The worst Chinese I've ever had. It was inedible - bright orange food colouring- 🥵

What a great takeway, food is always good quality. Parking can be a little tricky but worth the effort. Looking forward to my next visit.

Have had a couple of meals from here. On Thursday I had chicken chow mein and am still very poorly with food poisoning. Will NEVER eat from there again.

Owner is very rude and argumentative "In future to avoid arguments check your bag before you leave" was the response i got when i told her about getting my order wrong won't be back ignorance will get you nowhere!!

We always enjoy their lovely Salt & Chilli Chicken Dry, Chicken Fried Rice, Seet & Sour Chicken Balls in Batter - or any of the Chow Mein dishes. Kind staff always try and go the extra mile. This place gets so busy on weekends, they get absolutely inundated, so plan your order ahead of time to avoid lengthy waits outside the shop. Cash only for orders below £20.

This is an unusual situation. I'm giving this takeaway 5 stars even though I threw half of my food away. Firstly, they are busy so order way before your desired eating time, at the minimum allow 30 minutes. Also they are one of the only chinese takeaway that takes card payment in the area but it is £20 minimum spend which doesn't bother me. So onto the food itself. Prawn crackers light and as good as they get! 5stars. Chicken balls, I've eaten lots in my time, these are the best. House special fried rice, again the best. Rather disappointingly the sweet and sour sauce was inedible absolutely foul..... beansprouts/onion side dish. Raw dipped in salt water again inedible but due to the rest of the food being the best I've ever had it's still got 5 stars. Parking outside easy if there is space if not plenty of car parks nearby.

Very disappointed that yet again the takeaway is closed on a weekend after travelling 15 miles because the website said it was open. Won't be bothering again we have eaten here for over 20 years but not anymore Signed Mushroom fried rice

Absolutely amazing food, really well made and not too expensive. Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Carmarthen.

Ordered at 7pm, told two hour wait. Couldn't get through on phone at 9:15pm to check status. Hubby went down to be told loads in front of us and no idea when we'll get it. After years using this Chinese we won't use them again. Went to New China in Water Street instead. Hubby walked in and got served within 20mins. Food was ace.

Mainly good service from here but when you order food and are told 2 hours and you pop in 2 1/2 hours later to polietly ask where your food is and are told no idea and frankly dont care if you want to cancel because we are too busy taking walk in orders...... in future wont use you again... and dont reply with nonsense about it being new years eve

We always visit this takeaway when in Carmarthen. Good food, extensive menu, excellent portions, reasonably priced. Only draw back is the restrictive parking outside, try not to pick up on your own and it's ok.

Been eating here for a while as we live locally and the food is always lovely! Big portions too. No complaints.

We are new in the area and this was the first place to try food from and ever since for no reason whatsoever we will try another Chinese takeaway in the area ! It’s sooooooo good! All the meat is succulent and with lovely sauces and the prawn toast is actually prawn toast ! Not just toast dipped in prawn juice like most places do 😅 Also great satay sauce and chow Mein! 😋🤤 The customer service is top notch which makes the whole package complete . What an amazing family run business 👌

We were regular Kwong Yic customers but thought we would try the Oriental Garden. Wow. The food is really good, yes I would agree that the young boy who serves clearly doesn’t want to be there and his mother (owner) is probably one of the rudest people I have ever met, but the food it amazing. Best Chinese around !

Order from this restaurant quite regularly as it’s my local take away , never had a bad meal , always tasty fresh and well the best I’ve had tbh , I’ve had from other Chinese’s in town and nothing compares in my opinion , the owner a lovely lady who always chats to me has a warm and welcoming attitude makes it a pleasure to go there and get my food just to say hi to her , if your debating where to get your next Chinese then I would definitely recommend oriental garden hands down every time if you haven’t tried it yet what are you waiting for? 😊

Popped here for take out late Fri eve 25th March 22, after the theatre- the lady was just closing, but happily cooked for us! Excellent food-generous portions- lovely friendly lady. Will definitely go there again.

I ordered food from here where the lady was so rude and horrible..... I should have walked out. She left the door open and you could see in the kitchen. The man cooking put the chicken out of a pot on the side and started cooking my food. How long was it left there and why not refrigerated like the chicken should be? I walked out as I refused my food as the kitchen was filthy. I've been in touch with the council about it and they are going to check on them and investigate the place.....filthy!dirty!rude!

I’ve tried a few on the Chinese takeaways in Carmarthen and this is our regular now. It’s very popular, so have to order early on peak days. Opens early so can call in on way home from work. No msg hangover and really tasty.

Paid for fwd got back home missing one dish. Went back give me really bad attitude in front of people in shop, check next time she told me in front of customers. I told her won't be back and I won't. Thats all she is interested is £££££ definitely not got customer service. 😒

I ordered a couple of items from a menu i found on line, that i phoned through. My bar-b-que spare ribs and Kung po prawn meals were ready in 10 minutes. Prices were typical for chinese takeaways. I requested a VAT number and received it by text as promised, a special thank you for this. Both menu items were delicious and excellent value.

ordered foot at 6pm, yes its NYE but still, to be told it will be ready between 7pm and 7.45 to then go up at 8.30 and still not ready. Asked if be ready before 9pm they said no. Put the phone off the hook aswell, couldn't get through. Why take the orders if you can't keep up or stick to your word???!!! Avoid at all costs!

