Wonderfully welcome staff especially as they had only just opened. Had a lovely coffee and piece of locally made Barrabreith with proper butter ... thank you x

We should have checked the number on the door but once seated it was like we were taking part in an episode of Inside No.9.
In the space of the old butchers shop, four tables of two were individually introduced to the evenings concept by Head Chef whilst his Commis Chef meticulously laid plates.
It was a secret tasting menu with wine pairing and as a loosener we were offered a fizzy scrumpy cider, apparently made in the technique of Champagne. This needed to be nursed as the main wine wasn't due to commence until 8.30.
The two Chefs were busy at the pass preparing courses and each individual plate was dryly explained, thankfully to us all at once.
In my reviews I would normally describe the food but at Sosban the ingredients of each serving is vast and more complicated than a science lesson, however the taste and flavour of each course reached its conclusion worthy of his star.
Overall, the food was thoughtful and different, albeit smaller portions than the norm at such restaurants and one or two more courses would have been welcomed. The lively background music often competed with Head Chefs explanations and the evening ended quite abruptly, perhaps with the trademark twist we had expected at the start with an absence of coffee and petit fours.
We having been visiting this cafe for many years now,and guess what.................
Better than ever!
Simon has it down to a fine art, food is always good ,Clair and the staff very pleasant and helpful.
See you all soon(with little doggies Bobby and Alfie too) !
Very friendly snack bar ( alfresco eating ). Excellent food, great service, and all with a happy smile. Just keep a wary eye out for sneaky seagulls. Great views at the benches surrounding the little harbour, and sands. We had cheese and ham toastie and coffee in the sunshine . Great on all counts.
What a treat, the cafe has everything: delicious food and a lovely games / toy area for children. We had sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a wonderful lemon scone with lemon curd. Our dogs were made welcome. Would highly recommend 😊
The Bothy Tea Room were an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Situated at the Colby Woodland Gardens, what set the tearooms apart from typical cafés at National Trust grounds was the array of loose leaf teas on the menu. There were some delightful-sounding herbal brews, of which we only time to try one, in addition to their black tea house blend.
All teas and cakes were served in bone china, which made the tea-drinking experience truly decadent.
There was a good freshly-baked cake selection too, which perfectly complemented their teas. For a tea and cake-focussed room, they had some surprisingly inventive bread rolls and baguettes, too.
Service was polite and helpful, and the staff managed well during the busy time we visited.
Located at the Colby Woodland Gardens, the location was perfect for lunch during the middle or at the end of a walk. It does become very busy during the middle of the day, though. There is a little indoor seating, with many more benches outside.
We were delighted to have lunch and tea here, and would fully recommend it!
Thoroughly enjoyed our recent visits to The Ship Aground whilst staying in our bungalow in the area. As always, we received a warm welcome from Julian, Alison, the rest of the team and the locals, with the beer to its' usual high standard. The place was buzzing on the occasions we visited and I only wish that this pub was in Cardiff!! Looking forward to our next visit.
The food arrived really late and the meals were mostly sauce. There was barely any meat in the dishes. There was only 1 prawn in a prawn dish. Wont be using them again.
Just been to Morgans for lunch. The food was cooked to perfection and the staff are all so friendly. Highly recommend this eatery as probably the best I have ever had. Thank you.
We came with four dogs and were warmly welcomed. ( dogs had sausages which was very popular) food was lovely and staff so lovely. This is our second visit but first with dogs. Totally recommend
