China Kitchen in Carmarthenshire

Newbie in Newcastle Emlyn so thought I would try out the local chinese.. Wish I had seen the reviews first! Luckily I only ordered one dish, my fav special noodles..Yuk disgusting dish & full of the black gloopy sauce that they seem to cover everything in! Worse chinese I've ever tasted I won't be going back! I just hope my stomach is ok through the night;(

Decided to get a Chineese as it was getting late, we then phoned and was told to wait on the phone for 5 minutes, then to be told our food was going to be an hour wait. We then made use of the time and turned up an hour later, I then proceeded to wait another half an hour in the takeaway. On a better note the food was lovely and tasty, just wish we hadn’t had to wait so long for it.

Great tasting Chinese food, we always get our New Years Eve Chinese takeaway from here, always super tasty and the staff there are great

China Kitchen in Newcastle Emlyn is our FAVOURITE as my wife and I thoroughly enjoy the tasty food. We make it a point of treating our families visiting us from Cambridge, Haslemere in Surrey and Hayes in Middlesex which they too relish! Our nephew in Cambridge treated us to a Chinese takeaway while visiting them but, wish to insist China Kitchen takeaways are hard to beat ! Keep up the good work! Anyone writing bad reviews needs to have his/head examined!

By far the worst Chinese I’ve ever had! I’ve never had a special fried rice with a thick black gloopy very salty (soy sauce) sauce drenched over it with slices of meat and vegetables on top. Every Chinese I’ve ever had special fried rice from has been egg fried rice prawns, chicken, pork mixed in, no gloopy sauce, needless to say we will not be returning

We have lived in different counties in U.K. and tried out Chinese takeaways over many years to find the very best is closer to home where we are now in retirement! Over the past 2 years since moving house for the last time, we discovered China Kitchen in Newcastle Emlyn is unbeatable when it comes to delicious meals coming in generous quantities! We treat ourselves to their takeaways on a regular basis and entertain our families during visits from Haslemere in Surrey and Cambridge with same which invariably becomes their highlight ! My favourite is always King Prawn fried rice with king prawn curry for their sheer flavour of chunky prawns ! It is out of this world! Our families think the same !

Good Lord,if I lived nearer, I'd be straight back for a full refund for my Duck in plum sauce,the total mirror image of my friends chicken and pineapple in a thick gluppie syrup. The latter I'd expect as 19a came under sweet and sour, so why on earth was my " Plum Sauce" swamped in this glupie syrup @ £2 PLUS extra. WASN'T ordering for anymore tooth decay or pineapple with my duck as my meal was not as described, my dish was a plum sauce,not the more than vibrant orange sauce out weighed in thick pineapple chunks. You totally mislead me. Next time I want that much sugar on my plate, I'd go to a cake shop. Till then I try to keep my options healthy to a degree,this dish is seriously horrible and totally not what I ordered and seriously a con. Will never come to your takeaway again

The food was very average. on a positive note we didn't have to wait long for the food. Probably wouldn't revisit.

They were the best in town when they started, not any longer that's t third Friday night special fried rice was Blan. The Beef was more fat than Beef no prawns. Never tasted worse. Lucking else where now. When they were good they were great. ☹️☹️

Food was absolutely disgusting, Bland and looked awful. I was made to wait outside in the rain to be let inside. Service was slow and The food was extremely overpriced

Three times the call was cut off, so if you want to survive as a business, try to provide a service.

Been going here for years and was extremely disappointed with the food that I got today completely messed all the orders up I expected better

I've lived in West Wales for 10 years anh had given up on take aways.. Until today! This is a proper old school Cantonese take away, we as a family absolutely loved it. Generous portions, tasty and not salty or greasy, and good value. Highly recommended.

Great little place for Chinese in Emlyn. Been coming here for years and was nice to see it back open after lockdown. Love the special fried rice and chicken balls. Our favourite to say the least!! Staff are friendly and always great going in for a chat.

Had their Chinese the day before yesterday and placed the rubbish in the bin outside our house. Came back two days later to a maggot infested bin so our food had clearly been left out and fly’s have been able to lay eggs on our food. We ordered a curry and chicken balls and so we aren’t sure from what but all of the boxes and bag is covered in maggots. For your own health’s sake, DO NOT use this Chinese, EVER.

Food fantastic, friendly staff ..no other words needed!! Good atmosphere. Would highly recommend. If you are lucky you can park opposite the restaurant otherwise there is a car park around the corner.

This is the best Chinese for miles, the food is fresh and the staff are lovely and willing to accommodate anything they can. We have tried all the Chinese in probably 15 mile radius and nothing compares to China Kitchen. My personal favourite is king prawn chow mein and house special fried rice.

