Wetherspoons food is much higher quality. But a cool place and nice drinks.

Popped in on my way home from a night out. First time ordering from here had a kebab and chips. Was not disappointed very tasty kebab and big portion too. Will definitely be back

No longer serve food but the welcome from the bar staff is always warm. Use this as my local and wouldn't go anywhere else.

All the Indians round here this one is definitely the best family run allways clean and most of all you can not beat there food at all amazing place glad there is a Indian a can eat from don’t like many take away . 5 stars from me there all genuinely very well mannered to costs nothing

Used to be excellent- no longer the case. Food was ok, the service was on a par with Basil Fawlty crossed with Julie Walters in the ‘2 Soups’ comedy sketch. We had booked a table for 4 on Saturday evening. We were taken to our table to find a different waitress had just taken 2 other people to it. They were told to move somewhere else by the guy showing us to the table. Everything was done properly with space between tables although the place was quite empty anyway. We placed our order with the waitress, who didn’t seem very competent. I questioned whether they had taken every order on the table. We checked and they said yes but then 15 minutes later came over to say they only had orders for 3 main courses. It took 3 attempts to get a wine list and 5 attempts to get some water. The waitress brought out the starters and said ‘I’m not sure what they are, but here you go’. A little training might be worthwhile. At some point a waitress brought us out 2 main courses of pork chops. We hadn’t ordered those so sent them away. The main course didn’t arrive for about an hour by which point they had apologised that they had forgotten us and offered free deserts on the house. After waiting ages for the plates to be cleared from the table and asking for the desert menu we gave up and went to the desk to pay as we thought it would take ages for them to bring it to the table. That in turn was eventful, they tried to give us the wrong bill for 2 different tables. In the end we just agreed to a bill that resembled some of the food we had eaten, paid and left. Total incompetence from start to finish, but well worth it if you want free table side entertainment.

I've had food a lot over the years from this chippy and last few times I've been the chips are undercooked and more like mashed potato and other times I've been chips are like rubber, sausages are undercooked need a bit more colour to them , rissole,s are over priced for being a Lewis rissoles if they was home made i would say ok fair enough with the cost of it but Lewis rissole,s 🤣 and the fish is just a mess ,the gravy is just like piss the only thing that is nice there is the curry sauce I will not be returning in near future and that says a lot I've been coming there since I was a young kid shame

About a week ago I was suggested by a close friend to visit Whistlestop and went with very high hopes before being severely disappointed. I ordered a mediocre omelette which already totalled to £8 by itself! And upon enquiry, I discovered there was only two eggs used. If those prices aren’t bad enough, when ordering a milky coffee I was charged £1.50 extra! Now usually I wouldn’t target pricing, especially for a small business, but when the quality becomes an issue too, I am inclined to express my discontent. We ordered two slices of toast, waited 20 minutes before asking where it was, and then waited another 10 to receive it! By that point, we had finished our food long ago. There appears to be several very young children employed that don’t seem ready, trained or confident in a fast kitchen environment, with one of them appearing to be no older than 14, and clearly struggling to manage. Furthermore, whilst these children are running around trying to keep on top of their job, the man that I am presuming is the owner/manager appears to be more of a hindrance than help, which doesn’t seem to be the most comfortable environment. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Excellent food ,decent sized portions,pleasant staff,quick service- pick up and deliveries.

Although just eat and others say they deliver at distance i paid £10 delivery charge and it 2 hours later I was still waiting. Food was great service terrible. Dont know why they advertise delivery's outside of the merthyr region if there was to be issues as such

This company is now taken over by Grand Wok which is NOT a review for this resturant Always top quality food here and value for money. Recent order was the Hungry mans roll in a tray (Was so big/filling that I had it for brekkie and dinner) Unlike other takeaways where they have more dry bread than actual filling (Greggs)
