Fleece Inn in East Lindsey

On holiday found this pub by chance. Staff were so friendly, nothing too much trouble, meal arrived quickly although they were very busy. Food was excellent, piping hot and very good value, also good portion size. Given a bell on the table to ring when ready to order, not rushed at all, although as I said they were very busy. Which in its self shows what an excellent place it was. Fully recommend it.

This restaurant is a real gem we went for dinner and although we rang up as they opened and hadn't booked they fitted us in. The staff were lovely and attentive the meal itself was outstanding we all agreed it was the best we'd had for a long time. Cooked to perfection lots of choice and delicious. If you're ever in the neighbourhood check this out you won't be disappointed.

Our fourth visit to The Fleece and it’s as good as always. Warm and friendly reception. The service from the staff was excellent. Dietary options were explained as one of our party had a dairy allergy. The highlight for me is always the Stilton Mushrooms as a starter… 😋😋😋. The ribs and the gammon steak are top notch too. If you’re in the area then it’s well recommended that you visit.

Wow what a place! Closed to people walking in at 8pm because they were only serving local people who were all ready in… WTF W**KERS……

We visit at least once a year with grandson on short holiday break and it never fails to please. Even our grandson says its one of the best he's been too for dinner. In the main its a good olde English pub with excellent staff/owners, serving food thats home cooked, with a variety of meal options and supported in our case, by excellent beer thats 'well poured' and very good white wine too. Puddings were excellent yet again. All at 'reasonable prices' when comparing the quality against similar pubs and restaurants. Will we come again next year? Absolutely... Thanks once again, for an excellent meal.

We went here last night with our skegness friends for dinner, well the staff were very nice, showed us to our table straight away, the pub was a lovely olde fashioned quirky place, been there many many years, the food was amazing, we had to wait a short while as the restaurant was full, very reasonable price , and a nice secluded garden with games for the "big"kids

Been here on several occasions, always fantastic food and service, can highly recommend the Stilton Mushrooms, Steak and Stilton pie and Lasagne, all beautiful homemade, we will be back again soon

Visited here when staying at a nearby holiday park. The fact it was early Monday evening and the place was pretty much full tells you how good it is. The food was superb. Proper home cooked large portions and decently priced. The venue is also excellent, a real point with very friendly staff. Glad we found this place, we will be back next time we are in the area.

What excellent food and service...highly recommend the Stilton chicken and rump steak.Wendy gave excellent service and we loved the little buzz for attention bell. Everything is homemade to a high standard, desserts were exceptional.

Five stars seem such a disappointment when clearly well worth an 8 or more out of 5. So top marks for quality and taste of food, top marks for portion size and top marks for lovely friendly staff. We arrived at 6.45pm and tge place was heaving with customers eating and we were the last to leave that night. Food was wholesome,home prepared and freshly produced, the portions were of a terrific size and there was a fantastic atmosphere. The food was piping hot. We enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday lunch.

What a gem of a find! After reading reviews we decided to book for lunch before returning home after our weekend break for mums 60th. Wendy could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and not a piece left on everyone’s plate. The staff could not do enough for our large party of 13 and the dedication to customer service shone through. Thank you 😊

Ten of us went here for lunch (7 adults and 3 children) on Mother’s Day as we were staying in the area. We had a lovely meal, lots of different foods, great options for the kids and it all arrived at the same time. It’s table service and the landlady was really friendly and funny. Would recommend if you’re in the area

we visited last Tuesday on the stroke of midday and was welcomed in by Wendy, who is the best host and landlady anyone could hope for. we found out it was a family run pub, with various members doing various roles - and by the time we left we felt like honorary members of the family. 😁. Wendy was so welcoming and kind (along with her young staff member, on the day) that I'm still smiling now, thinking of our visit. the menu is varied, something for everyone and it's not just the usual good country pub grub, there's unique and inventive things on there, such as Mushrooms in a creamy stilton sauce (5 stars, delicious) and a massive Yorkshire pudding with various filling options (5 stars, we had Lincolnshire sausages). we live four hours away but if I was ever in the area again this is the first and only place I'd choose for lunch. fantastic, thanks again for having us and hosting us so nicely. it made our day.