Just came to this take away. Staying in local area - Sunday 22nd September. Bought a chicken chow mein, veg chop suey, mixed Chinese veg. Quite frankly the most grotesque food and Chinese I have had the misfortune of eating and calling food! Tasteless, runny, complete and utterly unacceptable. The chef quite clearly has no taste buds and does not know how to cook! Bland beyond belief. Spent £17 and it all went in the bin! We re staying in the area and thank god we do not live here if this is the standard we would have to endure from a Chinese takeaway. I would not feed this tasteless slop to my dog. DO NOT GO!! Avoid at all costs. Complete and utter waste of time and our money!

We ordered meals for two, spare ribs, prawn toasts, duck chow mien, crispy beef, eegg fried rice, bean sprouts and prawn crackers. The bill came to £32.95. After having a small taste from each dish we dumped the whole lot into the bin. It’s hard to describe how absolutely awful this food was. The smell, colour and texture was vile and disgusting. If I’d ever tasted dirty washing up water I would say that this is what it must taste like. I would strongly discourage anyone buying from this takeaway. I telephoned to complain but the woman I spoke to was clearly not interested in my complaint, was abrupt and dismissive. Very curt when I placed the order too. I wouldn’t give any stars at all if that were possible. Sloppy, slimy rubbish.!!

over salted, sloppy food which ended up in the bin Super Garden was not open so I made a terrible mistake and ordered from China Kitchen. Disgusting and what a disappointment. over £40 wasted, We will not be eating from there again!

We ordered as our first choice was closed. We chose our favourite Chinese dishes and the difference was quite disappointing. I like a chicken chow mien, but I like a dry one and this was swimming in gravy. We like shredded chilli beef, but this was so sugary sweet, it didn't taste like the sweet/sour/hot dish we like. The other dishes were too salty for us, we don't add salt to our cooking. It wasn't horrible, but it was not what we are used to.

We made a mistake and ordered from China Kitchen instead of Super Garden who we normally order from, we thought ... hey perhaps this was meant to be .... what a disappointment. £57 pounds wasted, the highlight according to the kids was the ... never again.

Esta es mi primera opción China alrededor, la comida siempre es deliciosa y queriendo más. Merece la pena ir aquí para ver la señora volviendo loco golpeando las teclas en la calculadora. Lo único malo que puedo decir es que no hay ningún aparcamiento fuera aparte de amarillos dobles y si hay un coche que ya es un poco de un paseo.

Utilizamos este llevar durante años y nunca he tenido una mala comida. Buenos precios, comida deliciosa y abundante. Lo único que puedo decir es que después de tantos años de comer allí, que sería bueno tener algunos platos nuevos en el menú.

Para un restaurante chino incluso mano pan de gambas que es sosa, tiene que ser malo. Cada plato está cubierto en salsa descuidadas, viscoso. Me sorprende que nadie todavía va allí. Se necesitan urgentemente para ir a Londres y prueba de swansea o comida china decente y tratar de recrear ese.

We have tried both Chinese restaurants in Newcastle Emlyn and we feel that this is the better of the two, everything we have had has been very good.

On holiday in the area and called in for a takeaway, lady taking orders very friendly and efficient food served hot and exactly as ordered and good quality. Enjoyed the food, it might help them if they accept cards in the future.

Estábamos muy ansiosos de comida para llevar china tan esperada (ha sido alrededor de 2 años desde la última vez que tenía una) y tristemente severamente decepcionado. Este lugar parecía estar muy lleno así que pensamos en darle una oportunidad. Fue un servicio rápido amable. Qué desperdicio de dinero. Los rollitos primavera era estupendo, pero estaban sin sabor, el arroz marrón oscuro y tan salada que era incomible. El pollo estaba correoso, salado, insípido, empaquetados. El pato era un empalagoso insípida masa y todo lo demás era un desastre salados.. viscoso No hace falta decir que era tan asqueroso que fuimos en la papelera. Nunca más. Si viviéramos más cerca hubiéramos tomado.

Good sized portions and friendly service but rather average tasting. Would try it again as reasonable range of dishes on the menu.

I live just down the road from this place and always enjoy going in due to the lovely staff and great food. Will always come to this Chinese 😊😊😊😊

Not overly impressed our pork was tough and food lacked flavour not one to travel miles to get to this little town has so many to choose from so try somewhere else

No dought. In my mind best Chinese take away in Wales service so good food so tasty and reasonable one visit you wil not forget it thanks again for a lovely. Meal

Have called here now on a number of occasions and when the food has been properly cooked it is excellent unfortunatly the quality of the food is not consistant and the last time I called the batter covering the chicken balls was too thick and resulted in a very greasy and under cooked meal.

This is my local Chinese which i have used for over 20 years. Their service and food is brilliant. It is a place you can rely on for consistency and quality. Great value for money. Long may it continue. Steve softball

Never had a bad meal, always good and reasonable value for money. They are always busy which is a good sign.Those who go there will know what I mean by the calculator.We travel 8miles to go there - A good all round Chinese takeaway. Keep it up
