We went here as a group of 15 people. We had a fixed main course, which was delicious, and a choice of puddings which were also excellent. We were very well looked after, with prompt and attentive service. To be highly recommended.

I have literally just visited this cafe and while I appreciate it was busy I waited nearly 25 minutes for a toasted tea cake which was burnt to buggery and my friends had toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches which they chose to leave ….. so basically a £22.99 bill for very little. We shan’t be back

We share a large haddock and chips on a Friday night - prefer to go and order in person and wait for it to be cooked to order. Delicious Haddock with a lovely crispy light golden batter. We either take it home or eat in the fabulous and friendly Watsons Ale house bar or garden next door. TAKE CASH ! ( cashpoints at the old library/ civic centre or Costcutters. Always a queue on Friday night - but doesn’t take too long - and a good sign of its popularity. Definitely worth the price ( not expensive) and always delicious ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's so lovely to finally be able to go to a restaurant that you know are understanding of allergens. The chef really knows his menu and the ingredients in it. I really wanted the moules marinere as I hadn't been able to have them since I discovered my dairy intolerance. However I also have an intolerance to eggs and it said it had eggs in the dish. The chef advised it was only on the bread so we switched out the bread and boom I had yummy moules marinere. Portions are massive (too big for me but I'm always happy to go home with a doggy bag), food is good quality and yummy. The interior design is relaxing and cosy. I highly recommend. We'd love to see a gluten free beer on tap in the future. But they do have a few in bottles. We live fairly far away but we'll be sure to return whenever we're in the area.
