The best restaurants serving American food in Mid Sussex South East

Highly recommend this place. Food fantastic, best meal we’ve had in a while. Atmosphere great and all the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing evening.

First time here and first time out for dinner in east grinsted. Great food, great drinks and great service. Sharing platter was insane and staff couldn't do enough to help us 10/10

I went to this restaurant this evening with my daughter for my birthday. It was really nice inside and spotlessly clean, and the manager of the restaurant welcomed and served us personally. He was such an incredibly nice man, I don't think in 46 years I've ever had more personal or attentive service. But more importantly than anything else, the food was exquisite. We had the Argentinian Steak experience for two, and it was well worth the cost. Truly top notch, and nowhere near what you'd pay in London or a big city centre. As if that wasn't enough, the owner gave both me and my 11 year old daughter a drink on the house for my birthday, and brought out a small Banoffee Pie with a birthday candle that we didn't even order at the end. You just don't get that sort of customer care very often these days. Which is why it was so incredibly sad when he told us he was selling up and closing the restaurant... that in fact it will be closed within a matter of weeks. He said he couldn't make it work any more in a small town like East Grinstead, and given the state of the world today, it's not surprising I guess. The restaurant was empty, apart from us. Even on a Thursday night, this place deserved to have customers. This man has clearly put so much love and care into this restaurant; it's an absolute tragedy that such even great customer focused businesses can't make ends meet in a world where even a weekly food shop uses up most people's disposable income. This restaurant closing will be a huge loss to East Grinstead. My best recommendation to anyone reading would be to get yourselves there ASAP, before it does. Not only is the food great, but this kind and wonderful man clearly deserves the support of local residents.

Honestly best meal we have had at a Miller and Carter. Can't speak highly enough of Jacob, credit to your team!

Absolutely delicious Thai food! Great bar with live bands on a Thursday. Very friendly staff! Lovely place to sit outside on a sunny afternoon, dog friendly too.

Large car park on arrival for a town,spacious garden area friendly staff , Clean restaurant area ( even some children’s toys) . Large clean organised toilets, Good choice on the menu ( vegetarian and vegan). Service was good and knowledgeable waiting staff, Food was as menu worth the waiting, All food and drinks are good value,

Shame it's gone, we loved eating here. What a loss. Beefeater used to give great value meals and such friendly staff. Sorry to see another great chain disappearing.

Another excellent meal at KJ Thorne. Homemade stake and ale pie amazing would definitely recommend. Breakfast was superb as usual. Well worth the walk out of town.

40 mins in and still waiting. Worse “fast food” restaurant in town. Lack of staff and endless Deliveroo collections are prioritised over other customers. Very disappointing.
