We had the most amazing afternoon tea served and made by our incredible host who runs the tea room and shop with his lovely wife. It was delicious, excellent value and just so perfect. The room was decorated beautifully and we had such a lovely time. I would travel miles back to this fantastic afternoon tea. Make sure to book ahead in order to have their freshly prepared treats!

We stumbled across the Cader Cafe by chance as we were looking for a dog friendly cafe and we were so pleased we did. We received a warm welcome the moment we stepped in the door. Lovely selection of home made cakes, pies and sausage rolls and my daughter and I both had to try one of the hot honey buns which were so yummy. Hubbie had a hot sausage roll and they even brought a hot sausage and a bowl of water for our puppy. We had 2 honey buns, a large sausage roll, 2 teas and a large hot chocolate for under £10 + Dotties sausage. We had paid more than this for 1 tea and 2 hot chocolates the day before on Anglesey. The service was first class and the staff so friendly. The cafe was very clean as were the toilets but they could do with a little upgrade. Thank you for a lovely visit.

What a warm welcome having come from the coffee shop opposite (which was a really poor visit) a huge difference in atmosphere you ladies were amazing, engaging with my 5 month old granddaughter. No rush for us to leave, lovely conversation everything in this establishment is first class including the greeting. Will definitely be back thank you

This hotel may be suitable for couples looking for a quiet getaway for a day or two, but unfortunately, it falls short for families with children or people wanting to stay longer. The main menu has very limited options and does not change. There is no children’s menu available, and when I asked about meal options for my kid, I was met with frustration and told that the only fish available was a £25 pollock and the portion size was tiny! The rooms, while cosy, felt overpriced for what they offered and had a peculiar smell. For the rate charged, I expected more comfort, luxury and space. To top it off, I had informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating a birthday, yet there was no acknowledgment—no special touch, not even a simple birthday greeting. It felt impersonal and underwhelming. Overall, not a great experience for families or special occasions. Would not recommend for those traveling with children or hoping for a memorable celebration.

Couldn’t have been cosier, caught my eye on the way past & very glad I stopped in. Service was great, extremely accommodating and did me an early dinner in the bar so I could hike to my overnight stop. Talked me through the beer selection & made me feel at home. Lovely atmosphere & perfect hospitality. The host (I didn’t catch his name) chatted with us & it made for a great atmosphere of all tables in the bar. Would happily stay & it’s a fantastic location for mountain walks. Food was delicious & very reasonably priced (I forgot to leave a service charge & feel very guilty, couldn’t have been more deserving - please drop by and have a drink on my behalf)!! I’ll be back :)

Lovely relaxed dog friendly pub with really friendly staff and great quality food and drink in a stunning location overlooking the beautiful Mawddach estuary. We stayed in one of the external rooms which are dog friendly, and did a circular walk from the pub with stunning views (New Precipice Walk- George 3rd provides a leaflet with easy to follow route instructions). Comfortable room with fab power shower, robes, towels, slippers, tea/coffee/biscuit tray, hair drier, mini fridge and comfortable bed. Love it here- it’s a favourite and we would definitely stay again. Thank you to the lovely staff.
