We arrived for dinner on a Saturday evening, place wasn’t too busy but it still felt like the small group in the corner were quite loud but I think it’s down to the layout of the restaurant being one giant room. Service and quality of the food was very good, wouldn’t say it was 5 star service or 5 star food, so would of been 4 stars but I personally found it ridiculous that they didn’t have any alcohol free beer, so you lost a star for that.
Excellent in every way. Lovely welcome, excellent food and fantastic bedrooms. Stayed on business but would go back with the family. Da iawn ac ardderchog.
Best meal out ive had in a long time! The food was delicious, I had the lamb and the crumble, the burger my partner had was also of high quality. Many compliments to the chef! The wine was also delicious, even the house red! The atmosphere is cosy and rustic but proper and the service was 10/10, all waitresses were very helpful and obliging. Would recommend to anyone!
Fabulous, high end food. We visited purely based on how nice this pub looked when I drove by and the online menus. We went for a family birthday and the food was divine! Service was very good, with lovely friendly vibe.
This place had character about it. Not plush or fancy and a little cramped in the main dining area but the lovely view out of the window watching the steam train, the lovely food and relaxed atmosphere made it a pleasant experience. We had a mix of food between us. Pasta dishes, sloppy joe wrap and a sandwich. Added bonus was that the eatery is dog friendly. Our dog was welcomed in without problems.
The best roast dinner I’ve eaten out anywhere, ever. I’m a good cook and often disappointed by roast dinner out, but this was very good and very tasty. Delicious cheesy leeks were a lovely addition to the roast, which came with lots of fresh veg. The Roast Ox is a great pub with very friendly staff. A party of 8 of us, plus our 2 dogs, were made very welcome. I only wish we didn’t live 3 hours away, as I’d be there every Sunday!
