Stayed here for my birthday in March of 2020 and I have to say although rooms extremely large the establishment is below standard. Wallpaper coming off the walls and bloating tiles in bathroom. Left my room unattended and had my wallet stolen. I reported it to establishment management, but nothing came of it, was told that it was my property and I shouldn't of left mmy room unattended.
Since the Breiden closed as a takeaway been trying to find a new Chinese takeaway tried the blue jade but very greasy and oil was well past its used by date . So very surprised to find the golden bamboo was bloomin lovely …..
We phoned and ordered our food. We asked how long it would be before we could collect and we were told 50-55 minutes (cash only when we turn up to collect). My parents went to collect this and waited near by. They then went in after the time we were told. They were then told that they only start cooking the food once we paid so it would be another 35-40 minutes. This is absolutely ridiculous! Even if this is the way they operate (which isn't standard and very odd!) why not tell us this when we called and ordered! We were given a time to pick up the food. There was no mention of having to come in to pay before they would start cooking. A really bad experience! Customer service at it's worst!!
The last time I had food from here was about 20 years ago, and it wasn't good. Despite living locally, it was bad enough for me to avoid it for all that time, and learn how to cook that cuisine myself.
Surely they must have got better over the space of two decades and deserve another chance?
The answer? No. They haven't.
The "stir fried vegetables" showed no evidence of being stirred, or fried. Whilst at least retaining some texture, they seemed to have been warmed through (lightly poached?) in a rather bland gravy.
The stir fried noodles were VERY greasy. The onions were not at all charred, and not even a hint of Wok Hei. Bland and seemed to lack ANY seasoning. In desperate need of white pepper, soy sauce & sesame oil.
Egg fried rice. Greasy again, although not as much as the noodles. Again, no seasoning. Nothing in the way of soy sauce, oyster sauce or sesame oil. Really REALLY bland.
I'd love to support a local business, but it looks like I'm still cooking my own Chinese food for the foreseeable future. I've been generous and given them a two. The food WAS at least edible, but really not good.
It's a real shame, and I hope they read the detail I've given as being constructive criticism.
OMG I don't usually do reviews but having spoken to the little girl who was doing her homework while helping to run a genuine family business, one I have eaten at for over 4 years. I am moved to challenge some of the reviews.
I come from Liverpool which has had the biggest and earliest Chinese community in the World, outside of China, until very recently. I therefore have eaten Chinese food my whole life and this is one of the BEST places you will EVER find.
This Family can cook! The service is never less than lovely and EVERYTHING I have eaten EVERY TIME has been of the highest quality.
Thank you guys for being in my little Welsh village! Much Love John Paul x
Great bargain. Got my breakfast, a kids breakfast, unlimited tea and a fruit shoot for just over £8. Decent breakfast. Autism friendly as it had all the runny foods ( beans, chopped tomatoes and guacamole) in separate pots so that they don’t touch the other food. As we as the runny foods I got a veggie sausage, 2 hash browns, a fried egg and 2 toast. Kids breakfast is 3 items.
Our 2 children wanted fish and chips for dinner so we thought we would try frydays. The woman serving us poured salt and vinegar on the food despite us saying that the kids don't like vinegar and salt. She did redo the food but we incredibly aggressive about it... I will remind you that we said we dont want salt and vinegar but she ignored us...
We got home before opening the food... and it wasn't food.. the chips were raw, the fish was raw and the batter was literally dripping off the fish.
It is lucky we decided to playe it up for the children otherwise they may have started eating it without realising it was uncooked "food".
I have reported them to the food standards agency but I advise everyone to stay away from this group of monsters...
Truly appalling. If I could give a 0 rating I would...
I just like to thank Joe for his excellent service this morning towards me and my mum in Greggs this morning very friendly and helpful First class service keep up the great work Joe
Took our daughter out for an evening meal when she was home from uni.
The restaurant was busy and the staff were struggling to cope.
The food was average but a good portion size and came in a timely fashion.
A little pricey overall.
There was no website for this pub so I couldn't have a look at the menu before arriving .
The car park was full of large pot in holes.

The worst Chinese maybe even takeaway food I've ever eaten, Chicken balls cooked in very dirty oil extremely greasy, dripping with grease horrible taste. Chow mein has a really funny taste obviously from the dirty oil again. Absolutely feel ripped off chucked most of it. First time using this place and without a doubt the very last.
I was looking forward to going to burger King but they close at 9pm what use is that, and they do not do mobile orders so how are you meant to get the offers on the app, will stick with McDonald's
