Kwong Yick in Carmarthenshire

Our usual Chinees takeaway was closed, we used to come here about 25 years ago but for some reason this place fell out of favour. I was very pleased with the .ears we had, dishes were about £0.40 cheaper. The quality was good, better than the one up the road but not quite up to our usual one. Would I come here again, yes if our usual.one is closed or we fancied a change. Parking can be an issue but a well deserved 4/5

Just simply the best Chinese takeaway in Carmarthen. The food is always stunning. I just wish there was a sit-down option

Saturday 19 March 2022 .This evening had a takeaway meal,chicken in hot sauce ,it was absolutely unreal ,the texture ,the look and the taste of the Chicken ,was not real ,complained about the dish,had no helpful response from owner ,one word for my meal …totally unhealthy chicken,should be banned .you shouldn’t be allowed to serve ,in my opinion….chemically processed 50% non chicken .

We ordered. Appetisers, duck in plum sauce, chicken ball and beef chow mein with spring rolls and prawn crackers. £48 later we sat here with naff all. Seemed luke we ordered a lot an yet when it arrived there was enough for 3 people at most I would adviase ordering from somewhere else if you want more than enough food for more than 3. Very disappointed. Shame as it was good here before lockdown.

Always use this Chinese, for over 10 years since I first used this Chinese Restaurant, I've always had Great food, the Staff are fantastic every time, Always friendly & happy to help, they also deliver, and the delivery Staff are also doing a great job ! Keep up the good work Kwong Yik :-)

Never one to complain but feel like this was needed. RUDE owner and not even my dog would eat the food!!! Sweet and sour chicken tasted like it was days old. Chips hurt my teeth they were so hard! I rang up to explain that the food wasnt even edible only for the owner to shout at me down the phone saying i need to handle my complaints better! I had to check my order twice and go back and fourth to the car as they left 3 of my items out as well! I will NEVER return. Disgusting Wouldnt even give it a one star but wont let me post a 0!

Chicken in hot sauce .NOT, now way was that chicken, it was rubbery and slimy, a handful of onions and watery sauce, 1/4 inch of oil, half a carton, dismal disgusting. Had pork Chinese style, definitely not what I’ve had before. The pork was tough, and the only other ingredient was bean sprouts, sauce was just flavoured water, surely there’s more to Chinese style than that!!!!!!. What has happened, I’ve noticed that the quality has gone down in the last 6 months, will be going elsewhere. You really need to buy real chicken, needs investigating, you can’t sell that as chicken .

Never eat a chinese when we go away as every time we’ve tried one it never compares to our beloved chinese takeaway at home. Thought we’d give it a try and it was amazing! Fast, averagely priced, freshly cooked to order, warm and tasted so good that we’re planning on ordering a very big order in December for over 20 people for our Christmas works do!!

Had a Takeaway from here last night, we had it delivered. Great service off the guy who dropped it off and I even gave a tip. Food was lovely. Excellent chicken fried rice and Beef curry.

Stunning food as usual tonight. Had to wait a long time for delivery as they were so busy but it was worth it.

First time back here since 2015. Food was very slow in being prepared, it appears that the takeaway home delivery operation takes priority over those who are given scant attention by walking in. The food itself has gone down in quality. My pork chow Mein was 90% bean sprouts with about 4 small pieces of pork, no noodles and the sauce was very salty but flavourless. Another meal ordered as ribs... they were clearly reheated and not freshly cooked, or ‘roasted’ as claimed. They were only offered with standard sauces which would have been just poured over. Deeply disappointed and I will not be returning.

A great menu cooked fresh. Singapore noodles are to die for. Clean, friendly and consistent. Well worth a visit or order a delivery.

Woman who took order polite and helpful. Waited 45 minutes for food to be cooked. Very disappointed in quality of meal. Was extremely salty and greasy, couldn’t finish meal as made me feel queasy. Only came here as usual Chinese takeaway was closed. Won’t be having food from here again

Said an hour, called back then told another hour. This place has gone to the dogs. Very rude girl on phone, joke of a place!

Having seen these reviews we decided to try some items from the takeaway menu. It all looked fairly average so we took a punt and ordered enough for four people. Although the food was edible the rice, in particular, was not as stated. The noodles were rather burnt while the sweet-and-sour sauce appeared to be a tomato soup. Also they are cash only.

Really good had egg fried rice x 4 nice and sticky with loads of egg, Special Curry nice and full of everything Chicken chow mein plenty of meat noodles and crunchy vegetables and Sweet and Sour Chicken lovely Sauce Overall good value for money cheaper than the other Chinese Takeaway across the roadOnly drawback is that it’s cash only but no big deal placed my order and went down to HSBC LLAMAS ST

Stunning Chinese. Only criticism is that you wouldn't know you were phoning a chinese as the woman who answers never says "hello Kwong Yick" seems strange but take nothing away from the food. 5 star.

Stunning chinese in Carmarthen, you'll struggle to get nicer chicken chow mein than the one they sell. Would highly recommend.

This is the best Chinese in Carmarthen. Good sized portions. Food always gets delivered hot. I usually have the chicken chow mein which is lovely. Can get busy on the weekends so getting through can take a while sometimes.

Best Chinese in Carmarthenshire, very tasty, hot & quality food!! They are a family-run business with the standard being extremely high. All staff are very polite, helpful and friendly. The service is both effective and efficient, the atmosphere extremely cosy. The effort and hard work of staff does not go unnoticed or unappreciated in any way, shape or form. I am a regular customer here @ Kwong Yick of Water Street, Carmarthen and I regularly recommend to friends & family. I am very impressed of the patience, attitude, commitment and speed of service. This has been my families chinese for years and years, I've had food from here since I was a young lad, the food is gorgeous, no matter what I've chosen it has always been very tasty, it is a family run business which is why it is so successful as they know exactly how and what to cook the best. I will eat here for many years to come also. Definitely recommend this takeaway.

Eaten their food for years, got to be the best Chinese in Carmarthen town. Great delivery service. On a Saturday night they could do with extra telephone lines.
