Welcome Takeaway in Powys

I chose to ignore reviews as this Chinese takeaway is the only one for miles. They take cash only. Girl serving behind counter has no idea what any dishes were. And then the food. Sorry but it’s appalling. The only thing that was reasonable was 1/4 crispy duck. The satay chicken was like a gloopy curry sauce. The sauces on the main dishes were horrible and gloopy. Sadly most of it went in the bin but we tried to each the meat so not to waste it. Lessoned learned. Won’t go there again

Wish I had read the reviews before going ! I ordered chicken curry which was a gluppy sloppy sauce with chicken and Crispy Beef … this has to be the worse meal I v ever had in fact we did have a laugh when eating it … no meat in it just batter bits , we basically dissected it just to see and no not a bit of beef in sight … disgraceful , never again !

Girl on the phone was miserable as sin.. couldn’t even crack a smile when I went in to collect. Coughed on her hands then handed me my change… The food, disgusting. Chips and sweet and sour chicken balls had cleary been cooked hours earlier and had been sat in a hot cupboard. Egg fried rice was full of burnt egg. Won’t be eating here again. Poor customer service and poor food!

Special curry tasted of nothing at all. Requested extra hot, chilli flakes were present but no taste of white pepper. Chicken in Szechuan sauce tasted sweet, certainly no Szechuan pepper in sight!! Duck pancakes ok, apart from stale spring onions and 4x2 pieces of cucumber! Chips hot!

Tonight I ordered 6 different takeaway meals . Ordering by phone was easy. You pay in cash when you collect . Each of us really enjoyed our meals. There was plenty of food, and it was all delicious. We'll definitely use New Welcome Chinese takeaway again, and I definitely recommend .

We tend to go to the Newtown chinese lately as the last 3 occasions weve had a take away from here me and my fiance have become very ill. Fighting to get to the toilet as was coming out both ends. We both have different food to each other but still get poorly from it so we wont be going here again!! Last visit was yesterday as we were hoping for a better experience than last time but this one seems worse. Tummy cramps arent nice. Very disappointed

Staying at Red Kite touring park at Llanidloes and decided, as it was our last night, we'd have a treat. What better than a Chinese takeaway (as covid didn't allow for sit ins). Discovered New Welcome down in the town. It didn't disappoint, crab and sweetcorn soup to start followed by a roast pork curry rice/chips. Hubby had chicken and sweetcorn soup followed by special curry chips/rice. The food was outstanding as was the service. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.
