Food and service was fine but the dog policy needs looking at. We were asked to move tables so that some people with a 'problem' dog could sit in the corner which was a bit annoying but at the time we thought fine, whatever. We were still only the next table along so quite close to the dog which was a large alsation, muzzled. It is only a small cafe and it was unpleasant to then find ourselves basically in the middle of a dog fight when someone else tried to leave with their dog and walk past the alsation. It lunged and barked aggressively and deafeningly loud for way too long. Me and my toddler were terrified. Following this, the people with the reactive dog were not asked to leave but the staff actually made a fuss of this dog and even encouraged the owner to remove its muzzle!!!! I could not relax for the rest of the time we were there, I was constantly worried about another dog entering the cafe and causing another reaction. I'm sorry that this dog is like this and it may not be the owner's fault, but it's wrong that the staff should prioritise the comfort of this dog over all the other customers.

I cannot begin to express how wonderful Julie the manager and her team are, they really made our wedding day one of the best days of our lives, they made planning the wedding stress free, and they care about every little detail. The venue is spectacular, the food was exquisite, I really couldn't of picked a better venue, our day was perfect, the package price was brilliant, the only downside is now we are married I have to wait a few years until I can book a vow renewal there 😂. Julie is fantastic at her job, every bride needs someone like Julie, and we seriously struck gold having the pleasure of working with her,she really did make our day our dream wedding. We love the emlyn hotel, the venue is one of the most beautiful places we have seen and we were very lucky to be able to book our wedding there, everything about it is so beautiful, From the chairs, walls, ceilings to the floors everything is stunning and the little extras you can hire there were amazing too. The taster evening was also amazing They put on a mini wedding reception, to try their food, and boy oh boy it was stunning,it was very very differcult to choose between the menus as everything was so tasty. The food on our wedding day was perfection, including the breakfast to the bridal suite in the morning, it was out of this world. All the staff went above and beyond for myself and my husband and we can't thank them enough for all the love, warmth, care and professionalism they showed us.

Had a takeaway roast Sunday dinner while camping locally. Opted for the beef dinner. The food was amazing. 3 large slices of beef which were really tender, a crispy Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes & parsnips, stuffing & veg plus a large pot of gravy each. After eating my fill I reheated the remainder over an open fire for supper later. The beef was still tender & I still didn't eat it all, but my dog licked the foil tray clean and also approved. Great price, great food. I camp at Afon Teifi quite often & will definitely be having this again when camping!

Don’t be put off by the smell of cat spray on the way in!!! I was a bit dubious but the food was good. It looked average when it came out, everything in pots, chips, peas, rice (why?) but good portions. It looked deep fried and a bit over cooked but everyone agreed it all tasted good. Very friendly to dogs and a resident dog and at least a couple of cats. I think the land lady / manager could look stern, but I think she was just checking everything was ok and when I chatted to her she warmed up and was friendly. We will be back!

After a few days camping in a field in Cwympengraig we chanced on Emlyn Hotel. The Bistro was recommended so we gave it a try. I was delighted that the cod was in gluten free batter. It was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. The Lentil and Spinach burger was good, but was a curry flavour. I like curry, but was going more for a classic taste that night and it didn't say that it was a curry burger. Having said that the gluten free roll was excellent and from a local baker and the triple cooked chips were fantastic. My husband had the welsh cake stack with Penderyn Ice cream and maple syrup. He said it was utterly delicious!

Locals, but only been here twice before , and was good. But tonight terrible - Just finished putting my beef in the dogs dish - awful. Beef with spring onion and ginger - bland, beef chewy lumps, 2 small pieces of ginger. Pancake roll - lifted bag - soaked thru with oil - roll flattened to a crisp with over cooking.Sweet n Sour chicken balls in batter - put knife in, oil splattered across table. Ate the chicken , batter in bin. Very disappointed , whatever happened ?? Won’t return.
