So much choice. Generous portions. The best sausage rolls with cheese!! Also massive custard swirls and cinnamon swirls.

The shop is a little gem in a very pretty village, we loved it and the cakes were truly to die for especially the caramel choux buns!

Lovely bakery/café. Great value for money. Staff all very attentive. The cookie cake is to die for. Couldn’t finish it on the day: had to take 2/3rd of it back home.

You will be spoilt for choice at this bakery; there are just so many delicious sweet treats to choose from. We went back twice to try more and every one was delicious! The breakfast is also very good, with some varied choices on the menu. Definitely go here if you're in the area!

Lovely staff, they were super busy but happy and friendly. Gorgeous cakes, generous sizes... very generous. Biggest and best Vanilla slice I have ever had. Looking forward to a return visit and sampling the rest of the delicious looking produce.

Called in with my disabled sister, after she had struggled to get in. It was 2.15 but they refused to serve anything but takeaway as they closed at 3. Very unsympathetic manager, I shall not be returning

Exploring bakeries for butter buns and bars Ruth, found this bakery had turned into a lovely cafe, staff lovely and happy to help and best of all found butter ins which were as big as I remember as a child ( I’m now 66) and they tasted as I remembered with the bonus of nice teas and coffees. Worth a visit at any time. I must say their sausage rolls on display were massive! Shame I had no space to eat one 😊

We picked up cakes and bread from here. Cakes were wonderfully different. The Manchester Tart was best, Choux bun a close second. Each cake was enough for 2, on a wild wet windy day.

What a great place that just keeps on giving, whenever we visit there’s always something that has changed, the most recent is the addition of both soft scoop and mr whippy icecream, they have also made room for a new counter for hot food , i had beef chilli and rice with a side of chips “obviously” and my husband had the chicken pie with chips which he said was very tasty too and we’re both very reasonably priced considering everything else in this world has shot through the roof, We had cakes to go and picked on them all the way home they were equally delicious. Keep up the great work and we can’t wait to visit again soon.

Ice cream stop with the family was needed so decided on this nice looking bakery. Good selection of the classic flavours plus some more unusual ones too (Jaffa cake, Unicorn!). Lovely ice cream but a bit pricey for one scoop. All good just a bit expensive give the size of the portion. 🙂

Called in to the cafe for a sausage buttie which wasn't on the menu but they served it anyway. Excellent service - speedy, efficient and very helpful.

Superb bakery, the cakes are absolutely the best. The home made rolls gorgeous, full of filling and fresh and tasty. All at a really good price. Highly recommended, I would go nowhere else for my take away lunch rolls when I am in the area, they are superb here!

Delicious and beautiful little deli/ cafe, The scones were huge!!! The coffee was good too - very popular with locals too.

We had a roast dinner and then a welsh brekkie the following day, and it felt like being wrapped in sheeps wool, we thought the food was exceptional and we are drooling with anticipation of our next sitting

We were just passing by as the selection of baked goods caught our eye. We nipped in to get some to take away, the shop was lovely and cozy and the staff member that served us was really friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, really fresh, But the star of the show… the cinnamon bun. Simple the best I’ve ever had (and i’ve tried a few)! I would highly recommend you try it if you’re visiting the area, and even if you’re not, make a special trip, they are well worth it. Gutted we didn’t buy more and secretly wished there was a delivery service

Popped in for breakfast whilst travelling through the town. Breakfast menu not too visible - had to ask at the counter - but there was a wide range of options. Very tasty. It was an - all-day breakfast but they were also serving lunches - many folk took them away. Large selection of cakes which were all very generously sized and looked tasty. Coffee was OK although not really to my taste. Service was friendly and efficient. It was very busy with folk who were obviously local.

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing huge veggie breakfast, with Glamorgan sausages on Saturday. How have we never found this place?! By far the best in Dolgellau. Very pleasant staff. I would highly recommend!

Visiting Dolgellau, stopped off at Popty'r Dref, just off the main square in town to buy our youngest a Sticky Bun with a cherry on top! Helpful friendly Welsh service. Good quality bun - albeit pricey at £1.50 - but it certainly make littleone's day....

Hunni buns are a Dolgellau speciality and if you like sweet stick buns you will love these. Got ours here, excellent, but most bakers in the town sell them.

The first time we walked into this (empty) bakery the two staff members began a conversation, one turned her back to us and the other ignored us until I said loudly 'Good morning!' We were then served with an excellent honey bun and a chocolate and custard pastry. Very reasonable at £1 each, or less for two. The second time, a different young woman was serving and was perfectly friendly. It seems that some staff don't understand customer service - but the products are good.

Whilst driving through the area, my boyfriend and I were attracted by this cosy looking bakery/tea rooms. We were not disappointed! We had a Chelsie bun and coffee each. The bun was the size of my face. It was fresh and delicious!

Very poor. Stood waiting for 10min to be served and seen by 3 members of staff and not even one asked if they could help or mention that they would be with us soon. I was third in a queue! Walked out without anything in the end and no one being seen to!

We had honey buns and a cinnamon swirl on our first visit while passing through the town. We deliberately chose our route home from North Wales via Dolgellau to try the honey buns again, as well as a custard swirl. All yummy and served by very helpful and cheery staff. Well done Popty'r Dref.

The food in the window looked fantastic and we chose a Custard Swirl and Belgian Bun. Only £1 each and the best value we've had in years. The Belgian bun contained lots of cherries.Ten out of Ten. Scrumptious!

Visited with my family for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. Having been to Dolgellau before and found it hard to find somewhere to eat with picky kids we didn't really have any high expectations. However walking in it was immediate to see that the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The staff were helpful and the choice of food was vast, from sandwiches and baguettes to cakes and bread to pizza and sausage rolls to soup and milkshakes. Prices are reasonable and all family members were happy with their choices. I even went back later in the day for a cake to take home.
