What a place! Service was amazing from the staff & the food was outstanding. Fresh & all pipping hot. Most delicious Indian I’ve had in South Wales. We will defiantly be back again

Visited Saturday night. Received a lovely mixed grill which came piping hot. Thoroughly enjoyed. I was served by two lovely staff members which made sure I received adequate service while I stayed the evening. I highly recommend this pub if you fancy a relaxing evening out. The menu has a vast repertoire including steaks, burgers, fish etc suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Lovely range of cocktails, lagers and ales. There is something for everyone in this establishment. All our party enjoyed, definitely visiting again.

I wanted a birthday meal that all the family could enjoy, but also needed to eat at home as mum isn’t mobile at the moment. So glad we chose Chinese food that night. We had a lot of food. It was for 10 people and we went totally against Nessa and Smithy and just put it all on the table. Fantastic food which made for a great night. All of us from 4 year olds to 70+ enjoyed the meal. All the different dishes were perfect. Considering I phoned to order and it was ready 30 minutes later I could not fault the service either. Would highly recommend. Best takeaway food for miles around.

Really good food and coffee and great value. Our go to place in Torfaen for an all day breakfast. Have been there 6 times in last 2 months and the quality of food and service is consistently very high.

There was a few problems getting our order to us but they went out of their way to sort this out. The food was lovely when it arrived would definitely recommend!

Since Clare has been away the food is not the best, will go elsewhere until Clare is back and the staff are not so rude, Food was dry and service not the best to be honest.

Now closed,such a shame. Was told by a good source that the rent on the shop was too high. Guess it will either turn into a coffee shop or vape store.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here this week. I’ve actually been a few times and it’s always been good. The service feels like whomever is hiring or training the staff, really wants them to care about their customers. Both of us enjoyed our eggs benedict and watermelon iced tea. The eggs were perfect and runny. Yum. We noticed that there is a happy hour with cocktails, so we might try that next time!

We were served by a very polite, helpful young lady named Abbie. She was so well spoken and was extremely helpful to us by showing us where the nearest toilets were and that we had everything we had ordered.

Staff friendly but really need some training. Dining room pretty empty despite insistence on pre-booking a table. No atmosphere, poorly laid out and stark lighting. Tables laid with unlit candles and redundant side plates. We'd booked a week in advance online advising of gartlic sensitivity. Staff reacted with surprise and dismay to this, weren't sure they could accomodate it. We explained that it's not an anaphalatic shock allergy, just that including garlic in my food causes an upset stomach which I'd rather avoid, but Maitre D looked really shocked and scared at the news. Not a great start. We were seated on one side of a round table big enough for 6 - 8. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was brought already open, and plonked on the far side of the table in a cooler - both bottle and cooler were at room temperature and we had to stand to reach the bottle - no chance to check it was what we'd ordered, no offer to taste or pour. No bread offered. Husband's deep-fried starter was okay, as was my prawn cocktail (as expected, tasted like it came from a supermarket ready made tub), but served with a chunk of iceberg lettuce (not shredded) and no bread and butter. My main course was pretty good, panfried fillet of bream or bass (can't recall), and husband's burger was also okay - but the string fries were cold and flabby, quite inedible. Unused side plates removed before dessert offered, and I can't remember what the desserts were like, so neither awful nor fabulous. The next evening's meal in the bar was 100% better in every aspect. Maybe there was someone different in the kitchen, and perhaps the bar staff are more experienced than the younger people working in the restaurant.

Thought we would give them another chance as the last few times have been terrible. We shouldn't have bothered. Not as good as they used to be. Chicken Nuggets tasted rubbery, and I ordered a pea fritter, I have never seen a pea fritter look like the photo attached!! Where's the batter?!.! We won't be ordering from them again, no point phoning them either to complain as you have attitude of certain people.

Ordered a cheeseburger, didn't realise till afterwards that there was no cheese on it, would have made the dry, tasteless burger taste much better
