Our 2 children wanted fish and chips for dinner so we thought we would try frydays. The woman serving us poured salt and vinegar on the food despite us saying that the kids don't like vinegar and salt. She did redo the food but we incredibly aggressive about it... I will remind you that we said we dont want salt and vinegar but she ignored us... We got home before opening the food... and it wasn't food.. the chips were raw, the fish was raw and the batter was literally dripping off the fish. It is lucky we decided to playe it up for the children otherwise they may have started eating it without realising it was uncooked "food". I have reported them to the food standards agency but I advise everyone to stay away from this group of monsters... Truly appalling. If I could give a 0 rating I would...

We were so looking forward to having fish and chips and after looking at reviews we decided to go with Frydays. Wish we hadnt...Our chips were just ok, if a little anaemic and the curry sauce tasted quite nice but the fish was awful. Literally all batter and half a soggy fish. Like a cheap supermarket version. It has left me with a nasty taste in my mouth all evening. I also discovered some weird kind of foreign object which is all I can describe it as! (I want to say small thin worm but wont....) My sons battered sausage was mushy and smelt of dog food, at least my dog enjoyed it! Really gutted. £15 spent and it was a waste. Yuk... wont be returning.

This fish and chip shop is under new management. The fish and chips are really excellent and the prices are good. Both cod and haddock are stocked as well as other menu items not usually found in a chip shop, like home made lasagne. On Sundays, takeaway roast dinners are available for collection and delivery. Gluten free fish and chips are available every day after 5pm. Highly recommended!

Most of the food we bought went in the bin . The chips tastes microwaved . The sausage was undercooked and inedible . Would not recommend and will not be returning !

Fast service, and great food. What more could you want from a chippy. Also not very expensive! All enjoyed.

I very rarely leave a 1 star as you can see from my previous reviews. However this was really poor. This was the first time trying the place, as it is new, as somewhere we could possibly visit and support. However, the batter was totally undercooked and inedible on the fish. The battered sausage ( which I had not ordered, I asked for a non battered) was pink and inedible. The curry sauce was like a curry paste jar, very odd. Really disappointed and most of it went in the bin.

A sunny Saturday evening and no restaurants in town had any space, so our only option was the chippy. Well how fortunate we were. The food was brilliant, well cooked and great tasting batter on the thick cod portions, delicious chips and mushy peas just as they should be. Helpful friendly staff advised us of an idyllic spot to sit and eat our order on the old bridge over the river. It was a delight to sit over the river and savour our evening meal out of the paper . If we are in the area again we will not hesitate to go back for seconds, keep up the great work guys! Best wishes for continued success, John and Caroline