Ok so where to start , we have nearly tried every dish on the menu trying to find something we don't like and so far we love it all , all starters are perfect and taste amazing I highly recommend prawn cocktail & the wife would the soups and roll , mains for me there mixed grill (don't get the chips on it it's impossible to eat them too the meat is enough the potion is huge) it always cooked perfectly and in close second it would be fajitas and the wife was the roasts and thatched cottage pie and desert we haven't had many due to how big the portions are but my favorite was purple haze the wifes was the sherry trifle The staff are amazing kind caring , the owner are friend kind and always welcoming and the buzzer system is genius

5 Went with family after having a recommendation. Differently a great choice food is outstanding Very good portions, the steak pie the meat just fell apart . The ribs are excellent, if you have room for pud every good as well . Staff are very nice to talk to we met the landlady unknowingly as she works in with everyone else very nice lady . Staying one night in the village and very few options for eating out. The fleece Inn was recommended so I decided to try it out. Nice lady welcomed me and although I didn’t have a reservation and I was alone, they still made a place for me even though the restaurant was becoming busy very quickly. I ordered the Bbq chicken bacon hickory. The order took a bit longer to arrive but I soon found out that it was worth waiting a few minutes longer. The portion were large with lovely cooked new potatoes, garden peas and cabbage, the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The food was piping hot served on a warm plate, the chicken breast was large and not over cooked. Nice and moist. It was coated with a slightly hard piece of bacon and melted cheese on top. The chicken was served in a separate baking dish on the main plate. The only minor issue was that the bbq sauce was a bit too much or should I say too concentrated and did overpower the taste of the chicken. Other than that it was a wonderful meal. The price was very reasonable especially given that the portion was large. Not often one gets a freshly cooked meal in a busy pub restaurant. Highly recommended if ever you are staying near by.

Dog friendly pub. Called and booked a table for tea. Very pleasant hard working staff. Something on the menu for everyone. I did have to question the bill as I thought they had missed something but no.. very happy with the quality, amount and the bill. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

We are staying in the area and decided to have lunch there, as such good reviews. Partner was there first, ordered a pint of well kept beer, checked if dog could go in and if doing lunch. Yes to both. I arrived a little later to partner sitting outside with pint, told kitchen closing as no other customers and pub also now closed (1pm) Sadly we will not get to find out if as god as the reviews say. Difficult times for all pubs these days - but please keep you info on opening up to date.

We went for dinner this evening and it was just spot on. I had steak, cooked as requested. Chips were tasty. All food was piping hot. Brought out in the time you would expect fresh food to be cooked. Drinks were brought quickly. Everything was reasonably priced. There was an excellent range of desserts. THE STAFF - GORGEOUS in every way. Polite, respectful, funny and still professional. Premises were clean and tidy, well presented. Lovely country pub/restaurant. The bell given to each table for service was such a brilliant idea, but you know us English, we don't like to bother people !!! Haha I enjoyed it so much I have booked for Sunday dinner x

Me, my partner and our 2 daughters with autism went for a meal last night after hearing from locals it was great. Amazing experience, staff were so friendly and made us feel so relaxed as our daughters can struggle on restaurants, they gave them free juice and games to play with, offered us a seat in the garden where it was quieter for our girls which was a lovely area, there was 1 wasp which my eldest is terrified of so we ended up coming back indoors. We were chatting to the owner after she came to our table and mentioned we were having a great time on holiday but had a few problems with our car, having to get the aa out and paying a fair amount of money. We all enjoyed our delicious food and at the end the owner came over and told us everything was on the house as we were such a lovely family and it was a gesture because of our bad luck with the car. We were adamant we were paying the bill but she wouldn’t accept it, we went to leave a good tip but again she wouldn’t accept it. 5 stars and very grateful for the kind gesture. Thank you very much.

Popped in after a quick search when the place we wanted to visit did not pick up our call. What a lovely little gem of a place. The food is good quality home cooked food, portions are very big, so much so I skipped the starters the second night so I could manage pudding! The staff are attentive and absolutely lovely, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Excellent food at excellent prices. Will definitely visit when in the area again.

Superb food, owners and staff were brilliant, they managed to fit us in after an error on our part with the booking. If I lived closer i would go every day. The whole family had steak and chips for mains, tasted absolutely lovely and plenty of it. Desserts were divine.
