Visited for afternoon tea with our dog Betty. Staff are always so friendly and the food was amazing. Beautiful sandwiches (local Welsh cheese was my favourite.) Homemade St Clements scones with lemon curd and Fruit scones with strawberry jam and cream. A very sherry trifle/brandy snaps with cream were a visit back to my childhood for sure. Everything was perfect. Staff couldn’t do enough to make our visit special. Betty even got a little snack as well.

Smashing off licence/ wine bar/ wine shop in Dolgellau. Really friendly and a nice place to hang out for an hour. The owner couldn't be more welcoming, and we look forward to popping in when we are in the area. Wine's not cheap, but it's good, with plenty of rarities. Go on. Treat yourself. The Slate gin is great, and we had to come here on the way back to the Midlands since my wife had nearly chugged a bottle during our week in Aberdyfi.

Sometimes, just sometimes you can come across a food shop which ticks all of your boxes - and more. This is such a place. What was on offer was superb and the young lady who made up my order not only knew what she was doing but prepared it excellently as I watched. I wish I lived nearer.

A quick google search brought us to this site we just wanted a breakfast before our hike. This turned out to be the highlight of our day. The hotel looks amazing every room beautifully decorated and the background music provides a magical atmosphere, but more than the site is the people you meet, everyone was so nice and welcoming from the moment we walked in, the food was perfectly cooked as well. Great breakfast.

We stumbled across the Cader Cafe by chance as we were looking for a dog friendly cafe and we were so pleased we did. We received a warm welcome the moment we stepped in the door. Lovely selection of home made cakes, pies and sausage rolls and my daughter and I both had to try one of the hot honey buns which were so yummy. Hubbie had a hot sausage roll and they even brought a hot sausage and a bowl of water for our puppy. We had 2 honey buns, a large sausage roll, 2 teas and a large hot chocolate for under £10 + Dotties sausage. We had paid more than this for 1 tea and 2 hot chocolates the day before on Anglesey. The service was first class and the staff so friendly. The cafe was very clean as were the toilets but they could do with a little upgrade. Thank you for a lovely visit.

This was the most superb experience on Christmas Day. It was an excellent lunch with great innovation to each course, lovely ingredients and all cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable and friendly. We can't wait to sample it again, before Christmas next!

Great food, plenty of vegetables which came as a side dish. Roast potatoes and mashed potatoes were really nice. Beer good. Friendly staff and friendly customers. Felt very welcome. Well priced. However room was a bit chilly! Had to keep my coat on.

The cakes are the best on the planet. Beyond a wide country mile. Huge celebrations of what cake should be in a cake paradise. You are spoilt for choice but I especially recommend the coffee and walnut tiered layer cake and the chocolate Vienneses. It reminded me of what cakes used to be like in the 70s (although not THIS good). I thought that quality had gone from high streets forever. It has not. It is here.

I’ve been here often over the years and this is an excellent bakers run by very hard working smart talented and decent people. The patience they’ve shown to clearly absurd negative reviews from competitors is to their total credit. It’s very successful baker because the locals come back again and again. That’s all you need to know. All power to you DD