So, so happy I found this Chinese. They have the best tasting plum sauce that I have ever tried. Order is always correct, prices are reasonable and they are very accommodating. I have never had a bad meal from them.

Terrible service. Placed an order at 5:15 to collect for 8. 8:20 rang to ask whether its ready. Told no dont know when its ready and it wouldn't of mattered if I rang an hour ago. Terribly rude front of house staff. Will no longer be going there as this used to be our local favourite but long waits and rude staff have made us go elsewhere after 5 years. My advice for others foods nice but ignore any time they give you and be prepared to wait and be spoken to rudely

The girl cooking in the kitcheen is a fanastic, her food is the best and personality great. U better be paying her a good wage she is well worth it.

Food is good but service appalling. You get told food will be ready in an hour and then you wait another hour waiting outside freezing. They want the custom but don’t care about customers.

Great quality food, brilliant service no more too ask for. The young guy on the desk taking orders like a boss and managing front of house brilliantly. Please be pacient with orders and collection times as they seem crazy busy but food is definitely worth the wait. Also great vegiterian options on the menu, we had the Mock Duck Curry which was outstanding.

Been coming here for years and wont go anywhere else. Friendly, helpful and quick, but above all, haven't had anything that I didn't like!! The lady might at times come across a bit abrupt, but I assure you she's a gem with a great sense of humour. The level of cleanliness is fantastic and during these covid times I was more than satisfied with how they were handling things, including cleaning their card machine before and after every transaction! Try their large spring rolls, stuffed full of veg and a million times better than I've had elsewhere. Planning on ordering another meal from them tonight, one of my go to treats :)

Recently stayed near Camarthen so visited this Take away three times in a week. Firstly young chap on desk was funny and efficient, please be patient coz this place is very, very busy but the food is worth waiting for which is very, very good. Visit be patient and enjoy the excellent room.

We went in to pick up a collection and wanted to pay for our food seperatly, she initially refused and said “no you pay together”, she then picked up the phone to take an order from another customer and she was constantly telling them to hurry up and eventually put the phone down on them. Then as my friend went to pick the food up off the counter she very sternly said “PUT IT DOWN”.Will not be coming back.

Good Chinese takeaway. We had a selection of dishes. The best was the crunchy chicken which had a great flavour. The spare ribs were good as well. My least favourite was the chicken in yellow bean sauce which was very sweet. The rices were good.

Our usual Chinese takeaway is still closed because of the current situation, but my husband and I have been craving one for weeks so thought we’d give Oriental Garden a try for the first time. It’s safe to say that this is our new favourite takeaway!!We placed an order at 5:30pm, and were told it would be ready to collect in half an hour which it was. It was a Friday night and payday weekend for lots of people - we were expecting a long wait but we’re pleasantly surprised by the short wait for our food. The food was wonderful! Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. The large spring rolls were clearly homemade, and full of flavour. The sweet and sour sauce which came with our chicken balls was incredible too. Every part of our meal was really tasty, not greasy or full of oil but flavoursome and enjoyable. Also, the bag of prawn crackers we got was huge!Oriental Garden puts our previous Chinese takeaway to shame! We will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you for the lovely food!

Food very good but service indifferent. Waited 2 1/2 hours despite ordering 1 hour before required.

New year's Eve, food ordered told an hour wait.Returned after an hour to collect food only to find no where near ready and others who had been waiting 2 hours. As far as I can see this is pure greed by the owners, rather than saying we can't take any more orders they just continued to take them not caring about their customers. Finally got a refund but to late to go some where else. Thanks for ruining my family's new year's Eve You should be ashamed of yourselves!!

Having ordered several takeaways from here, tonight's experience was beyond belief. We attempted to place a telephone order at 6.20., but could not get through. We had also placed an order with Farins too for pick up at 7.15. We decided to travel down to the premises to place an order face to face. We were met by a queue to the door. We arrived at 6.30 , order was taken by 6.45. We were advised that the order might take up to 40 - 45 minutes to fulfilling but then stated it could take up to an hour. Our food was handed to us at 8.35.! Other customers had been given incorrect and or not fulfilled their orders which compounded to the already meltdown which was unfolding in front of all the customers waiting patiently for their orders. Thankfully the food was good b u t the service, well this I s best left unsaid and you t h e reader can make up your own .mind !!!!,

Asked whether we could have vegan food and were told yes. They have a few tofu, mock duck dishes etc so seemed promising. Unfortunately the rice that came with our set meal was full of fried egg. Vegan means no animals products! No meat, no dairy and no egg. Rest of the food was ok, nothing special.

The food is OK but the service is appalling.I popped in to order and the young chap serving started to take my order and then when phone rang ignored me and answered phone. This happened 4 times at which point I walked out. I'll take my business elsewhere. The food is not nice enough to be treated like that, although there is no excuse for rudeness at any time.
