and frozen. The honey coated carrots were a nice touch but over cooked. The beans were also overcooked and with the carrots were under seasoned. The potatoes were fine. The red cabbage was a surprising addition but would have been much better if pickled. The Yorkshire pudding was fine but the gravy was thin and tasteless. The staff were excellent .Had my wife and I had not been with friends who live locally our meals would have been sent back. We like to support local pubs. Come on you can do better than this.

We visited with my parents and children (aged 8, 10 and 12) and we were all very impressed. Staff were friendly and professional, they checked for food allergies and were happy to make adjustments as required. The food was superb: the Desperate Dan, Fish pie and salmon all highlights. Also one of the best rhubarb crumbles I’ve tasted! The Yarborough is quite a find: a lovely welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. We will be back!

Expected restaurant to be good due to reputation but exceeded expectations. The food was top quality and delicious. Perfectly cooked. Service was excellent and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and we couldn’t fault it

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.

Called here this morning before going for a walk round Matlock bath. Lovely quaint little tea shop with welcoming servers. Just had drinks but the menu stated a variety of food and cakes. Great prices also. Would call again as lots of Covid restrictions in place so felt safe.

Good dining pub that also seems popular with the locals for a drink. Visited on a wet midweek evening but the place was quite busy with a nice ambience. Service was very good - lady behind the bar happy to let me sample the real ales and the young waitress was efficient and friendly, even though she was new to the job. Had steak pie with mash and veg - pie very good, with plenty gravy, although veg could have been more generous and a little better.

Visiting the area for the day, we located The Thatched Cottage via Tripadvisor. Booked a table for late lunch. Fortunately a pleasant day as having our furry friend with us we had to sit outside. Our lunch was as good as hoped for; a generous portion of roast lamb, served on a bed of lovely mash, accompanied by red cabbage, yorkshire pud, roasties and apricot stuffing. The sides of creamy blue cheese leeks and trio of carrots, french beans and swede were colourful and tasty. Our meal was served promptly and the half pints of Doom Bar washed our lunch down nicely. Friendly service A thoroughly enjoyable lunch, a good find which we would recommend We may not have booked had it been a cold wet day, delighted it wasn't. Note to TTCR, perhaps look at a doggy owner corner in your bar for diners over the winter months?

Stopped for lunch when on a walk with friends and the food , drink and service were excellent. We had battered fish finger goujons and tuna mayo ciabatta rolls , each with coleslaw and a cup of chips , really good . Good choice of beers . Good value as well for the quality , £8.50 I think for each of the meals . Recommended .
