The best restaurants in Dolgellau North Gwynedd North Wales

We had the most amazing afternoon tea served and made by our incredible host who runs the tea room and shop with his lovely wife. It was delicious, excellent value and just so perfect. The room was decorated beautifully and we had such a lovely time. I would travel miles back to this fantastic afternoon tea. Make sure to book ahead in order to have their freshly prepared treats!

Sometimes, just sometimes you can come across a food shop which ticks all of your boxes - and more. This is such a place. What was on offer was superb and the young lady who made up my order not only knew what she was doing but prepared it excellently as I watched. I wish I lived nearer.

A quick google search brought us to this site we just wanted a breakfast before our hike. This turned out to be the highlight of our day. The hotel looks amazing every room beautifully decorated and the background music provides a magical atmosphere, but more than the site is the people you meet, everyone was so nice and welcoming from the moment we walked in, the food was perfectly cooked as well. Great breakfast.

We stumbled across the Cader Cafe by chance as we were looking for a dog friendly cafe and we were so pleased we did. We received a warm welcome the moment we stepped in the door. Lovely selection of home made cakes, pies and sausage rolls and my daughter and I both had to try one of the hot honey buns which were so yummy. Hubbie had a hot sausage roll and they even brought a hot sausage and a bowl of water for our puppy. We had 2 honey buns, a large sausage roll, 2 teas and a large hot chocolate for under £10 + Dotties sausage. We had paid more than this for 1 tea and 2 hot chocolates the day before on Anglesey. The service was first class and the staff so friendly. The cafe was very clean as were the toilets but they could do with a little upgrade. Thank you for a lovely visit.

What a warm welcome having come from the coffee shop opposite (which was a really poor visit) a huge difference in atmosphere you ladies were amazing, engaging with my 5 month old granddaughter. No rush for us to leave, lovely conversation everything in this establishment is first class including the greeting. Will definitely be back thank you

This was the most superb experience on Christmas Day. It was an excellent lunch with great innovation to each course, lovely ingredients and all cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable and friendly. We can't wait to sample it again, before Christmas next!

Absolutely stunning full breakfast - the best we’ve ever had! Even the cappuccino and bottled orange juice were amazing. The staff were lovely and place was really nice and peaceful. We managed to park just round the corner, but imagine it would be more difficult in busier months.

Go for the pizza, stay for the warm welcome atmosphere, the great service, the cosy ambience, the dogs, friendly locals, huge selection of local beer and ale, and all of the other great food! Some of the best pizza I've had, definitely recommend!

The food was really nice, eventually when it arrived. We waited over 30 minutes for pmour starter, incidentally they forgot our olives. They then presented us with a lovely paella but without the seafood included. A meek apology was given and then we were ignored for the rest of our time there, no token extra side or drink to compensate. Very disappointing.

Mid afternoon visit for a bite to eat. Great service, perfect location. Good menu. Slightly disappointed at portion size (venison dog) was uninspiring and basic, tasty but lacked any wow factor,. If you are putting a dish like this on the menu needs to live up to the hype.

Cracking little find on a brief lunch stop. Good selection of hot food to takeaway, pork roll was delicious. Big selection of tasty treats too!

I’ve been here often over the years and this is an excellent bakers run by very hard working smart talented and decent people. The patience they’ve shown to clearly absurd negative reviews from competitors is to their total credit. It’s very successful baker because the locals come back again and again. That’s all you need to know. All power to you DD
