The best restaurants in Knighton Powys Mid Wales

We took a detour to here after seeing the reviews and were not dissapointed. The pizza was so tasty and the staff were really friendly. Will definitely make sure to stop off again in the future. We chose to sit in and service was great but also saw plenty of people with takeout which would be great if you're stopping close by.

Delicious, homemade food & friendly place to relax. Bara brith was lovely and the cheese is a welsh, yum.

Lovely pub in Knighton. We'd booked but arrived a little early, a choice of tables was available so we chose the vault rather than the bar or restaurant area. This is a literal bank vault with cool decor and a cosy feel. The gentleman serving us was great. We had good filling food and drink here. Solid 10/10 pub food. Starters were salmon and Welsh rarebit and for mains I had a chicken burger with fries and the wife, a ribeye steak cooked perfectly medium rare with chunky chips and peas. We both thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains. There was no space for dessert :( Would highly recommend stopping through Knighton or staying nearby.

One of the best breakfasts we have had in ages. We have visited Knighton over the last 2 weeks viewing houses. The cafe is no frills from a decor perspective but is so welcoming and friendly with all meals cooked to order and really reasonably priced. Today was the bosses last day there, however it will be reopening in a couple of weeks under new management. I hope they don’t change much as this place is a gem and hopefully a local for me in the near future.

Wow what a lovely pub with kind friendly staff very welcoming. The foods amazing literally couldn’t ask for anything better we will be back.

I have literally just visited this cafe and while I appreciate it was busy I waited nearly 25 minutes for a toasted tea cake which was burnt to buggery and my friends had toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches which they chose to leave ….. so basically a £22.99 bill for very little. We shan’t be back

We ordered a take away at 6.30pm and received it at 10pm. We had just arrived a holiday cottage. (Tesco had cancelled our food delivery at 6pm!!). We little other choice, everywhere was closed in the area. We had children including young toddlers with no food. (Snacks had run out during long journey!!) It was horrendous. We called to say that level of service was unacceptable. Why offer delivery and expect 3.5 hours to be a reasonable time to wait. They asked why we waited and not just cancelled and shouted at me down the phone. They had already taken our money and we literally had no other option but to wait. Completely spoiled our rare weekend away as a family.

I never write reviews. Been wanting a Chinese since I moved here some years ago. So very disappointing. Smaller portions and better quality ingredients is called for. Chicken was horrible and sitting in soggy fatty batter. S and S sauce looked like it was radioactive. Expensive to throw away.

Edit... my wife has emailed a complaint to Chandos and no responce. After nearly 2 weeks... very poor. I honestly do not know why this place has such good reviews. We spent £60 and nothing was plesent. The curry sauce had the consistency of cold gravy, the chips were cold and flavourless. The "chicken" special kebab had more lamb than chicken and the pitta bread looked like it had been sat on. We ordered a Nutella pizza... the picture looked fantastic and we got a pizza base smothered in Nutella and strawberry sauce with hundred and thousands on... it's the kind of thing I'd expect my kids to make... and for £10... absolute scam!

Amazing family get away. Lovely rooms and outstanding coeliac friendly food. Warm and welcoming staff. Thanks for such a great time!
