The best restaurants in Green Lane Monmouthshire South Wales

This is the first time we have visited since we have moved house and we can’t believe we haven’t visited sooner! I had the hummus and homemade bread for starter, which was delicious!! My partner had the meatballs to start and he said they were really good. We both had pizza for our main and it was so fresh and tasty. The service was great and we can’t wait to come back

Lovely cafe, lovely food, very friendly, great place to hang out and watch the world go by with a nice tea or coffee. Dog friendly too 😀

Gone quiet pricey for a sit down

Decent breakfast here with mine and brothers families. Standard greasy spoon type place but food was well cooked and service was great with price appropriateness. Great strong coffee. Would return.

Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. First, the staff were quite rude and unwelcoming, which set a negative tone. After ordering my food, I was informed it was a cash-only establishment. Considering it’s 2024, this is highly inconvenient. When I mentioned I only had a card, the staff reacted as if it was unusual, which felt dismissive. This outdated approach, combined with the lack of customer service, makes it hard to recommend this place. It’s only a matter of time before a more modern and customer-friendly chip shop comes along and takes their business. If you're in the area, I’d advise going further into Caldicot for fish and chips.

We travel over 40 minutes just to get food from Wok U Like – that’s how much we love it! Every dish is consistently delicious, and full of flavour. Whether it’s crispy aromatic duck, sweet and sour chicken, or their amazing chow mein, everything tastes like it’s made with care. The staff are always friendly and efficient, and our order is always spot on. It’s become our special tradition to treat ourselves to Wok U Like for birthdays and celebrations. Truly one of the best Chinese takeaways around – highly recommend!

The food was unfortunately overcooked, resulting in a mushy texture. The excessive grease detracted from the overall dining experience. Furthermore, the various sauces lacked distinct flavors. They seemed to share a common base, which made it difficult to differentiate between them. This significantly impacted the enjoyment of the meal.

Had a delivery which was very prompt and tasted fab.. Good selection of food and drinks. Friendly staff and good selection

Terrible service, then a mix up that then lead to a further 20 min wait and cold food! Won't be back
